Honestly, this is the most satisfying Mumumumuch reaction. You understand this song is lighter than the usual BUT without sacrificing any distinct quality that Mamamoo always has. Yeah, for me, Mamamoo music is evolving into their more mature & more sophisticated version, the proove of being growing artists.
Mamamoo have been really killing it with their solos. They’ve all found their colours now (especially Moonbyul - Lunatic was just the perfect encapsulation of her) and that’s exciting for where they can take it next.

Mumumuch came out at the perfect time. It did a lot to heal me from the angst around the resigning and Where are We Now. Hwasa's original title was Excuse You, I'm a Bitch (its on her sweat shirt). Changed to use the Korean bich meaning light to avoid being banned from the music shows. Lunatic is the middle song of the album 6equence which is about the arc of a relationship. There are videos for all the tracks and you really should watch Shutdown. It's a groundbreaking depiction of a sapphic relationship. Wheein also has videos for all the b sides of her album. Solar did a live performance of her whole album on solarsido. Also, now that you've seen Honey and Lunatic you should really watch the part change video on solarsido where Moonbyul sings Honey and Solar sing Lunatic.
I agree so much with what you said about how these are their best releases so far, not because it's the best genre that fits their vocal strengths or because it's the most popular. I'm saying it's their best because not a lot of artists release songs that they personally want to put out. A lot of solo comebacks are aimed at making sure it does well on the charts, it's business. Mamamoo however are more focused on releasing music that represent themselves as artists. The lyrics of these releases reflect the memebers' current season in life. Im a B from Hwasa is actually an apology letter to her loved ones. As for Moonbyul, we all know she writes her own stuff and she doesn't just write nonsense lyrics that rhymes, like her MBTI really changed from E to I for real. Wheein's whole album concept is a re-introduction to her as an artist, from the butterfly to the magnolia to the lyrics, Ravi her new CEO said every lyrics in the song is inspired by her identity. And Honey is just screaming Solar, she herself admits that her previous song SIO was a little too ambitious so she released something that's the very description of her personality of being a bold and confident woman.
Mamamoo is up there with the best of the best and really it doesnt matter if it is 1, 2 or all 4 of them. They all had solo comebacks, Dec Hwasa, Jan Wheein and Moonbyul, Solar was march. They also announced a mamamoo comeback is in the works. Righty now they are all doing OSTs and TV shows, Solar is the lead in the Musical Mata Hari but for amusement check out Solar's youtube Solarsido, a video with a Moonbyul Solar Switch where you will hear Moonbyul sing Honey and Solar sing Lunatic.

WHEE is such an easy-listening album. Wheein said you can listen to all 6 songs while doing household chores or like what you said while walking around & chilling. Her goal as an artist is to make music that is timeless, not conforming to what's "in". I swear, if I'm having a stressful day, i'll just pull up a wheein playlist and start to calm down.
Watch the MCountdown comeback stage for Lunatic. It's absolutely bonkers and is still my fave comeback stage of 2022. Each member's solo albums have been great and they have really been feeding us because all the songs have live versions with videos. If you ever need a rabbithole the 2021-2022 solo albums from Mamamoo are a good one. I feel like every time I say "I miss Mamamoo" there's some form of music from them that's released within 24 hours. 😂
Yeah, after mumumuch they decided to grow more as solo artists and they really did, moonbyul released 2 mini albums (in which you MUST react to shutdown, featuring seori), wheein released 1 mini album, an ost that went viral and i think she said she is preparing for her comeback, solar put out her mini album and she is also on mata hari (a musical), hwasa released im a b and a single album with loco
Whee In arranged a special contract with RBW to still be a member of MAMAMOO and release music as part of the group (at least) until December 2023. For her solo work, she did not renew her contract with RBW in June 2021 and went to THE L1VE. All solo comebacks are released under this label from now on. Her album WHEE with the title track "Make Me Happy" was her first release under THE L1VE and came out January 16th 2022. BTW: I think you would love the other songs on WHEE, Johan.
