- This is the last tournament that I saw Dina Kachalova (No 9) play.
She was my favorite player then (another favorite, Parkhomchuk came back to the team and it sort of evens up). I hope her well being now, and wish that Dina may watch this video and give me some updates about her life ^o^
Back then, lots of volleyball games were played/broadcasted in Japan.
Now we seem to have only World Cup.
Japan has been supporting volleyball for such a long long time (well, money and politics, but also many pure volleyball fans like me).
Please don`t take this tournament away from us ^o^

Million thks for share the match, I remember I watch the match in Primary school, now already near 40's. I miss Smironova, Parkhomchuk, Ogienko so much. But I don't know why Ms Dina Kachalova can't go to Seoul 88OG,.

Hi, thaks for a nice msg. I did not know this match was broadcasted abroad as this Japan Cup was such local tournament. I am so glad that you and I share the same generation of volleyball players (especially USSR. I love Smirnova just as much as Mireya). As for Dina, I want to ask why to Mr. Karpol who I respect for his dedication to the game of volleyball. But he will yell :)
"Such a local Tournament".....?...The only nation that wasn't present at this Japan Cup was Cuba......Then, everybody else was there...so.
Al año siguiente en Seul 1988 Rusia se cobraría la revancha ganándole a China. 3 × 0 , china venia desmoralizada después de caer ante Peru por 2 × 3 ,teniendo el marcador en el quinto ser 14 a 9 , las chinas no pudieron superar este golpe y ante Rusia no salían de su asombro .
DD Aljo que roca, China le gano 3 a 1 a Brazil dos dias despues de su derrota ante Peru. Que se sorprendieron, por supuesto, pero q no pudieron con La Union Sovietica x shock, no. USSR al igual q Peru y China venian de favoritas, y asi como Peru casi le gana a USSR 3 a 0, USSR le gano a China. Las q si estuvieron desmoralizadas fueron las Japonesas q perdieron 3 a 0 x el tercer puesto ante China.

I also liked Dina Kachalova very much and was disappointed, when she was excluded from national team. After that I saw her few times by TV plaing for CSKA Moscow.

Unfortunately, after 1988 the results of CSKA have fallen and I didn't see her playing ane more...
With all due respect to Mr. Karpol and so much adoration for Irina Smirnova, I wanted to see Dina Kacharova grow one step higher and beat all opponents, but now all in past.

Thks for your reply, at that time no internet & don't have any information for USSR domestic match. we only got their status fm little bit match high night. Mr Karpol sometime done very stranger decision. For example, in 2001, He let Godina be middle blocker & let her bad feeling. I like 87-90 USSR team. They are perfect match both hv own style. hahaha. POr mas que gano China ya demostraba errores en defensa, falta de reflejo, ya dejaba de ser ese equipo de ensueño, donde su principal caracteristica era su defensa.

この時はラリーポイント制以降前でのお試しだった記憶があります。そして30点だと結局試合時間が変わらないので、25点で終わるように落ち着いたと。
