@@anthonygunnip8779 i think it was maded specially for tim henson, he said in one video that this guitar was a commercial flaw in the 90's and they would never put it back to market, but polyphia sent the demo of "Playing God" to ibanez and asked them to create a new version of it, so his guitar was probably one of the first and customized the way he wanted. Playing God was one of their best songs and revived this guitar that literally nobody wanted in the 90's.
I love that the sound isnt overprocessed, you can hear every noise of the finger movements and accoustic imperfections. Makes me trust the skill of the playing a lot more when its obvious its a live take.
This looks like the beginning of a long career. You are insane at guitar and it is great you're getting deserved attention. The production is so good ! can't wait for it to get even better

I am at a loss of words. This has to be one of the most technically outstanding (and visually impressive) covers I've ever seen in my entire life. Like, saying you did a wonderful job wouldn't even begin to do it justice. Hats off, man, you're an integral part of this fanbase's history at this point
You know what’s funny is that as I listened, I remember thinking “this doesn’t sound all THAT great” lol. But in my head, I was comparing this singular guy to the entirety of Polyphia and their highly-produced track, and then I realized just how good this guy is that my brain was subconsciously doing that.
There is this limitation to the sound that acoustic guitars (and the electrics) can produce; surely this is already the best-sounding cover it possibly is, without any multi-tracks involved in the sense that there is only one recording of each type of guitars involved in this cover
I was actually contemplating about the sound because it's not that good when you hear it with good speakers, BUT appreciating that every sound that you do on the steel acoustic guitar. Marvelous. Thumbs up to PINOY! LET'S GO!
Yeah, i agree with you. i love this guy's content but let's be real. This one is... ugh... i don't know, man, It's all over the place. No hate, just we're all human after all.
Also it can't just be me who was just confused after the intro was over? That section's timing was so over the place I cannot place where the back beat is supposed to be at all.
11/10 You're a S++ tier guitarist! transposing notes, playing this song in 6 strings and converting parts into fingerstyle is alot of work and dedication.
i think tim needs to send you another guitar man. this is by far some of the very best instrumentation i have seen. i love your fingerwork, and the dedication to keep the nails perfect. keep that 4000 cloth and polish handy brother.
@@sudhramjutun5694 people like you can’t even play hot cross buns on anything with strings and comment shit like this. The pure joy and vibe in his playing resonates very well but you wouldn’t recognize that either because the only form of joy you know is when your mother dropped you down the stairs and she smiled.
cmon man, youre the first one to make it for ego death by polyphia! Cant wait for you amongst Ichika Nito, Manuel Gardner Fernandez, and also Polyphia themselves!
The fact that you made this sound excellent as 1 musician is incredible. Definitely wont say better than the original, but being so close vs 5 of the best living players is outstanding.
Holy crap that was amazing. Nice use of different guitars, they all fit where they need to be. Only thing missing was a whammy bar! Execution was flawless and cinematography was also great
Awesome work. Sounds amazing, and the way you constantly swapped the guitars kept the song sounding like a conversation between them which I loved about the original. Kinda feel like the TOD10 almost let you down a little at the second section, it works with the main riff but I reckon the steel strings are nicer on this particular song - it was great to see it again though! Congrats on the fantastic cover
I love the original Ego Death and listened to it extensively Now I listen to ur cover again and I gotta say the way you covered it is absolutely mind boggling Mad lad
bro i love this soo much , really liked that you put your own style into this cover rather than copy everything. and steve vai's part gave me chills . really like the acoustic in the background. Keep it up!
I love that he's using the guitar he won in Polyphia's cover contest.
I’m wondering if his is a prototype since the headstock is black, mine is brown. I know he won it from them so maybe a first batch thing
@@demo308 Wasn't it Tim's personal guitar? Pretty sure that it was mentioned in the video, but they might've just sent out a special one for him, idk

@orly. Yeah he's said a couple times that his version was different from the production models

well... 3 live takes
He is good at fingering
@@mrmother473thats actually impressive af. Only 3 takes to finish the whole song without any major mistakes.
Polyphia needs to get you as a feature on the next album
For real
Fuck yeah. Come on boys! Make it happen! @polyphia
Agreed
Talent!
yeah fr
The fact that he played this on 6 strings when most of it is played on 7 strings is impressive
1 less string = 1/7 easier
I could magine him playing Marcin's acoustic songs
@@poadudenah bro, that's not how it works
7 string just has an added lower string so its not really any different other than shifting those notes.
What's impressive is his playing.
Thank you master skywalker
This sounds so unique yet so close to the original, I have never loved a cover remake of a song as much as I love this.
BRO HE KILLED THE STEVE VAI SOLO OH MY GOOOOOOD
4:15 bro did the eeek eeek without a whammy bar, that's insane
bc the sound isn’t actually the whammy steve vai just did it for effects on the video 😂
Yeah you like push the tip of your pick into the string it’s weird
Not that crazy literally just picking the string and playing a dotted 16th note and muting it
This looks like the beginning of a long career. You are insane at guitar and it is great you're getting deserved attention. The production is so good ! can't wait for it to get even better
My fave part at 4:15 after that eek eek sound, the acoustic backing up steve vai solo is so sick! Love the tone on that part
this is actually amazing. Ur transcribing skills are insanely great. I'm glad they sent you the TOD10, cuz like damn you actually deserve it.
Seriously. It went to immediate good use!
I think this is the 50th time ive listened to it. Love it, the tone, editing, playing, all great.
The way you added that electric to Steve’s solo😫
The fact he’s playin polyphia on polyphias guitar is jus incredible
The electric guitar at 3:50 was so clean, Well done!
My favorite song in their album, covered by my favorite acoustic guitar fingerstylist. Sometimes life gives so much I should be grateful.
Galing. Pinakadabest fingerstyle guitarist ng philippines
true

He doesn't play on electric guitar. Acoustic is harder to play because you need to press harder 😔

Bro is cracked. Damn man I can't even play one note from Tim he just did the whole band including Steve Vai. A legend in the making. 💥💥💥🌟🌟
I love how he used the guitar that he won in a Polyphia contest in this video. Thank you for sharing your amazing skills.
tbh that guitar has the worst tone here 😂
Greatest polyphia cover on youtube
All of the guitars played together is so nice
Can't imagine the amount of patience needed to learn the full song... Congrats!
1:01 this actually gave me goosebumps. I didn't know it would sound so good in acoustic.
Love that your style is acoustic, but Vai's part sees you venturing to new heights for the audience. Awesome!
Nails like that is a sign that this man is a guitar god
Lord of Fingerstyle
that steve vai's part was perfect, the tone, the execution, its so good
the whole video was impressive, but man from Steve's solo to the outro is just perfect.
The part before Steve Vai’s solo on acoustic sounds awesome
And the brasstracks part on the nylon string at the end is just beautiful

it goes hardest at 2:45 no doubt in my mind the acoustic sound on that riff is crazy

Polyphia songs probably one of the hardest to play yet he is taking it like he owns it. Goodluck
The Steve Vai part is sooo hard! Congratulations on the whole piece!

Amazing! I ran that Scott section back quite a few times. And your were smooth as hell during that Steve Vai/Acoustic mix. 💯👏

Insane that he plays this all fingerstyle so elegantly when it is played on a 7 string at parts of the song
loved the acoustic tone
That was dope dude. Very cool.
The Scott le page slap guitar part is very very clean and the second part of the Steve vai sólo , so Greta Job man , good guitar cover 👌🏻
3:00 - fav part, besides the Steve Vai solo... 🤌
