The difference is that China is a socialist market economy and the US is a free market economy. In a free market economy, things are much relaxed, with less government intervention. That's why you can't buy land in China but you can here.
Also, I would like to point out, that there are lots of US companies in China, just to name a few, Disneyland, Starbucks, Taco bell, Costco, Sams, Boeing, Tesla, etc. You can also buy a home in China, too. So, it's not really that much different.

    • @QuantizedAxiom

@@jukio02 I wanted to help you a bit with your clarification but to add to your last point the reason why those companies are allowed in is BECAUSE China isn't a pure socialist market economy. It transitioned to a mixed economy after 1978 and runs similarly to a free-market economy.
But many people don't understand this nor can they grasp the concept of other countries entering the USA when the USA literally does it to everyone else in the world. It's a very hypocritical concept in my opinion.

This is the part of economic theory that gets overlooked in academic discussions. Normally international trade is discussed in terms of goods & services. But there is nothing to prevent one trading partner from using an imbalance of payments to buy the other country's assets instead. We've seen it happen before when the imbalance existed with Japan. They tended to buy urban real estate in the form of landmark buildings. The Chinese seem to like buying manufacturing operations and port facilities. The Saudis like buying American land that gets them water rights. The solution is not legislation and out right bans, but to get your balance of payments back in order and keep it there.

Larry Sinclair, the man who, in 1999, while in Chicago, he did cocaine with Barry and then performed oral sex on Barry. This is a tale that Sinclair has told before. It’s worth noting because it reminds us of the partnership between the media and the democrat party. There were also some interesting details about big tech and a strange death, or maybe a few strange deaths.
It's very amusing when, after hearing Sinclair detail how he shared drugs with Barry and performed oral sex on him, Tucker asked Sinclair if that left a bad taste in his mouth, and Sinclair said that it did. Tucker and Sinclair were obviously speaking about the entire two-day interlude, from first meeting Barry to never seeing the man again, but I can be remarkably literal and, well, you get the joke. So we have a gay coke head muslim that hates the USA, surprise, surprise!!!
There were two interesting parts of the interview with which I was not familiar. The first was Sinclair’s discussion about how the media and big tech went after him. Some media outlets lied about Sinclair’s criminal history, and then dismissed him as a criminal and a crackpot.
Others blacked out the story after the presidential campaign said that, if they reported on it, the campaign would blacklist them. They chose access over investigative reporting and honesty. They also chose it over national security. After all, a president with a secret life of drugs and gay sex is perfectly situated to be blackmailed, with huge national security consequences. But for the national political media, getting a black man into the White House was more important than America’s well-being.
Sinclair also explained that he was very quickly locked out of RUclips. RUclips gave someone else access to his account after he took a polygraph test and then deleted the video. Microsoft, meanwhile, allowed someone else access to his Hotmail account, with that person circulating his emails on the internet and creating an obscene automatic response to any emails sent to the account.
The second interesting thing was Sinclair explaining how, in late 2007, he reached out to the campaign suggesting that the campaign stop telling all sorts of conflicting stories about Barry’s drug use. The campaign, he said, should just admit that Obama was still using drugs at least as late as 1999. Sinclair didn’t hear back from the campaign. Instead, he heard from Donald Young, who explained that the campaign wouldn’t acknowledge any sex or drug stories about Obama.
According to Sinclair, Young eventually told him that he was the gay choirmaster at the Reverend Wright’s church, the one where Obama sat in the pews for 20 years as Wright blasted America. He also said that he had a long-term “intimate” relationship with Obama. Not long after that, Young was murdered in his apartment. Young’s mother believes that it was to silence him.
Searching Young’s name on the internet and came across an anti-Obama article from 2009. According to this article, Young was one of three gay men in Wright’s congregation who were executed within less than two months of each other. The local media suspected a gay killing rampage. However, the 2009 article suggests that they were killed because it’s possible that all three, not just Young, could have talked about Barry !X!X!

@@rmanbike What is it that Americans don’t understand about China?
They don’t know how capitalist China is. China’s rapid economic growth is the result of its embrace of a market economy and private enterprise. China is among the most open markets in the world: It is the largest trading nation and also the largest recipient of foreign direct investment, surpassing the United States in 2020. The major focus of government expenditure is domestic infrastructure. China now has better highways, rail systems, bridges, and airports than the United States does. For example, over the past 15 years it has built the longest high-speed rail system in the world. At 22,000 miles, it is twice as long as the rest of the world’s combined. China’s high-speed rail could cover the distance between Boston and Chicago in about four hours, whereas Amtrak’s fastest service takes 22 hours. One reason China can spend so much on infrastructure is that its defense budget, after years of increases, is still only about a quarter that of the United States.

Just a layperson here, but something that might be worth bearing in mind: the person in the report noted that "China is not an ally - it's an adversary." This is true. It is also true that every country - without exception - is either (a) an adversary or (b) a potential adversary. Sad, but that's history.

There are tons of American-owned businesses in China, from big to small. Should China ban American ownership too? I, as an American citizen, legally own a home in Shanghai. Should China outlaw my ownership? Come on... it is perfectly natural for people to conduct business and have ownership across the borders.

2:42 At this point, I think it's fair to enact laws that prohibit the sale of US owned land to ANY foreigner who is either a known threat against the US, or if discovered to be working with or for a foreign country after a sale, the property is immediately and permanently stripped from the foreigner and any and all improvements, products or intellectual secrets developed on or for the business/farm are also now the property of the US. No hearings or appeals, straight up kicked out. This business of working this type of threat through a legal court system is bogus. The foreign agents or agencies have no legal rights and should not be afforded them. 🤷‍♀️

Unfortunately we're not gonna have any choice but to discriminate because the CCP mixes actions. I.E. They use civilian operatives to accomplish their goals just as much as anyone directly employed by their government. That means we will not be able to differentiate and will have to discriminate against all Chinese. We could get involved and help overthrow the CCP ourselves but I'm sure there would be significant push back to that idea. And even if we did the CCP has brainwashed so many of their populace that many of the civilians put the party up on a pedestal. That fact puts us right back at having to discriminate against all of them. I think the only way we could avoid discriminating against all of them is if a mass uprising within the populace happened and overthrew the party themselves. Even then they would have to weed out all the loyal "little pinks" among them to completely eradicate the party.

    • @DarkSkay

China isn't self-sufficient in terms of food. Significant stockpiling could be interpreted as part of preparations for the possibility of a large conflict.
The more opaque, manipulative, unfriendly the behaviour of the CCP, the more cautious existing and potential business partners will become. Western companies lost a large amount of investments in Russia when they had to leave after the invasion of Ukraine.
The frosty political climate that has always surrounded the ideology of the CCP, now more assertively combines with expansionist ambitions, collides with Western hegemony, thus cools down expectations... to make big buck on the back of unfree Chinese workers like in the last decades.
BTW a peculiar model: the declared communist holds the whip for the capitalist.
There are plenty of booming markets around the globe. The CCP will do its thing, keeping China way under societal and economic potential (just compare to flourishing Taiwan) - as it has historically done since the party's creation. With the paradoxical situation of adversaries who want to contain China being quite satisfied with the "performance" of the CCP in this regard.
