This movie is an attempt to capture the intricacies of gamete manipulation within the IVF Lab. This is the journey of an oocyte right from the moment it is being aspirated from mature ovarian follicles, till the time it is being fertilized by ICSI and cultured till it becomes a Blastocyst.
We have tried to show the process of oocyte screening, denudation of Oocyte Cumulous Complex, Sperm Immobilization and ICSI (Itra Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection) Once oocytes have been fertilized using ICSI, they are kept in Benchtop incubator for further development.
Assessment of fertilization is performed 16 to 17 hrs post OPU. Assessment of progress is done on Day 3 and Day 5. We have tried to capture Embryo Grading on Day 3 and Day 5.
Video also shows process of Embryo Transfer wherein a single healthy 4AA grade Blastocyst is being loaded into an Embryo Transfer Catheter and then transferred to Uterine Cavity under ultrasound guidance.
ICSI is a boon for patients with Male Infertility, where fertilization is assisted using ICSI machine In Vitro.
Entire video was shot in house by our team using mobile phones and camera's attached to our microscopes. Video was scripted, created and edited by our Embryologist's.

I did my egg retrieval yesterday they got 10 eggs I just got a call from my IVF doctor all 10 matured & all 10 made it to fertilization🙏🏻I’m crying god is so good now we wait🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

@@bumblebea1773 they retrieved 10 eggs all 10 got fertilized and matured couple weeks later actually last Friday they called me 7 out of 10 became blastocyst 5 out 7 came back normal for PGTA chromosome testing and 5 ARE ALL BOYSSSSS😫😫😫😫🩵🌈my transfer is at the end of September into beginning of October I’ll keep you updated

Love the concise video. Not in the video is the behind the scenes preparation of all the required needles of 2 shots per day weeks before the egg retrieval operation. Then taking hormones and other blood work that lead up to the implantation, and the multiple legs in the air vaginal ultrasounds. Men, you better appreciate your woman!

How do you know that the sperm you picked is free of genetic disease?
Genetic competence of a sperm cannot be judged based on morphological assessment alone. Till date there is no test that will help one choose a genetically correct sperm in real time.

if only one or two sperm present in semen so we can done icsi procedure.
Technically Yes. There are methods of even cryopreserving rare sperms. ICSI is meant for such cases. However it takes hell lot of experience and patience to locate the sperms.
do they take the egg out before injecting it with the sperm and then putting it back inside or how does it work?
Yes, eggs are taken out from body, fertilized in IVF Lab, embryos cultured in IVF Lab incubators, and the embryos are then transferred to the uterus.
