- I build my Playmobil Back to the Future DeLorean featuring Doc & Marty (Christopher Lloyd & Michael J. Fox). Nothing like adding another time machine to my toy collection. What’s one more flux capacitor, after all. When I can, I like to collect toys themed to various movies from my childhood. Growing up, when I’d visit my grandparents I’d play with my aunts playmobil sets. None of those were themed to movies, but a few years ago I found that Playmobil made ghostbusters themed sets. I had to buy the whole series. They eventually started making back to the future sets as well. Those had to be immediately added to my collection.
This build was relatively simple. As with most Playmobil sets, the stickers are the most difficult part. I absolutely love the final product, and think it makes a wonderful addition to my Back to the Future collection.
I hope my kids will grow up to enjoy these sets once I pass them on to them.
I can’t believe I forgot to wear my Back to the Future hat in this video. Gah!

That’s the way to do it! I haven’t done that with this set, but I also collect action figures and when I can, I’ll pick up two - One sealed and one for out of box display.

On mime the top camera is super loose and falls off all the time. Did you glue it on yours?
Are you referring to the camera that Marty holds in his hand?
I bought mine a few days ago. Its just great, I love it except for the damn stickers hahaha

That’s awesome! I’m glad they’re still available. I don’t have every set for the BTTF line, but I’d like to eventually collect them all.
I feel ya with the stickers. Goodness, that part is tedious.
I’d love for them to branch out with more pop culture properties. I have a lot of the Ghostbusters line, but like you said, an 89 Batmobile would be amazing!!!
Tweezers help a great deal. Easier to position. The stickers are pretty forgiving though. I had to pull up and re-place a couple of them. The came up and went back on no problem.
@@JDJohnston9906753 that’s good to know! I’ll have to try that. Since I use a toothpick, when the sticker is down, it’s pretty much down with no coming back up. But I’ll have to use tweezers on my next assembly. Thanks for the tip!
I didn’t really play either I would just set them up and admire them I’m 37 now when I get toys I play with them the day I get them then set them up for display, except my lightsaber collection those I swing around every once in a while
So we’re about the same age. I bought a Qui-Gon lightsaber when Episode 1 came out and I guess I didn’t play with that too. I never really crashed it forcefully on anything. But like you, I’d swing it around and slice at the air a lot. Still the only lightsaber I’ve ever bought. And it was just a toy, not display grade or anything. But yeah, I always tried my best to keep my toys as pristine as they were when they came out of the box.

@@PureHangout yep I came to watch and stayed for the entertainment, loved the video and I got my time machine today I also got the hover board chase set which has the mr fusion add on and some other cool stuff and definitely want to get the two advent calendars they put out that add a bunch of stuff and more add ons for the time machine

its very cool set- all tho i have no enouth power to change wheels to flying mode (i dont want break it XD) - seems i am too weak for kid toy lol
They are a little stiff. I’ve broken a few toys myself while trying to adjust them.

Yeah they’re great! I hope they continue with the pop culture sets. I’d like to see them expand on the ghostbusters set by using the new film. I covet AJs Enterprise ship. That thing is beautiful!

@@darthpalps7857 awesome! I don’t have the lego batmobile, but I have lego Ecto-1 from ghostbusters, and the Lego DeLorean from Back to the Future. I’ve seen pictures of some of the different lego batmobiles, they look really cool.

If it’s the one I think it is, it goes on top of the Plutonium Box, to make it’s handle.
You know what Playmobil needs to do now? They Did the A-Team Van, The DeLorean, Ecto 1, and KITT already... We need AIRWOLF!
I’m familiar with that show existing, but I’ve never seen it. Is it any good? The chopper would be an awesome build though!

Thanks for the review. I’m still not sure if I like all the stickers. I’d rather have printed parts and would be happy to pay more for that… we ARE talking about a hugely nostalgic movie and legions of 80s teenagers who now would be happy to spend a few $ more for a quality set.
Thank you! Yeah, the stickers are a pain. And if you aren’t precise with placing them, it can through the whole look off. And trying to remove a crooked sticker to fix it, could damage the sticker. It feels so risky while putting them on.

@@PureHangout Yes, exactly what I thought too. A crooked sticker will ruin the whole appearance (as I remember from playing with Playmobil and Lego as a kid).
@@cecilm3720 even when using a toothpick to help me apply the stickers, I don’t always get it just right. A major annoyance. But when I succeed, I do feel pretty proud, I’ve got to admit.
You can make a Dorian as a regular DeLorean if you want

I’d love it if they continued to add to the collection. I know the BttF Advwnt calendar they released had portions of the Twin Pine Mall scene, but no van. The van would make a great addition. I’d love to be able to recreate the entire film via playmobil.
