    Good ole classic planes I once flew a plane like that (im a pilot) had a hell of a time starting the thing though cause it sat un-started for nearly a year, but was cool to get to fly one of those types of planes

    Its excellent! With the addition of the Accusim crew and some MCE assistance, I think this lovely aircraft could be flown very realistically. Bravo!

    Thanks David glad you enjoyed. Yes the workload certainly gets up there at times. Esp. on the long flights up to 35k + feet and back, it really takes its toll. Just tonight I completed such a flight (2+ hrs), with no co-pilot assist; it's those countless cowl flap/intercooler/throttle/turbo adjustments that over time really build the fatigue. Thankfully A2A have a co-pilot feature that can control the cowls/intercoolers and RPM for you, but sometimes I like doing it all myself hehe. ;)

    Differential braking is achieved via my rudder pedals. I use CH Products rudder pedals which feature toe braking. I believe you can bind the left and right brakes to the keyboard too if you don't have hardware brakes. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.

    I would recommend the "909" repaint! I think you would quite like it! You get the feel of an old aircraft, you know what i mean!? Awesome nose art and 'old' engines look! And the "909" still flies today!!! Maybe something for your next Video??

    Hi David, there are menus (accessed by pressing SHIFT 2, 3, etc) which allow you to issue commands to the 'crew' inside the plane. These are specific to the A2A planes. Thanks for watching.

    Never thought I'd see such a detailed simulation outside of PMDG! This product looks like a real beaut! Given that the Fort was designed to be flown with a co-pilot, do you find your workload is rather high? Then there's the navigation! It would be fascinating to re-create a WW2 mission, but without the FW190's...;) Thanks for the movie.

  • @HarmanMotorWorks

    The A2A B17 doesn't simulate the Norden bombsight unfortunately, however it is possible to drop a bomb load manually from the pilot's seat by activating the 'bomber call' switch.
    You may see an example of this action in one of my other videos entitled 'FSX - A2A B17 Emergency Procedures' on this channel. Cheers.

    Hey man, great video. I'm pretty sure I'm going to grab this beast! I'm assuming you are using track IR and Ez dok.. but I'm baffled as to how you have it set up so sweet. I have never used ez dok, and I just bought FSFX Chase Plane to try it out. No idea how to set it up they way you have.

    • @HarmanMotorWorks
      @HarmanMotorWorks  7 лет назад

      Hey mate thanks for the comment. I've found with EzDok to experiment
      with the settings and reduce some of the sensitivities somewhat. With
      TrackIR, I also normally reduce the "speed" setting down to about 2.7.
      Smooth is set to "50" (max in my TrackIR software). I've also had more
      luck using the TrackClip rather than the TrackClip Pro. Hope this helps!

    Good flight/landing, I love this plane, too. A2A-Sim.-Planes are a kind of Celebration. Since i have some of them (C172 Trainer / B-17G / B-377 / P-51 Mustang), I have deleted all other planes out of my "airplanes"-folder, exept one: "PMDG 737-800NG" because when you fly them for a while, common fsx-planes are boooooring, and feal like dead arcade paper planes.

    I think I can see some primitive VOR/NDB? Near the top of the front panel.
    What nav aids can this use? Could be fun for VFR X-country flying

    Excellent video. Thanks for uploading it. I was wondering if you have the option of getting the temperature readouts on the gauges in fahrenheit as well as centigrade. I assume that the real B-17 had readouts in fahrenheit, but I'm not sure. Thanks.

    • @HarmanMotorWorks
      @HarmanMotorWorks  10 лет назад

      Hi Jeff, thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed the video. As far as I know, the actual B17 had Celsius readings for the gauges which has always intrigued me. As far as the simulation goes, it may be possible to set FSX to 'Imperial' measurement mode so that at least the tool tips for the gauges show Fahrenheit readings. I haven't tested this however. Cheers.

      Harman Motor Works Hi. Thanks for getting back to me. That's interesting. I tried to find a close-up photo or diagram of the B-17 instrument panel that would show this, but the ones I found didn't have enough resolution for me to tell. Happy flying!

    Hello, terrific video you have made here. I have a question though, how do you taxi it like that? Because out of all the things I can do in this aircraft, taxiing is the one thing I have trouble with. I am guess I am not used to a tail-dragger. Any tips you can offer to me regarding taxiing this bird?

    • @HarmanMotorWorks
      @HarmanMotorWorks  10 лет назад

      Hi Cory sorry if I hadn't yet replied to this; I find that using differential brakes and also "differential engines" helps a lot. Having hardware pedals and separate throttles makes achieving this fairly straightforward. Cheers.

    Sir when do i need to use 91 octeen fuel? And what is the Alternate Inverter? When do I use this 'setting' ??? Please...?? Really wanne know please sir!? And when do you make a nother vid with this aircraft? (B17)

    • @HarmanMotorWorks
      @HarmanMotorWorks  10 лет назад

      Hello, the 91 octane fuel option simulates war-time fuel availability and is probably not recommended as you can't run maximum power settings with it safely. Inside the cockpit just above the manifold pressure gauges, there is a small chart with the octane levels and power settings allowed for each. The akternate inverter is basically a backup inverter system in case the main inverter fails (speaking off hand right now, but pretty sure that's correct!). Hopefully in the near future I'll do more vids of this plane (and the others!). Cheers and thanks for watching!

    Hello dude great video, when I'm ready to taxi with the b-17 it doesn't seem to want to turn, using rudder any reason for this?

    • @HarmanMotorWorks
      @HarmanMotorWorks  9 лет назад

      Louis Doran Hi Louis, if you have rudder pedals with toe brakes, apply one side braking whilst you have the rudder turned. That will activate the differential brakes and turn the plane. You can also map keyboard keys to left and right brakes. Without the differential brakes the plane won't really turn otherwise. I hope this helps!
