Seriously that progression at the second half of the chorus is so good. It almost makes it sound like it’s wants to change key and go up and so it carries that momentum but isn’t switching keys I love it
In case anyone's wondering what the chord progression from 1:09 till 1:24 is, here is my interpretation: | Bm7 Cm6 | C#m7(b6) Dm/M7(9) | Bbmaj7 Bbmaj7(#5) Bm7(b6 9 11) | E7(add4) D/F F#maj7(6)(omit3) | D/Eb5 D/C5 | A/B / B7(b13) | Bbmaj7(#5 #11 13) A7 | D/F# ...
This band will never need an electric lead ever. Henrik can do virtually anything. From the intro to his pinch harmonics... this band takes pop and just turns it on its head with musicality, technical prowess, musical theory and some degree of whimsy. What an amazing song. And yes I agree with all the others, if you're hating on this you really don't have context for musical theory. There's a tremendous amount of artistic math that goes into calculating something like this. The Jaco-esque work at 1:36 is NOT to be missed.
To everyone complaining that this song is not re-invented enough, you obviously are not listening. The chord progressions that they are using are COMPLETELY different. The bass part especially changes the sound. I love this song it sounds great and they did a very good job of covering it. They know what they are doing. Good luck and keep it up!
I can do an entire college course on this entire song. The way they borrowed from the effects of a key change in the second verse and then returned to the original key. The climatic mountain in the second half of the chorus that rises, peaks and falls with equality on both sides of the peak is simply amazing. There’s so much more. Changing the melody to create chord change opportunities is proven evidence of these guys’ incredible understanding of music theory. I’m going to stop here but hats off to you guys.
Thank you Dirty Loops!!!... The bassist is a fusion of Jaco Pastorius and Marcus Miller. So cool music!!!. It's a new concept of Jazz and Pop music. Congratulations.
I watched this at School and I loved it. If you see this Mr Bradley I just wanted to say your the best teacher ever and love you. From A Wayne A. Cox student
high quality segments often tend to end too soon. most of their stuff is sounding like the succinct version. would travel far for attending a live performance - maybe there, each song could receive another half minute..
81 dislikes? Seriously even if you do not like Dirty Loops music you should appreciate their amazing musicianship. Have not seen a band with 3 guys who play this well in some time!
Beautiful re-harmonization of the original.....What some may hear as 'out of tune' may just be simple unfamiliarity with this type of approach to creativity....well done Dirty Loops!!...
I think this is a nice change of pace. Even though I love the freaked out experimental fusion-jazz side of Dirty Loops, it's nice to hear a softer more collected side to it all.
Impressed by the Dirty Loops! Music is not only art. It's also a handicraft. They master both! Jonah Nilsson, you are my favorite vocalist! Hurra Sverige!
Fernando, you might already know this, but Simon Petrén mixed, mastered and produced this track, as well as many other of the Dirty Loops tracks. He’s a beast when it comes to all that… Yeah, it’s The Best 👍🔥👍
Very Doge the extended harmonies create tension in the music that eventually resolves to a consonant chord. It's a great compositional device to help add another dimension to music.
How've I missed you guys??? I started introducing you to my music classes--some of the "naughty words" make that problemaetic; but YOU guys show them--what skill is.
I'd imagine anyone complaining that this song hasn't deviated enough from the original piece of garbage they're covering isn't actually following the chord progressions and is just listening for the 'jump out at you' big genre leap. This is one of their more unique covers, I really enjoyed it.
Breath and speechless!!! Jazz chords in this wonderful song!!! Notes of Gino Vannelli can be heard! Wish u guys would collab! That would be such a feat!!!!
The chord structures in the chorus are majestic.. So colorful and tasteful. Bass player is sick. Love it
Bass player ,is off the charts ..................
The highest honor for any musician is to have their work covered by Dirty Loops.
No the opposite....
Second highest. Highest honour is to be parodied by Weird Al.
Third highest. Highest honour is to be interviewed by Nardwuar.
Thank you for visiting our planet :)
Uhh hi what do you mean by that? Sorry if I am bothering you.
...and pleased stay for a while🤗🎹😉

the more you listen, the more you can´t stop... that progression, second half of the chorus... just incredible!!! goosebumps!!!!
that's it. dirty loops jazz-rock skills (starting 2:56) are impressive for sure, but the real deal are their progressions like the one you mentioned.
Seriously that progression at the second half of the chorus is so good. It almost makes it sound like it’s wants to change key and go up and so it carries that momentum but isn’t switching keys I love it
Agreed. It's absolutely crazy
I’m addicted to that second half of the chorus
I just wish they gave us just one more bar of that chorus….just one more bar…that’s all….!

Just when you think there is no more hope, God sends these guys.

That modulation! Are you serious?!! AGH! These guys are amazing. That ending was real cheeky. Loved it.
The harmonic relationships are purely GENIUS!!!!
what a modulation ! what a chords structure and what an ending ! JUST AMAZING
The chord changes in the chorus are so beautifully intricate...
Absolutely.. very colorful
If only snarky puppy and dirty loops were to collab they would rule the world!
NO..NO...………...That would be toxic and lethal.Millions could actually die.your sanctioning mass murder.
Henric Linder and Michael League together? Something would explode.
@@espnpokerclub1246 YES.....& I would most definitely be one of the casualties.......but with a HUGE smile on my face!!!!😁😎

Breakdown at the end was LEGENDARY!!
Jarrod Bolon Legen.... wait for it DARY
@Daniel Joseph Derramas I was about to make that same comment! :')
Did not expect a key change. Or any of it. It's amazing.
you guys fixed pop music nowadays
Man, if only pop all pop music were this good, the radio would be great.
This aint pop. Jazz
Correct, mor fusion-ish though.
Ahahhah fixed its the very correct word
Acid jazz

I cant stop listening to this. This is what you call "beyond imagination".
That breakdown at the end is incredible oh my word
That snare sounds so incredibly tight.
I love the way he bobs his head back and forth while he plays that fast shuffle.
Starting at about 3 minutes... nearly brought me to tears. So. Good.

still listening this music @2019, hope you guys comeback immediately
Listening this cover for almost 6 yrs now, there’s no other better cover of Wake me up

These guys are a phenomenon !! Thats it! (Jonah playing the piano is too beautiful!)
Não vou te seguir pois não sei onde estás e com tantos seguidores. certamente eu teria muitos dissabores. Bjs
TITO psicólogo Oliveira porque dissabores Tito? você se refere a mim, ou aos gênios do Dirty loops? bjs :-)
Gláucia Carvalho Me refei aos gênios do Dirty Loops....rss
TITO psicólogo Oliveira explicado! By the way, adoro o seu nome!!!! E viva o Dirty Loops!
Gláucia Carvalho By the way, qual é o nome que adora? Rsssssss
Fantastic arraignment. Love that the bass has an almost acoustic guitar tone. Slick brushing
these guys made me love music
Stupenda!!!!! BRAVIIIIII!!!!!!!!!
Quality musicianship! nice harmonies, tight, great sense of rhythm and timing!
That is some crazy reharmonization there. Never thought the ending of the chorus could fit so well with that 3/1 chord
That ending was excellent.
These guys are phenomenal
This was AWESOME!! And I did NOT expect Jonah to play an XS at the end.... Too cool
They almost went a little metal with it there. I'm starting to discover dirty loops and it's such a freakin great journey
I am literally listening a Dirty Loops song before going to work. Everyday!. Can't get enough !
Me: Dirty Loops how many chords do you want in your cover?
Dirty Loops: YES
Han llevado los "cover" a un nivel de excelencia que ni alguno de los originales.
Todo suena a "Dirty loops".
Grandísimos músicos.
Love the harmonics of the 2nd part of each chorus. So...diffrent
yes i'm feeling these brothers , they are great musicians
The end section is my favorite part of the whole album. I wish it lasted longer.
high quality segments often tend to end too soon. most of their stuff is sounding like the succinct version. would travel far for attending a live performance - maybe there, each song could receive another half minute..
This is real music. Great adaptation of the original.

To be honest that's a reason why I don't thumb down, but the result is not among my favourite, regardless
81 people don't understand music theory
Those True Temperament frets on that 7 string bass, wild!
What a difference harmony makes!
A true temperament 7 string bass 👌🏼 equally amazing as it is over-the-top
You guys just made this song 100% better...thank you
I can’t stop listening to this! Chord changes make me cry! Best cover ❤
The arrangement and musicianship here is mind boggling!
Avicci version - no emotions at all!!
this - can't stop from listening!! guys are .... INCREDIBLE!!!

Love those haunting 'walk-up'chords/Bass on the Repeat Choruses :D Your greatness brings me to tears....
I've had this on repeat for a couple of days now. Brilliant music.
If only the originals had this hip harmonic structure and groove.
The future of music is in good hands. These guys are some of the very best of the best musicians recording and performing. This track is genius.
I think this is a nice change of pace. Even though I love the freaked out experimental fusion-jazz side of Dirty Loops, it's nice to hear a softer more collected side to it all.
This was great. Specially the ending. All of you are great musicians. Thumbs up for the bass player on this one.
my ear felt sooo gooooooood, these guys are true geniuses
I literally couldn't stop smiling after the 2:55 mark. Amazing!
great version of this song ! I saw You in Berlin. amazing! Come back soon !
I'm hooked on these guys. Amazing musicians with really amazing music! Also, that fucking outro
You are a Dream Theater fan and you love this band too. You are officially my friend :D

This and snarky puppy "Lingus" are some of my favorite pieces of music
amazing! when/where are you playing live next?
I love your music and the twist you put on it. You are the best musicians I have ever heard. Keep mixing it up!!
That outro was way too good to be so short! I wish they would have gone on a couple more minutes on that jam!
Love this music sooo much! Thanks for all the hard work an dedication you guys put in it!
This keeps getting better with each listen, and I have been listening all day. Just wish the outro was longer hahaha
That goddamn break at 3:07 and that funky 'ass part after that. Amazing band...
Snare at 1:38....every second thoughtfully played...
I love that bit….. ☺️
One of my favorite songs- thank you deeply!!
Oh my gosh ur voice is amazing! the whole thing surprisingly worked together perfectly!
I saw them performed live and now im in love with them
Progressive harmonics..you really know how to serve your crowd something new. Fantastic!!!
Impressed by the Dirty Loops! Music is not only art. It's also a handicraft. They master both! Jonah Nilsson, you are my favorite vocalist! Hurra Sverige!
In addition to the high musician's level, the mix engineer is such a beast.

Yeah, it’s The Best 👍🔥👍
Amazing chords very good arrangements
really didn't want this track to finish !
robtowler got it on repeat!
The snare sounds incredibly tight! Wow!
Can anybody explain what's going on in harmony here? Its awsome! And coda is epic!
Wow, they set the bar so high. Thrilling how good they are.
I've never heard any other artist/band use dissonance so well. It sounds so bad yet sooo good. DAFUQ.
That's jazz for you lol
Very Doge the extended harmonies create tension in the music that eventually resolves to a consonant chord. It's a great compositional device to help add another dimension to music.
Michael Green dude. They SMASH outros!!! Lol
Very Doge so true! Lol
Can anybody explain the harmonic extensions being used in the progressions in this song?
That harmony!
Just discovered this band. Damn they're good!
How've I missed you guys??? I started introducing you to my music classes--some of the "naughty words" make that problemaetic; but YOU guys show them--what skill is.
Sound great, and a great departure from all your previous songs, that honestly were starting to sound all the same. I celebrate the variation.

Really really great music! I hope Dirty Loops tours in California! :-D

The bass riff in the outro
