John. Your face is getting puffy lately. Are you eating cooked carbs or cooked foods? What's the deal? You look great, just not like most raw food eaters.
Learn Organic Gardening at GrowingYourGreens can you please tell me what kind of soil is used, what it's compromised of and how organic it is.. has it been tested for heavy metals etc ? Also, since it is organic cultivation meant for direct consumption without washing it first, how do you deal with pests ? Thank you!
I grow and juice as much wheat grass as possible! Extremely powerful juice. I grow wheat grass using aeroponics and also grow wheat grass in 100% wood chips! 100% no mold! John's videos really motivated me to do my own thing and grow as much food as possible but come to find out wheat grass juice has everything the body needs period.
I don't have 90k but this was the best! TAKE MY MONEY!! Living in Vegas and running shop. What a nice dream life! And now he can grow wheat grass and CANNABIS!! How much will the property cost?
Wheatgrass is an excellent source of many different vitamins and minerals. It is especially high in vitamins A, C and E, as well as iron, magnesium, calcium and amino acids.
Another educational and inspiring episode for growing our own food! I appreciate the details you take the time to cover such as including the purpose to weigh down the seeds. Great business opportunity too!
*What is the source of his seed?* You mention that the source of the seed is crucial yet no mention is made as to its source. *Where is the seed purchased?*
Watch the video again and google the exact specifics given in the video. The exact seed and type they mentioned. If that is beyond your ability, you don't need to know.
I am not exactly sure. However it looks like the seeds I buy from, "A True Leaf Market". www.trueleafmarket.com/products/copy-of-wheat-hard-red-winter-organic-grass-seeds?variant=46446368520
Trade secrets, soak with a little peroxide and kill off any mold or fungus. You won’t have any problem getting funky mold growth. Just super sweet wheat grass. It’s the biggest problem with growing it.
Hey Canada Heather, I live here in Vegas, and if you were serious about buying this business, I would be interested in speaking with you about being a silent partner. You put up the capital and I will run the business. That way you could stay in Canada and visit anytime you wanted. 50/50 split !
Wow....John....you should buy this business. With all the support you already have i am sure some one loyal can work for you and keep it running. I wish so much i could buy it, but i just moved to TX...great video and thank you for sharring 👍
Very interesting, but I think this would only work if you lived close to an urban area. Where I live, there is no way that you could make that amount of money growing a vegetable. In fact, just a few days ago I sat down with a local organic young farmer who was trying to make it. He had decided to move more south where there is more of the market. It's unfortunate, but location means everything.
grassy - I guess it's because I live in a remote area of Canada. So I'm thinking from my own personal location. However, this is definitely got me thinking and if it could be flash frozen, then the skies the limit for shipping. Is this possible?
Thanks for the interesting information. I wonder what you do against mould. I saw multiple videos from people sprouting grains and buckwheat for their chickens, but they use bleach against mould; something I will never do. The idea to use bleach disgusts me.
How many times did John say "Basically" in this episode? Take a shot every time John says Basically when watching his videos and let us know if you can still see straight at the end!
A few hours work a day, 60k a year and he wants to sell it. I think he can see the market for his product is starting to decline and getting out before the ship sinks. Good luck.
He wants to sell and then he will start up again. Its silly to buy it. Start it yourself except add in micro greens and sprouts. Totally balanced business.
What is the source of his seed? Same question here, but isn't this entire inside look at this business enough? It's called 'trade secrets'. I'm glad he reserved some sensitive information for the seller's benefit, regardless how much I want to know the answer.
I started growing my own fodder. I began with cleaned oats from feed store. I noticed after moving my fodder location closer to basement entrance, my yield was much less, about 2 lbs less... I thought mice were consuming my seed, so I bought traps, and caught only two. Even though I keep traps baited I haven't caught more. I still observed seed not all growing, and when I went to harvest.... little did I realize on my oats in their root mass was tons of Hessian Fly larve. Have you had any trouble with it? Or how to get rid of it with out pesticides?
instead of windows can you use a shade cloth? or poly carbonate sheets? Or any other material? Whats the ideal temp inside and can you use fans to reduce the temperature or even moist fans fogging water?
Hell yeah I would take it for 90k over a years time not at once.. I need to see my return to make sure im not paying 90k for something that within a year could cost a total of 110k which greatly puts me in the hole. Damn...actually a great deal. A generous deal. Hopefully someone with an organic approach humbly accepts ownership and maintains the reputation. Lovely place and change of scenery compared to the mountains of WV.
Jon: Your videos are very motivating. I enjoy watching your videos often. I am interested in self-sustaining gardening. I am hoping you may inform us about beneficial bugs, their buffer-zone habitat, how to keep them over winter, and how to control consumer pest bugs and animals, also about randomizing the garden rows inboard of the buffer zone. I have seen one video on this subject and I would watch it again but it's gone somewhere. Thanks. I hope you can keep on producing these very interesting videos on these topics.
Hey john, you point out that slowing the growth in the cooler is an important step. Why not just harvest it on day seven, why does it have to be cooled?
Nice idea with the wheatgrass! Hey, It was cool to see you speak at the heirloom expo today. I had the Surinam cherry and you thought it would probably not do well where I live. After I left I thought to myself...well I'm committed now, I already bought it. lol I guess I'll put it in the greenhouse with a lightbulb when it gets too cold?
Thanks! I used the automated watering system in the garden this summer. What an effort saver. Corner lot w/31 varieties fruit trees, 6 raised beds, half barrels. Wife has banned me from the front yard but the back/side yards are a forest lol. Thanks for the inspiration!
I read that wheatgrass can contain bacteria or viruses such as E Coli. Is there a way to make sure that stuff like E Coli won't be on the wheatgrass itself?
hi i need to try this in my basement as small project to make money .. i live in canada now ... what do you think about that ... basement good idea or not .. thank you very much :)
I was wondering are you able to sell wheatgrass to juice bars when it's in soil? I thought having soil in a restaurant was against health code so you would have to grow them hydroponically? I really don't know but trying to find out thanks
i used to grow 12 trays a week. one problem i ran into that i didn't addressed is what to do with all the tough, spent mats of soil and wheat roots. clearly this business ships out mostly whole, live trays... but what to do with grade B/failed product? do they have some kind of shredder to assist before composting? also, they must have to input (and ship out) a lot of fertile soil? what is their growing medium?

Can we used any type of wheat from the super market , thanks
What is the ideal temperature and humidity for growing wheat grass?
Can we see how the watering is done?
What does one expect to pay for a 10 by 20 flat of wheatgrass to a vendor or business?
What is the ideal Temperature? Didn't hear it mentioned. Does the Wheatgrass ever need extra fertilizer?
No. It’s tough to grow in Louisiana because of the humidity (causes mold)
I've laying seeds on the bottom of the tray and then putting potting soil on top.
Where do you get the 50lb bag of seed?
I started a business growing grass and the Fed's kicked my door in
derrik tie, It's a joke about growing weed.
Edy Wolfe 😂 you grow wrong grass
Grow legal products and keep books to pay your taxes and the Fed's will protect you.
Was that grass illegal to grow? If so findca legal one to grow...
You were growing the illegal grass -- not weed grass.😁
I grow wheat grass in the same seed flats. My question is why does he put it in soil?
I raise mine without soil.
I grow microgreens the same way but with led lights, there isn't enough a market up here unless I sell online
