  • Long Island's shorelines are changing as stronger storms inundate the region.
Projections from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority show a dramatically different Long Island by 2050, even more so by the end of the century, with hundred of thousands of homes and buildings potentially at risk.

Due to melting ice caps and thermal expansion of seawater, sea levels are expected to rise, potentially inundating low-lying areas of Long Island.

    Now it's time for consequences.

Not consequences, just the effects of living on a living rock that's also moving, shifting and constantly transforming. The thing I hate about the "climate change" topic is the arrogance. People are really brainwashed into thinking they can control the movements of the fuckin earth 😂 if only we get rid of this or that.. no, you can't. Sure you can have an effect, maybe cut air pollution, clean our oceans but stop the polar ice caps from melting? No, that's out of your control and it's out of humanities control. Before the ice age we're dinosaurs driving V8s? We're they mass producing and discarding plastics? Come on
