It seems like ryze ain’t the pick anymore, at least for this current meta, yeah he cleans waves fast and maybe 1 or 2 good realm últs but apart from that, it just doesn’t work against current champ meta.
The realm warp was pretty big though. Aside from that, I concur. There's too much mobility in the game nowadays, Ryze is not gonna find a big bouncing E-Q on the enemy team, which is the only way he can be relevant besides realm warp. While he clears waves fast, his damage on tower and duel power are not that strong, making his sidelaning pretty limited.
@@Secret_Moon Fully agree with you. Realm warp was big 2 times in this game, but only in this game. That's why Ryze was 0 and 3 before this match. I really hope he let's it rest for a while and stick to the champs that are working great for him and the team.
Ryze is not a damage pick tho... The tank ryze meta is literally there for the utility he brings to the team with his realm warp and then the cc and frontline he brings with the current tank builds
Ryze is better working as a counter pick for his rune prison to stop divers and a semi-global ult to match TF. But with the LCK mid-lane meta rn hovers around poke/control mages, i find it difficult to justify getting a tank Ryze ever.

Gnar, Galio, Gragas, Malphite, even tank Xin, tank Veigar, all have better damage and cc than tank Ryze. Honestly, he's only useful for the realm warp, which is very situational. It's better to pick something more reliable.

You might need to wait for the earlier part of the video to be loaded. Ruler was tested covid positive and from I know from watching the live stream, Ophelia was called up as an emergency backup. As for why Gen G called up their CL Mid laner Ophelia instead of AD Carry, i heard vaguely that it was due to the AD Carry is not of age to compete or play in LCK, thus their Mid laner was called to sub instead
Why wouldn't you help a teammate that's gapping the enemy laner? That's what they did, if Guma got fed they'll probably camp bot just as much as they camped top. And I don't think Ruler would make any difference since the top gap was so noticable.
