I was a young man playing in a honky tonk band when the so-called New Traditionalists arrived in the late 80s and really in the early 90s and gave country music a big kickstart after it'd been languishing some in the 80s, at least for a lot of us. A jump forward from where country music was at but then revisiting traditional classic country and really weaving it in to the new stuff. It was a combination that appealed to me immensely. Dwight yoakam, Randy Travis, etc. But quickly on their heels came Garth Brooks and Clint Black and friends. We lived all kinds of music, but we used to blast this song, and then we learned it in my band and would play it at shows with lots of loud sing-along by the audience, lol. 😊
In Country Music History, a lot of artists are known as “Singer / Songwriters”, Clint Black is a “Songwriter / Singer” His lyrics rank among the best all time. I’m speaking as someone who knows and loves most all generations of Country Music.
I love Clint Black's songs. I was born and raised in Albuquerque New Mexico and spent years on the back roads being a homegrown tourist and historian because I love New Mexico so much. I've been to all corners and in between in New Mexico and most of Arizona, Colorado and western Texas. When Clint Black's song "The Goodnight-Loving" came out about the Good Night Loving Trail rides in the old west that used to happen starting in Texas, going through New Mexico and up into Colorado with the cattle herds, I absolutely loved it! His music captures the southwestern USA very well and I love his tunes!! I'm not really a country fan, but I am a fan country and western music. I love Clint Black and Dwight Yoakam's tunes. Thanks Shon!!
Great review as always bro!! I’m not a huge country guy but Clint is terrific!! Check out “Nothin But the Taillights” it’s a banger and my favorite by Mr Black. ✌️
At the 6:02 mark the cowboy who was dacing with his wife in front of Clint is actually his brother Mark, despite the contrary to the rumors that was country music legend George Strait,i have two songs from Clint Black that I'm positive you will like 1. Been There featuring Steve Wariner ( one of the great guitars pickers) 2. Better And Worse, it also has played on words.
I love Clint Black's voice! When it gets closer to Christmas, you should check out his song "Til Santa's Gone" (Milk and Cookies). One of my favorite Xmas songs ever. 😂 Love your reactions. ❤
Yes, he did write this. He had to fight the record company, who wanted him to perform songs written by their song writers. In the end, I think, they settled on doing 1/2 their songs, and he could write the other half of the songs, per album.
Clint Black is a great singer. Kind of in the tradition of Roy Rogers IMO. I have always like his singing and his songs. Underrated IMO. Thanks for sharing.
As I watch your reaction I've heard it many times and I'm only quoting here but "do you know the difference between black folks and us country folk?.....nothing absolutely nothing "we the same just the beatis different😉 seriously dive into some country/rap/rock mixes you'll be impressed! And as a reference to the Gretchen Wilson reaction 4 wheels and off roading is a blast! Look up some jeep trails and 4wheeler trails it is a blast!
Clint Black is so good. Lots of great recommendations here already, and he really doesn't have any bad songs, but I'm going to go with the wordplay and suggest, "No Time To Kill". ✌🏽
clint has 22 no. one hits not sure this is his best with song like a better man/agood run of bad luck/nothing but the taillights/something that we do/we tell ourselves/put youself in my shoes/when i say i do/like the rain and many more
Loved the video. But when I got divorced I didn’t drink because I missed him, I drank that night to celebrate. You should listen to My Little Rat, by Red Sovine. Love you and keep safe.
Amazing Reaction Man, Im so happy You discoved Clit, though, there is Something I think you missed, My man. In the Chorus, Clint Says "This killin' time is killin' me Drinkin' myself blind, thinkin' I won't see That if I cross that line and they bury me Well, I just might find I'll be killin' time for eternity" The way Ive seen it, its talking about Drivng Drunk and "Crossing the yellow Line and Dying" thus Killing time forever
Shon, you do a good job. Country's not my thing, but you and i and your other followers can all appreciate anything good. Louis Armstrong said, "There are two kinds of music. . . good music and bad music. " Doesn't matter about the style.
***A BETTER MAN*** by Clint Black
Clint was big back in the late 80’s early 90’s. But so underrated!!!
