You didn't reinstall the bumper beam on top of the hitch. Is the hitch supposed to serve as a bumper beam as well? Also, I have read that if you disconnect the side radar wiring as you did at 9:08, then the system has to be re-calibrated by Audi (very expensive). Wouldn't it be better to set aside the fascia without disconnecting the wiring?
The bumper beam will not be reinstalled on the vehicle per the instructions. The hitch can take some of the impact when in an accident. We have not had any issues with unplugging the sensors and plugging it back in. If you feel more comfortable setting the fascia aside and leaving it plugged in, you can do that too. www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Hitch/Draw-Tite/76183.html
Awesome! So glad the video was helpful for you. Lots of the Q5 owners we work with are using the hitch for a bike rack. If this is the case for you, here are the ones that have been most popular with the other Q5 owners we have worked with. www.etrailer.com/Best/Audi/Q5/Bike_Rack/Hitch_Bike_Racks If you are planning on towing, here are the wiring options. www.etrailer.com/t1-2019_Audi_Q5.htm and a video showing how it installs. www.etrailer.com/tv-install-trailer-wiring-2018-audi-q5-119250kit.aspx Let me know if there is anything else we can help with!
