    I've been building sites for 10 years. However, I enjoy these beginner videos because sometimes you just train yourself to do things 'the hard way' and don't realize that beginner strategies (or going back to the roots) is a great way to simplify your process. And sometimes you become stop seeing the 'forest for the trees'.

Honestly, it is not the best design platform but I like to not pay for creating ad images. I can both design and publish from one single channel.

    Question...
    DO you sell yourself as a Webflow designer? Or as a website designer? Is webflow a selling point? Or just a tool? Because it's no code and seen as a quicker platform, if you sell yourself as a webflow developer, the assumption would be made that you will be cheaper WF is a quicker development platform.
    Curious as to your thoughts.

    I DO wish webflow handled css classes a bit better. Classes in webflow are handled in a closed hierarchy rather than a pure open cascade (which is what CSS was designed for). Stacking classes (combo classes in webflow) is not well implemented in webflow. I'm sure there's a technical reason for this... But it's still annoying.

    Good day I just wanted to say that I am very frustrated. Please do not take this the wrong way because I think your video is very informative and is very great. However as a person with an associates degree in graphic design I find myself struggling to find work in the web design field each and every day.
    Everywhere you look to learn about how to build websites is telling you to use WordPress or things like WIX and it gets rather frustrating because when you go to look for a job in the web design field most companies don’t even use WIX or Wordpress.
    Everywhere you look they’re asking you to have a bachelors degree and you have to know these different coding types like CSS, HTML, PHP, JavaScript and a whole number of other things. When you’re a graphic designer like me with next to no coding experience who knows absolutely nothing about building a website and who does not meet the requirements that web design companies want it gets frustrating.
    So how does a person like me with just an associates degree in graphic design manage to score a job for a web design company what do you suggest? My plan is to go back to school and finish my bachelors.

    • @mika.mirjana
      @mika.mirjana 2 года назад

    • @Storm-ib7uz

      Learning Html amd Css would take like 1 month so I say to give it a try. Learning JavaScript and a framework (React or Angular) is actual coding and you don’t need those to be a web designer. Those are for Web Developers (so actual programmers). But you could try to learn the principles of JavaScript at least. Anyways, try to learn Css, Html and the principals of JavaScript and apply for Web Design positions, not web developer.

    • @Storm-ib7uz
      @Storm-ib7uz Год назад

      Anyways I don’t know why I give you advice as I already know Css, Html, JavaScript and React and now learning web design and I still don’t have a job in the industry so good luck 😂 I’ll learn all these things and make apps even if I make them only for myself and nobody wants to pay me. I’ll learn it just because I decided I will and I didn’t stop doing so in the last year

    This is essentially a promotion for Webflow.
    While this is okay for people whose background is in graphic design and who don't see the need for learning web coding themselves, it may not be in the best interests of those of us proficient in HTML, CSS and JS.
    It will also be less efficient on a server than custom code.
    But more tellingly it may not provide the same visual impact as a custom coded website as to a large extent these Wix, Webflow or WordPress sites all have similar looks.
    Stock photos and icons versus real photos and custom icons ? One winner there.

      The focus here is on "web designers" not "web developers" I'm not saying amazing developers shouldn't code or that great websites don't require custom coding.

      @@FluxAcademy Ran, don't you realise that it's the site owner who *pays* in the end for the web designer's reluctance to learn how to implement a page design in anything other than WordPress, Wix or Webflow ?
      Don't you know how slow these CMS "engines" are ? How can we be sure our web visitors aren't being monitored by Wix, WP or WF ? Wix was devised by guys in the Israeli Defence Forces' Cyber Division, for Chrissakes.

    This guide is misleading and potentially harmful.
    While the RUclipsr may not intend harm, the guide encourages practices that violate privacy laws, accessibility guidelines, and potentially licenses. These issues are not mentioned, and the RUclipsr essentially instructs viewers to 'put a bag over their heads' and hope for the best. This is an irresponsible and unethical approach to teaching web design.
    The popularity of the video is deeply concerning, as viewers are under the impression that the guide is all they need to create a website. This is a false assumption, and the guide promotes a 'fast fashion' mentality, where websites are rushed to completion without regard for quality or ethical considerations. This can lead to serious consequences, including lawsuits and reputational damage.
    The RUclipsr should either cease teaching this harmful material or provide a comprehensive overview of all the relevant legal, accessibility, and licensing issues. They should also acknowledge the potential consequences of ignoring these standards.
    It's disappointing to see individuals like the RUclipsr prioritizing quick profits over creating high-quality, ethical websites. Web development should be about building genuine value for users, not about cutting corners and exploiting loopholes.
    Also, it's shocking that the data privacy framework was not mentioned at all. Not a single mention of GDPR or any other privacy laws, and the text on some of the elements was so small that it was unreadable! This is a major omission in a web design tutorial.
    I urge anyone who is considering following this guide to reconsider. It's not worth the risk of violating laws or creating a website that is inaccessible to a large portion of users.

    Web designers DESIGN websites. They don’t CREATE/BUILD websites! Web developers build websites (coding).

    the world is a shitty place, such jobs are much better paid than a plumber, for example, and to be a plumber you have to be much smarter and learn much more, but as I said, we live in a shitty world led by idiots

    Unfortunately, web page designers are not coders, HTML is NOT programming code, HTML just allows them to paint the web page, and because they did not learn any proper logical coding the majority of web pages are plagued with errors which is why so many are hacked. Thank god they will all soon be replaced by AI as I am fed up dealing with piss-poor web pages.

      Web designer are not coders. They should just design the websites, not build them.

      Problem with Wix is that it is not fully responsive (tablets and such). I’m moving away from Wix. Looking for something fully responsive.
