for me arnold in the first predator was the ultimate movie, it still gives me the chills when i watch it again.. such a movie cannot be made again...no matter how many parts come..it will still be the classic...

There were predators killed with shit like the katana sword in AvP movies already, stop bitching about it, not every predator is elite they have some low ranks too, also they sometimes want to fight 1v1 instead of just killing the enemy, I guess they got bored too.

I think the director was looking at how far back the Aliens were about but you are right they could have done a brilliant follow up from Alien vs Predator.

This looks good..at least as good as Predators. Yes I would of preferred it in the native language of the Comanche. The Predator respects the hunt and the hunters. In the other movies, one of the Predators gives a human a flintlock pistol, clearly a trophy that had been taken hundreds of years prior. It's not that our technology baffles them or is inherently a threat to them, it's that we hunt and we're intelligent prey, smart enough to fight back. That's how you earn respect from a Predator.

So in the first movie we needed a highly trained, battle hardened huge muscled man to take down the predator by an inch of his life and with a lot of heavy artillery and bombs and booby traps. But in the 5th movie spinoff, we only need an 80lb high school girl with a bow, to take down a predator with more advanced weapons and much more experience? Got it.

If 'strong woman' is a requirement, there was an awesome AvP comic series about a woman adopted by the Predators and fights for status in the tribe. Eventually they go hunt at an Waylan Yutani research base and run into marines who are also clearing out the base of a Xenomorph infestation. Such a good 4 or 5 part series. Read it as a kid and still love the story

Interesting take. I'll watch it out of curiosity.
Some clues for Predator fans. Naru is what Comanches called a 'contrary', and that is a Plains Indian tradition. She wants to hunt, so she goes out an antagonizes a bear for no reason. (No she is not trying to kill it with her little bow). Even her dog thinks she is nuts. She set a not-very-good trap for the bear, and it does not work. So who saves the day? The Predator! He sees Naru as a brave but foolish little creature, and he steps in like any good instructor would. I think the twist here will be Yoda/Luke; and that is part of the Predator novels. Look up Mako Noguchi, aka 'Little Knife'.

This takes place in 1719, the gun that the predator gives to danny glover in predator 2 at the end has the year 1715, there could be a connection there.
Fun Fact: That gun had the name 'Raphael Andolini' on it; and, that was the original, real surname of Vito Corleone in 'The Godfather' [he changed it to hide from Sicilian mobsters who had tried to kill him as a child]. I like to think that the old Predator who handed Danny Glover's character that old gun had found one of Vito Corleone's old ancestors/relatives to be a worthy adversary.

Why in the hell is there "Why do you want to hunt? ... Because you all think that a can't" It literally shows what the movie is going to be about.
Imagine the ego this girl has. The tribe "hunts to live" as the trailer says, so it is a daily challange to even feed themselves. The girl on the other hand, insted of doing some other crucial job assigned to her just wants to hunt because she can.

I'm a Predator fan and watched all the movies even Aliens and the Aliens vs. Predator franchise. This looks like an interesting twist to see how the hunters will fight the Predator cos they can still win even without advanced tech like once they find out its weaknesses they can use those against it as been shown in the past Predator movies. Hope to also see a Predator origin story and a sequel to Predators. Happy hunting! 😈👍🏻

It will be interesting to see if the Predator only uses edged weapons. Forgoing the plasma caster would be a necessity and strictly overkill. Also hopefully the main protagonist will not be too much of a Mary Sue to ruin the movie.
