Longest escalators in Europe @ Park Pobedy , Moscow

  • The escalators at In the Park Pobedy metro station, Moscow are 126.8 m (416 ft) long and 63.4 m (208 ft) high. It takes three minutes to transit 740 steps. It is one of the Longest escalators in the world.

    That escalator need three minutes to reach up to the top, it is too long, we must not stand to the right of the escalator because people will be late in reaching their destination.

    It’s hard to tell from the video but that things gotta be smoking fast. The Wheaton station escalator in the Washington DC subway is 230 feet and does a little over 90 vertical feet and it takes 2:50 to ride. Also the 740 steps is most likely the total step count which includes the steps on the return side also. Wheaton has 381 steps and while there are differences between different manufacturers the step dimensions are generally the same. In the US lots of steps are 40” wide so I would guess in the rest of the world somewhere around 1500-1600mm would be common.
