TheNasher61 I’ve never played ice hockey but every time I watch your videos you really inspire me to go out and play!!! My New Years resolution is to learn how to skate and learn how to play Ice Hockey!!!!
This is your year my dude, it’s never too late! One of my buddies just started playing this year and he’s loving every second of it. Hit me up on Twitter if you need any tips, I’ll try and help out: @thenasher61
If you contact your local fire department, they will sometimes come and fill up rinks or pools as training for them. Its a win win because the fire department can train on the trucks and you get your rink filled in minutes
The best part of this video is seeing how much help and support Nasher gets from his family. Just an all around good dude. You deserve it bud!!! Keep your head up and stick on the ice!!
Congrats on the rink Nasher! I've had one since 2011 and this is unfortunately my final winter with it as I am going to college next year. It's not the biggest rink, but it's not about the size, it's about how you use it. :) Enjoy!
I remember as a kid waiting for it to snow and using all the snow in the yard to build a makeshift wall, bottom layer for the rink. Freeze the snow for the walls then fill with water and we had a nice size hockey rink. This nice rink wouldve been much quicker and better lol
Were building a outdoor rink in NH so its plenty cold but were doing a super simple version. Just using snow built up around and some tarps. Filling it up currently.
I build a 40x50 in my yard, 2x6 border, pound stakes into the ground and i ordered a big tarp on amazon for 120 bucks . Kids are getting older (and more skilled) so im thinking of putting up boards next winter.
I remember, 20 years ago, we made a rink in our neighbors backyard using snow and water....that's it...worked pretty good lol. Wish we had this set up back then
Hey TheNasher61 if you want to keep your ice flat and keep the cracks and have no bumps shovel it off as much you can and start at the far end with your hose and flood all the way back and don’t miss any spots and make sure every last inch is covered in water I’m an ice maker and have built a lot of back yards rinks this year and that’s what I’ve been telling everyone to do to keep them maintained
My dad used to build a rink in our backyard when I was little. The backyard was pretty small so the rink was tiny, but it looked gigantic to 5 years old me! He thaught me how to skate on that rink. I spent so many hours outside in the back, playing hockey until it’s too dark to see the puck. My mom would yell "get inside, you’re gonna catch a cold!" and I’d beg for a couple more minutes, and a couple more, and some more after that. I miss those days
Nasher I just started watching your videos like one moth ago and now you are my favorite youtuber and you are the only youtuber I watch thanks for making great videos
Could you do a video about hockey on a tight budget? Live in an area where there are small city leagues, but not in a hockey area if that makes sense. So gear is hard to come by, and it's super expensive; I know gear is pricey but they charge up to 20% more since it's an area where it's not in demand to make a buck. Suggest gear you'd take over big names? That'd be awesome, keep up the great work!
I live in Southern Oregon where we have only gotten like 10 inches of snow last year (If you live in Southern Oregon, and have gotten a lot of snow. Then I will tell you, I live in Medford.)
Bro how did you do this!? Awesome job. I'm here in Cbus too and couldn't even do pond hockey it just never stayed cold enough long enough. They even had to close Winter Park early cuz of the temp.
when I lived in New York I was able to build a rink in my backyard, but I moved to north Carolina when I was 7 and the closest rink is 40 minutes away. I haven't been able to convince my parents to get me one of these yet.
(Time: 8:09) the ice will thaw out but there is something called evaporation if its hot it will evaporate the water 💦. P.S. Hope you read this Nasher61 .
I love you masher I just watched your music video and right now I feel the same I am 11 years old love and obsessed with hockey but always wanted to be a youtuber you are my idol thanks
Me and any hockey players that live in Southern California can only dream of having this. It rarely goes under about 40 degrees except for night time. And the cost haha
It’s $2000 for a backyard rink at nicerink.com. My dad used to build me a rink when I was younger and honestly if you buy all the products separately at Canadian tire you can build a rink just as good for $500 instead lol
TheNasher61 I’ve never played ice hockey but every time I watch your videos you really inspire me to go out and play!!! My New Years resolution is to learn how to skate and learn how to play Ice Hockey!!!!
Lewis Fleet Skating is easy, Ice Hockey and Puck control is what is really hard.

Coach Jeremy jeez coach Jeremy replied!!! Now I'm really inspired!!!

Rocket Ryder bruh, you people must live where it's not cold enough to have an ice rink, almost every person in my neighbourhood has one
Baseball Bear my guy really responded a year later. Also, I live in Ontario. And everyone’s got these type of rinks

Thanks Nasher that helped out a lot I now have my very own backyard ice rink thanks to you.
24x40 "square" lol
DG Fishing square is a rectangle
And it costs about 2000 bucks for that "square"
What a heat way to start the new year
This is so cool bruh. I wish we had access to hockey and ice skating like this in the south. 🤦🏼♂️
Awsome rink cant wait to see more videos with the rink

This was a cold year. Here in NC it snowed in March. It never snows here in March supposedly. Weird.
I know the felling
Same in finland
If you use a GoPro hero black can you please tell me what setting you have it on? The quality looks mint!
Makes me wish I was up North again. SW Florida is a tad too warm.

Once u cold water freezes if u put a layer of warm water on top its really good ice
I live in Southern Oregon where we have only gotten like 10 inches of snow last year (If you live in Southern Oregon, and have gotten a lot of snow. Then I will tell you, I live in Medford.)

Nasher : Thanks to the guys over at
Everyone : Seatgeak
Nasher: Nice rink
Me and any hockey players that live in Southern California can only dream of having this. It rarely goes under about 40 degrees except for night time. And the cost haha
You need to use a long push broom with towels on it for a sort of Zamboni.
We don't have that much cold in the UK so I have to go to a ice rink beside my house because it is kinda cold and warm here
That is a Nice Rink!
Pun intended
Still waiting for my pond to freeze. Going to be almost 50 today... :(
Was totally frozen this time last year. It will come, just have to be patient.
This is so cool because my mom and dad just made me a rink from scratch tho
nasher next time I get a flat big and very cold backyard to put a rink on I'd love it
Great ice rink my friends porch is icy and we can play hockey with it too
