She had to lip sync most of the show, but they would not mute her mic. Now, although Cathy tried her hardest, she really wasn’t very good. Look at me way up high, Look at how I can zoom around (wooo), way up off the Ground (wooo)...I'm Flying! What a great motivating song from childhood. The energy and joy of it all! Cathy's voice had an energy in it like no other.
I saw Cathy Rigby as Peter Pan when I was about 6. The moment she flew out over the audience at certain call...I knew I had to do that someday, too. Peter Pan will forever be my dream role.
I love this so much with Peter Pan singing while he teaches Wendy and John and Michael how to fly, like I really do love the song: I'm flying, because to me, it has a nice ring to it!
I absolutely love Cathy Rigby as Peter Pan, Mary Martin was the pioneer and I thought she was great, but this production had more detail and depth. I do prefer Cyril Ritchard as Captain Hook, I didn't care for this one, or the Smee. Honestly, I would fall for any girl who can play peter pan, I don't know why.

I looked up facts videos about Peter pan and one of them mention the actress and it said She was in her 60s at the time and it was her last performance as Peter, insane but its true.

@@firebros1695 Righy trained to be a gymnast since childhood so she still retained her athletic abilities into her 60s. I guess the stunts done in this theatrical production must be easier for her than what she had to do as a gymnast.
Honestly this is my opinion I think she is just to old for Peter but that’s my opinion and sounds to feminine but idk if the character is supposed to sound like that
Cathy owned by this, hands down. Nobody could do what she did in the flight scenes. Just the sheer joy she emits is contagious to the audience.
sunnydayzie 1 is she singing live?
María Fernanda Nallim in this recorded version, no.
but when she performed it on tour and regularly she performed it live every time
I've seen this production four times and one in the round with Cathy.

Nobody will EVER pass Cathy as Peter Pan for me. Every musical adaptation I see will be compared to her
WOW...……….. The flying is amazing... you can't see guide wires or anything unless the screen behind them is performing all the optical illusions...??
They digitally edited some of the wires out.
MediaLover194 I second that. I saw it live with Cathy and you could 100% see the wires
I remember watching this as a kid, I love this.
This is my favorite version of the musical
That’s your opinion, which is fine.
Same! I grew up with this musical on VHS ☺️
I love this version of the Peter Pan musical too, besides it's my favorite!

Mary Martin
Sandy Duncan
Cathy Rigby
(in approximately that order)
(for preference, but everyone's preference is different, of course)
My bsf is doing this show right now and I’m so excited to go see it because I remember when I did this show 4 years ago

Jeffrey Grossman I enjoyed both this version and Peter Pan Live.
Amazing! A must watch until the end!
I am Peter Pan in my Theatre this year! It’s so fun preforming this song :)
Have you done it yet? Tell us how it goes!

"Vicente Hizon" I think certain gym classes teach athletic routines on ropes.
I watched this as a kid now I’m having a late night moment
Still no clue how they did the never-ending pixy dust effect in this scene. No way Cathy's pockets held THAT much.
It's probably falling from a catwalk, because you can see it everywhere. She might have a few handfuls in her pocket.
Never saw the in person production but they might have added it in post production after filming like how people are saying they edited out the wires afterwards.
There are little pockets hidden throughout the set and if you’re really paying attention you can see her grab them like at 1:10
Spectacular!
I mean that Peter is immortal
I had this play on tape that I had from Ross when I was like idk 6-9 and I just know thought about it a play where Peter Pan was played by a woman
Wonderful
The fact were using this song in our PANTOMIME!!
Song should really be called "I'm swinging"
