- Welcome to Part II of my journey across the Atlantic! This installment finds us on Delta's dinosaur Boeing 767-300ER, though it really only felt like an aging aircraft while we were on the ground. As the flight crew explained to us, there was a malfunction with the bleed air system, so we were forced to sit through 2 hours of maintenance delays with no air conditioning. However, once we got airborne, the cabin cooled down and I enjoyed a comfortable ride to Berlin. The IFE was above my expectations, as was the service and the overall comfort of the flight! I hope you enjoy this video, and please subscribe for more!

Watching your video brought back a lot of memories of my flight to Berlin back in August 2019. Even some of the scenes were exactly what I saw ^^
Excellent trip report! The cabin seemed old, I think the air conditioning system needed upgrading
Great work man, love this trip report! The DL 767's are definitely getting old. Liked :D
Thank you!! Aside from the air conditioning malfunction, I really enjoyed the ride on the 76! I can only imagine how much worse it would have been if we were stuck on the ground in a place like PHX.
AC can/is normally pumped-in from a Terminal based HVAC at most Regional/International airports.....putting aside the APU bleed-air that can be routed to the heat-exchanger which also provides cool air in the cabin while the plane is sitting at the gate...your plane or the airport had some "issues" to say the least. The electronics bay does not like things getting heated-up either.
I love Delta
I am working as a certified aircraft mechanic ( A 320 family & A 330,340 ).
20 years plus is no age for a jetliner. A plane runs trough several checks in it's life and in the end when the last flight has been flewn there is not a single part the same as when it left the factory new. A defect air condition is pretty normal on older jets. Otherthan that the 767 is a very reliable airplane.
I had a 4 hour delay coming out of JFK to Rome on a Pan Am 747 in June '84. A problem with #3 engine and T-storms kept us on the ground. Upon landing #3 engine went bang and blew a sheet of flame out the exhaust. Since then I've taken any mech delays in stride.
I was on This very aircraft (N153dl) years ago and it was a dinosaur then too! Hilarious this thing is still in service. But now it has winglets and entertainment. The pilots did a rough landing with it on my flight back in 2008. So that's why I never forgot it's registration, kept thinking hope they take it out of circulation soon but with how cheap delta is in its fleet investment. Just glad you landed safely!
I flew to Berlin in 1989 is this the airport that has a plane in the parking lot on display
u make great vids I'm going in 4 days to mrytle beach I'm flying on 757 delta can't wait wonder why they don't use a 777 on this route plus if you didn't know delta gonna retire some 767 fleet and use a350 s can t wait
I've always wanted to visit Germany. That's on my list.
dam plane sound like it was gonna come apart
Awesome Video.
I cringe when I hear people talking like the 767 is an old plane ... It's considered one of the nicest plans to fly Long Haul routes in, and after several rounds of rebuilding & restoration, they been kept in use for one good reason.. They are a fantastic plane that, until recently, has had no competitor... It serves the same role as the B777 for significantly less money. The B787 has turned out to be a flop, so unless Boeing does the smart thing & reopens production of the 767-300ER & 400ER, most major airlines will slowly begin replacing their 767's with the new A350, passing their 767's down to smaller airlines, where they will get another 20 years of service...
The 787 was never a flop. Boeing is back ordered a few thousand airplanes. The a380 is the flop...
Great!
Thank you!
AmericanAirDFW Please make more i like your Videos very much!

Filght ExPerience I Delta Airlnes Boeing 767-300ER New York JFK to Berlin!
Hahaha 2018 Air Berlin R.I.P
This aircraft or similar on this TXL-JFK run has had all kinds of problems since Delta resumed this route. Cancellations, and a diverted flight back to Tegel after takeoff. Not good and when you consider the age of the aircraft very troubling. Delta must own newer aircraft like a 777, or a A330. Why is this dinosaur being used and causing trouble?
If I remember correctly, the aircraft was about 75% full on this flight. I think a 332 would be better served on TXL runs.
even a A332 has got more seats than the 767
smashin1988 My mistake, you're right. Maybe a 757-200 would be a better choice.
Which would be too small and range ristricted under several conditions. Thats why United changed fom 757 to 767 on Newark-Tegel.
This is one of the ex Gulf Air 767s, recognizable by the different exit configuration. They have less Business seats, so they fly to low yielding places like Berlin most often and AFAIK especially these planes are maintenance hogs. But nothings worse than Uniteds 767-300s ...
The A330-200 is too big for Berlin also the 332s capabilites are used much better elsewhere. I predict that Berlin will be among those destinations that will disappear once the 767s leave. At least until some Boeing 797 becomes reality.

Lufthansa Lufthansa !
So they board you out of the obsolete overcrowded hellhole terminal 2 on to a delayed un-air conditioned 27 year old aircraft in the height of summer. The scene at 3:04 & 9:01 says it all. Did Delta offer you any compensation for enduring this? This looks like the worst flight experience ever.
