Prayers for all the victims and those affected by this devastation
Flashbacks when you see your community hit. An EF4 hit Washington, IL on Nov 17th, 2013 while at church - whole town pretty much hit w/ a lot of damage, homes knocked off their foundation, businesses wiped out, but yet our church stood w/ only a 2x4 in the roof and the tornado just barely missed us. Our church was the central hub b/c we had Caterpillar generators brought in. They organized something called "Loads of Love" and members took laundry to their homes to wash clothing for these people who lost everything. I remember doing 13 loads that day for people and having to shake off dirt/insulation, etc., and return it the next day to church. Jessica, thank you for all the hard work you do w/ this wonderful channel.

I couldn’t finish watching this because I am crying. I couldn’t imagine losing my loved ones. My daughter and and son in law lived in the neighborhood across the street from this one when he was in military. They moved 4 years ago from there. My prayers go out to everyone there. So heart breaking…..
It really hits close to home right? It just that eerie feeling of how it could have easily been you or your loved ones.
The tornado footage is absolutely terrifying. I live in Hendersonville and the tornado missed my house by less than a mile. I have never felt so blessed and grateful in my life. My thoughts and prayers are and have been with the victims of this disaster.
It missed us by 2 miles! So thankful! I’m glad you were spared as well! 🩷

Gosh that footage and pictures of the tornado was so hard to watch I just cried 😢. I went through a tornado in May of 99 had two little girls and 8 months pregnant with my third child we lost everything . I will be saying prayers 🙏 for the families . Years ago Elie, Manitoba got hit with a F5 tornado and only a couple houses got it, my aunty, Uncle and dog went to the basement and put a mattress over them, there house was totally gone, and the only spot that never got touched was were they were hiding, Thank God they got out safe.

We had a tornado go through our area about 10 years ago. My dad had a tree fall on his truck and the house right next to his head (he was laying on the ground taking cover). He had a pond at the time and all the fish were killed also because they loss oxygen. But, miraculously, his house was the only one left standing where he was. He lived in an old farmhouse, so the construction may have been different, but all the houses around it looked like a wrecking ball had just leveled them. It was so devastating to witness! Prayers for your community.
I’m so glad he’s ok. It’s absolutely crazy how tornadoes work. Literally homes completely gone while others virtually untouched!

The most terrifying part is there was no storm. It was a gloomy day but not storming at all. It just came out of absolutely nowhere.

Cleanup will be on-going, but we are all doing as much as we can. It is so emotional. I still have terrible worry from when the 2020 tornado came through and hit my neighborhood. Prayers for all...

How heartbreaking. I am from the Northeast and we USUALLY don't get tornados. I cannot imagine how scary this is and how heartbreaking for the families. I am glad your family is ok. My heart goes out to those families who lost family and their homes.
Oh my, it's so hard to watch & my heart goes out to the families that lost loved ones. It's hard to see your home destroyed but devastating for a lives to be lost.
I just sat here & cried. I went through a hurricane, but like you, there was more damage to other areas of my town than right were we lived. Prayers for everyone.

Jessi, I am so sorry. I am glad your family is safe! I can’t imagine the grief in your community right now. How very scary and devastating to go through that. Tornadoes are not common where I live, but one of my sons is currently living in Indiana and they had to take shelter a few weeks ago for a tornado warning. I pray you all find comfort.

It’s so heartbreaking to see all the devastation these tornadoes did to our community. The lives that are gone is the most devastating. It truly puts things in perspective when you see all they did so quickly. You are right our community will and has pulled together to help our neighbors in need. That day it didn’t look like we were going to have all this happen it started raining and the wind started blowing and the warnings started going off. I believe the news said it was 3 tornadoes and winds speed of 150 miles. EF-3

My husband medically retired in 2019 and we moved back home. Our old neighborhood here was hit very hard as well. We had friends from our church get hit with the tornado in early 2018 but nothing as bad as this one. Sending prayers for the entire community. I wish we were still there to help 😢🙏🏼

Yes, that was the exact tornado that touched down. That was not far from me about 20 minutes. It could have really went bad. Had it turned and went in our direction.
It was 2 miles from our current home 😳

Praying for your town. I live in NC and the same storm system produced a tornado, it hit the neighborhood across the street from the neighborhood I used to live in, no one was hurt or killed but 4 families lost their homes.
