When you said you were going ice diving, I was thinking you might want to visit the 2023 North American Ice Diving Festival on January 28th, 2023 at Square Lake, Stillwater Township, Minnesota, US. I am getting ice diver certified that weekend and it would be awesome to see you there.
That's an nice idea, it I was 20 years younger! I did ice diving classes every year on Lake Simcoe for decades. There may be a picture in one video, have to ask Kevin where it is. My last cold dives was an Alaska cruise in dry suits and icebergs. Lots of fun but I'm too sensitive to cold now. Thanks for the invite and have fun my friend. A
I purchased my Chris-Craft (prototype) because the whole aft deck is completely open - no motor housing or anything, just flat, clear real estate from the pilot chairs to the transom. Nothing to climb over, go around, or trip over. When anchored, the deck is just above the water, so no climbing or jumping from heights. All on a Grady hull! A very seaworthy hardtop. This configuration never went into production. Probably because it is built like a brick S-House. The hull sounds solid - even the dash is 3/8" fiberglass. I am sure it was expensive to build. Even the hardtop is epoxy coated stainless steel, probably 316 because it is not magnetic at all and is almost impossible to cut thru to run antenna wires, etc. All that and it does not heat up at all, even in direct sunlight. Not an oven or freezer as you would expect. It is one heck of a nice boat. Dave from the West Shore Mouth Breathers Association.
these old Volvo Penta are about the best drives for a boat that is used for commercial use, the aquamatic 100 and 200 series are a much better design and quality than the Mercruiser and OMC stern drives.
Nice dive boat thanks for another video always enjoy I met another diver on a cruise ship last week and he said he watches you also and we visited and shared some of our favorite episodes. 👍🤿
Really nice dive boat, love that ladder! Happy holidays!
It is a cool ladder. Not may divers know about them. Great when getting out of waves then remove the fins.
