Very relaxing watching this (a little late after the fierce storm ripped thru our city). Tourism and people will back very soon so enjoy the rest of your trip!
We spent 4 months in Hoi An in 2020, glad our friends are able to work again in Hoi An. I know Chris and Carol were there as well. We will be back♥️🇨🇦 safe travels
Hoi An is a jewel! We were there three years ago when it was teeming with tourists. The locals must have suffered so much from the lack of visitors. It’s so nice to see that it has reopened.
Hoi An before the covid-19 pandemic welcomed nearly 10 million international visitors in 2019. Everything was vibrant, bustling and busy. Now you are the first to experience its peaceful, quiet and lovely features. Soon it will be crowded and bustling again
You guys are in my favorite city in Vietnam! I was in Vietnam in 2009 and 2012. I love Hoi An! It has that old world French Indo-China vibe to it. I have many pics of me with that bridge. Shocking to see the lack of tourists there in the daytime. Wow!!
WOW! What a great time to visit this stunning city!! The river truly came alive at night beautiful! Another fabulous video guys! Thanks for taking us along! ~Cara 😊
It's been about 5 years since I last saw one of your videos, and I'm glad I found you guys again. I am loving all these facts, explanations, and tour! Hoi An is a fascinating and beautiful place. I hope to visit one day.
Hoi An in Vietnam looks like a captivating place to visit during the day and is absolutely spectacular at night, with the lighted lanterns and boat rides adding an air of romanticism. Great video capturing the beauty of this city!
Hi to both of you from the Annapolis Valley. Hubby and I had a lovely afternoon picnic at Kingsport beach in 30 degree weather today. It was lovely. We have been waiting all week for your video from Hoi An. It is so beautiful and exciting. thank You so much for sharing your wonderful experiences with us. Your skill planning, filming and editing make your experience come alive for all your viewers. What a privilege to share this with you. Thank You! Apple Blossom Festival in the Annapolis Valley begins this week. First festival since 2019 and people here are really looking forward to the festival atmosphere once more.
Awe so appreciate the kind words Jean. That means the world to us 🥰 It's so great the Apple Blossom Festival is going to take place this year as well. How exciting! - Anna
Thank you for sharing this beautiful video. You are right it’s usually crowded. You can explore the city without disturbing. Have fun. Take care and stay safe !

That’s a temple on the bridge. I’ve walked over it in the past without paying. But they do have a tour package that includes entrance to the bridge and other historic buildings. I’m going to Hoi An again soon 😀 btw you can easily get a nice room for $20 a night
Looking forward to visit HoiAn for the 1st time too. Your video of Hoi An is so gorgeous, i did not want it to end. Love your style & picks. Love it. What part of the US is your accent? Very nice. :)
@@DelightfulTravellers Thank you. Eastcost Canadian accents are perfect for TV, news, very nice with more centered French's vowels, where west coast accents are more in the 'mask' or brighter, like Vancouver BC accent, which is more like Portland OR accent. Both are lovely for the ears.
I don’t know, after watching you in for so long in the Dominican Republic 🇩🇴 I kind of got so used to to this tropical paradise! But thanks for the new adventure!
Is definitely empty 😭even at night 🌃. I was there in 2019 December right before covid19 hit🛑and it was packed!!!! Is actually my favorite city in Vietnam!!! Hopefully it get back to normal days!!!!!

They said in the video- they got it fot $2.50 (which is 50K in local currency- hence the woman saying "50"). I don't think he paid attention to your question. 😂
Another great one 💕 Just confused with the price of the boat ride. Did you pay $50US for both, or in VDN? Because right after you mentioned $2.50... Thanks for clarifying:)
One of my favorite burger places in the world used to be in Vietnam (Hanoi)! It was called "Chops". Super cheap (as a foreigner, at least), and so freakin' good! Hoi An is super pretty. Would love to go back some day.
I’m travelling to Vietnam in the next month. Can I rent a bike from Hanoi and end it in Ninh Binh ? I’m planning to ride from Hanoi-> Cat Ba-> Ninh Binh and end the ride in Ninh Binh . From Ninh Binh, I’m taking a train to Hoi An .

Totally agree with you. Considering the country is opening up from the pandemic. That is the issue with some foreigners coming and taking advantage of the situation.

I am confused a bit. At the beginning of your video, when you are walking down the empty street, you both verbalize empathy for the businesses and how hard it must have been without tourists for the last two years. Then you haggle a boat ride, down to half aka as you quote $2.50 USD from $5.00 USD. Which is it? I understand your trying to portray a realistic picture of what its like being a tourist in Vietnam, however haggling over $2:50 ? That doesn't sound like a lot of empathy to me. All said, great video and content, but that's a mixed message. It cant be both.
We could have explained this better in the video but it all happened fast. Basically we got prices of 50vnd from a half dozen people. Also the lady we were looking for ‘Everest’ told us that price the night before (that’s who we were looking for) We wanted to support her. Then these ladies (who were very nice) found us and doubled the price. So that’s why we brought it up. We weren’t just being sticklers here. If you have multiple options to buy the same thing you’re of course going to go with the less expensive offer. It’s normal to barter in Vietnam as well. It’s often expected. Remember, we don’t film everything so you wouldn’t know if we tipped or the fact that 15 mins before this we bought quite a lot off a vendor to support her and her family after hearing her story. We’re also here in Vietnam spending hundreds (probably thousands) of dollars supporting the country and people - Trevor
Why did you quibble about such a small amount of money for the boat ride? We loved Hoi An and a couple of extra dollars out of your pocket means the world to many Vietnamese people. Often they rent the boats etc and have to give a cut to the bosses. Extra can go in their pocket. Same with Cambodia if they charge $3 for a tuk tuk ride give 5.
I agree. I think they gave you a short ride because you cut the price. And sometimes they give you the little candles to put in the water and make a wish
Gina... everywhere around the river we were getting a price of 50vnd from others. So when we hear that price over and over again we're naturally going to assume that's the fee. Not 100vnd. Plus how do you know we didn't tip them? We don't film everything ✌️ - Trevor
@@DelightfulTravellers you gave a very different impression and I’m super glad to hear that isn’t the way you do things. Glad it wasn’t your intention. Wondering why it didn’t cost to go across the Japanese bridge could be a hangover from being shut down for so long. I could tell you the ridiculous tale of Siem Reap and the super over priced wooden bead bracelet and being chased down the market.
