Shouldn't you give the credit to Portishead for actually writing Glory Box - you seem to be pushing this as your song unless someone points it out that it's actually Portishead...
@@hhpp6911 Portishead has been credited at the start of the video description since day 1. This is one of very few tracks on my channel that is built on someone else's song, so maybe I could have done better in terms of clarifying that. I was working under the assumption that for anyone who knows the band - or checks out the band - it's very VERY obvious this is Glory Box
Thank you!!!! I could jam to this for hours. It's Portishead meets "Twin Peaks Fire walk with me"... and the song "The Pink Room". Takes me back 20 years ago and going to a strip club in the middle of the woods, off a dark side road beyond the highway. It was winter, snowy, and cold, with the glow of the neon sign outside the small rustic club. The moment the dancer came on and picked Portishead for her song I knew she was the one that was going to move me.....and she did move so dark, passionately and slow.
@@JeighNeither Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, actually, to me, it sounds just like "Teardrop". I am entitled to my opinion, just like you are. I don't think it sounds anything like "Glory Box". Jesus Christ...go bother someone else. Byeeeeee.
@@hunterreed1010 Teardrop was by Massive attack. And I'm plus one-ing on this being basically a Glory box backing track. I think you might have your songs (and artists) confused. (Love it by the way Quist - thx)
Cheers for this! I've been playing guitar since '86 and loved the whole Trip Hop scene of the 90s but have rarely jammed over something like this, it's splendid! Thank you! Great fun to combine natural minor with blues here, play some soulful lines the combine with golden shred marmalade.
Quist! you are great dude! all of this tracks that are really a useful tool for all. Really well made and a great background ambient music too. Thanks!
GREAT for Sun Ra harmonic experiments!! Get a really off sounding scale that connects barely to the structure going on, but makes sense with the backing. Use the distant scale for a improvised melody/theme.... then shred 16th note triplets and some 32nd note runs during the space. This is a great track for organizing outside harmony while still creating a theme.
What a great backing track. I was unable to play guitar for a while due to a broken wrist in a motorcycle accident and searching for random stuff to improvise over. Really fun track to jam too, the intro solo is nice as well.
Love the long, laid back trip hop feel. Awesome to play on. God, I remember buying Jamey Aebersold play-along books for this shit, the future is now. I have been trying to improve my bass (main inst.), guitar and trumpet playing, this is so much fun to play on, so easy to not sound shit. Cool beanz dude!
Very tasty guitar work, great to jam to. Excellent production - cool parts in all the right places. Not overly distorted tones mixed with clean tones. Subtle use of effects. Well done, sir!
Another great track. I always try to play along with at least one of your tracks in the morning, before work, just so I feel good when I start the day :-)
Ahh... didn't mean to be so mysterious, your track has a really great vibe and an awesome groove, I have it now where I can work it and It is similar (to me anyway) to some I've been working on "Dance Hall Day's", "Pop Life", "Gold On The Ceiling" and "Bang A Gong". I had a vocal pattern come to me that I think can work well with this track. This track is right for the same kind of vocal treatment I've used on the others and there is a certain sound that runs common to all and if I can pull it together on my side it could be one of those infectious winner's that people really feel compelled to play over and over. It's my intention any way, I will send you something, I am going to spin it a few times in just a minute and see if I can get what I hope I can.
I have the framework done and am beginning to tighten it up, it takes me several times and a few days to get something shaped right then repetition to get it right but I will be glad to send you a mix as it get's into shape.
Thanks man, been months since I've picked up my guitar seriously, and this brought out the inspiration. I love how you kill everything and have just the drum.

Just spent a very enjoyable hour improvising to this on my fretless bass. This track is so good, the lead is optional! Thanks!
+Carlos Grau that's awesome!!
feeding it into my system ...will be doing the same...by chance did you record any of your bass?
mil gracias maestro
Fun isn't it?
I love Portishead! Nice job
GIVE ME A REASON TO LOVE YOUUUUU
Yesssssss 🤟
Hahaha, yeah, i always sing Glory Box lyrics while playing this.
lately, i fell asleep amongst the flower, for a couple of hours, what a beautiful day.
...and still jammed through the song. This channel is my savior
c9chord AAAAAWESOME :)
"Still my guitar..." Great track. I could play bass over it forever

Damn that was fun to jam to. Lots of gain, echo, and reverb with a good dose of tremolo and I almost couldn't sound bad.
Quality !!!!! Portishead days for sure also love the tom Morrello one. Liked and subscribed
Yo this backing track changed my life. I don't know how but please never take it down
This is going straight into my 'Dope Backing Tracks' playlist

Always was a Portishead, Tricky fan. Maybe I'll Massively Attack this for an hour.
This is the Pun Police, and you've been busted for your busted-ass punary!
@@JeighNeither Lol. It was pretty lame.
bro this reminds me of Portishead & "Teardrop"....this is the BEST jam track. THANK YOU! Love the slide guitar in there man!
Uh, it really sounds nothing like Teardrop, but it's basically note for note "Glory Box", by Portishead, and some old blues guy.

I had this on and played the solo to bold as love. It hits DIFFERENT
Awesome... I love jamming to Glory Box by Portishead, so I'm really digging this! Thank you!!
Coool!! Yes, Glory Box is such a dang masterpiece.. And just makes you want to get creative...
I absolutely love this, 20 years before it was a 90's thing, it was a 70's thing, either way, it's an awesome thing.
