So pleased that Jan has managed to push through and is a fantastic activist getting so much public exposure

An absorbing and ultimately most positive account. I want to acknowledge Jan’s personal struggles over the years - especially when he was still “in”. Depression is definitely a “black fog” for many in the organization because its narrative is heavily controlling and punitive. Who could escape such depression? The best quote: “My children are amazing...” Thank goodness that Jan’s children were not old enough to have been permanently indoctrinated into the organization and they have two parents who love them unconditionally. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I share Lloyd's outrage that some congregation members would pick up Jan's daughter after school without the parents' knowledge! That is absolutely unacceptable! Remember how the Society keeps claiming that parents alone are responsible for their children's safety because JWs never do anything to separate children from their parents and can therefore not be held responsible for abuse. And here some congregation members abuse their position of trust with a child and meet up with the child, knowingly going behind the parents' back! It just boggles your mind.

I believe that some part of the emotional value his father felt for the guitar books had to do with remembering his son learning and playing them. He may be holding on to them for that reason alone. It is an interest they both held, even though they never directly shared it. It was shared through the books.
That might be true. It was a heartbreaking experience either way. Probably for both of us. I wish he could have had some words for me, though. Just a few. As the others did...
You are too charitable towards Jan's father. Asking for the guitar books to be returned is a mean way of the father taking from his son two books that meant so very much to the son. The father would intend that gesture as a way to communicate to his son complete rejection. No way was asking for the return of the books a gesture of connection.

Hi Lloyd , is there anyway I can chat privately with you please. At the moment I do not want to chat about this on a public forum.. my situation is driving me crazy , thanks P
Wonderful interview. Glad he is healing. Can you tell me why jw,'s cannot smoke, i know bad for you but doesn't alter thinking, but can drink alcohol? No one has ever answered these questions.
In their opinion, smoke is bad because it will probably kill you someday. And the bible says that life is sacred. Drinking isn’t bad because if you just drink a little you don’t lose control. Besides they have their “examples” in the bible, important people drinking a bit of alcohol, so it must be good and allowed. If you get drunk, that’s where the problem begin, even though there are so many jw getting drunk in private. And that’s the lifestyle of many many jw: tell the others what is bad and what is good, but keep doing whatever you want without being seen. Hope it can answer your question :)
They are fundamentalists. They follow the bible literally, no matter if it makes sense or not. They drink alcohol because people in the biblical stories drank alcohol and even when they got drunk like Noah after the flood, and Lot after the destruction of sodom and gomorrah, (and terrible acts were commited because of their drunkenness) Even though, alcohol is allowed because the biblical culture allows it and there is no verse that forbids it. Remember, even Christ drank wine with his followers during their last supper together. About smoking, JW were allowed to smoke like 50 years ago more or less, then the order came from "upstairs" to stop smoking and the JW who disrespected that new rule were disfellowshipped (I do not know if anybody disassociated or not because ot this issue).
Yeah, I wish leaving religion was like leaving an MLM group. When I was a Muslim, I joined an MLM (cringe, I know lol) and I just quit. That's it, no dramas required. After I openly said I was an exmuslim, my father disowned me. Thank goodness my mother is accepting. She understands me because she converted before marrying my father, and she's always known there's something weird in the religion but she never thinks further about it. She didn't even know Muhammad married a 6 year old until I told her about it. She is still a practicing Muslim, but I don't know what's going on in her mind.
The Elders in the South Dakota congregation did not believe the Abuse my daughter was experiencing... their comment was we like ... ! They cared nothing for her and her 3 children. He ended up in Prison and is now a felon 🤷♀️.
46mins in you talk about an article that shunning isn’t a thing.. can you show us or the link to this article please in the JW .org website? I’d love to see x
Yes true they are accountable Again this elders nor the men from Warwick .are fallowing the scripture s NO “ they don’t” In 1 Peter 2: 13-14. Said; For the lords sake subject yourself to every human creation; weather to a king as. Being superior, or governor as being sent by him to inflict punishments on evildoers . So yes you if you are reading this you do have the right to call The police . Jehovah is not going to get upset. He made this law. In Romans 13: 1-4. Bye and take care”
He's a bigger man than I'll ever be regarding family shunning. He holds no grudge against family members as individuals because the religion has made them think a certain way. I'll have to disagree, though if it works for him, we're all doing what we have to in the aftermath of having been part of this shit show. I actually do blame my parents and siblings and children for allowing their thought process to even entertain such a ridiculous notion. There was a choice. They made it. There are also stories of parents whose children left the org and when told they needed to shun their children, they told the elders to f*** off, those are my children, NOBODY tells me I can or cannot love and have a relationship with them. That is how it is done! How many times do people make the obviously void remark that they would die for their kids? Take a bullet? So, even if they were somehow still believers in the twisted man-made policy, they would NOT die for their kids, as it turns out. They would treat their living children as dead in order to save their own ass in the eyes of the organization. I cannot and will not forgive that.
@paige Lundie , I think maybe he's been frolicking outside the bunker occasionally.....or is there a hidden junk room that has a solarium tucked away in the corner? 😂🤣

I wonder how many JW woul handle and endure all their peculiar rules and choking religious environment if they were not allowed to drink alcohol.
@@mariacardoso1477 thank you for explaining even better! A very little few of them would still be jw if they could not drink alcoholic anymore.
@@kuro3168 You are very welcome
Wow they do lie. I thought we are not supposed to lie
Me and øyvind djupvik (the cirquit overseer mentioned) was in Russia together.
Why does government give money to religions in Norway? They are already tax free anyways?
Heia Norge!
Awesome change up of videography choices
My J-Dub family didn't even say goodbye. They just cut me off entirely. During one weekend, I lost all my J-Dub family and so-called friends.
