I miss some of the 80's and 90's fireworks, they were fun. Thanks for taking me back Cody!
I miss the good old days of fireworks 💥 80s and 90s era , one of the best eras to live in . Those days are long gone . Great videos !
I miss the good old days in America. The 70s were even better. But I gotta say I’m loving the new fireworks. We didn’t have canister shells and 500 gram cakes back then 😅
Man in the 30’s was insane we used welding rods for sparklers
@@mr.pyro6262 lmao
@Backyard fireworks made it to the big leagues congrats bro
He deserves it!
Blessings to everyone in Pyro
Backyard and cody are the best!

I remember getting M-80s in the 60's. Crazy.
“Aged Fireworks” should be a thing. Just like wine
Yea. And as it is with wine, it only gets better, or stays good, when stored correctly.
Some of these fireworks have probably seen some moisture from the air over the years.
Moist air is the enemy of fireworks storage.
Really enjoy old vintage fireworks🔥🔥 I really enjoy the zenith aerial spinners
@0:47 The spider comes out from the right. Exactly at the time that you mention vintage old collection . What are the odds!😂
Also, I realize why I MUCH prefer old fireworks to new fireworks in terms of how they look. Old fireworks used handmade paintings for their artwork, which was then obviously replicated en masse. They felt more magical because it was more like artwork.. a magical work of fire. New fireworks often use quick cheap looking imagery, by people who dont give a flying *** about fireworks.
There's a local firework company here and they've used the same couple pirate paintings for like 30 years
Fire work’s kinda similar to ammunition for guns, u store them in the right place and they’ll shoot like brand new
Ahh... the camelia flowe! 1st fuse I ever lit. July 4th 1976 the bicentenial. I was 5 and remember it like it was yesterday! Great vid Cody! As usual!
I still got a Standard (UK) Air Bomb Repeater saved from Guy Fawkes night ~1986 🤣
I’m entertained CodyB
Dude on the Backyard channel says he bought ‘em in Columbia Missouri & the owner said “they made them better back then” I’m old enough to remember back then and I’m not sure about that, but they still are very enjoyable
A very good Wednesday evening to you all in the USA from Wellington Somerset in the UK 🇬🇧
Backyards fireworks is amazing. I’m so glad you said something about him.😊
I loved this video Cody I enjoy seeing vintage fireworks being lit and best of all seeing them work properly.
Brings back since good memories of the days that one could buy lots of small stuff for a couple of bucks and spend all night lighting it.
Camellia flowers are one of my favorites.
We used to have these small mats of jumping jacks (small ground blossom flowers) that we'd always take apart and light separately. The yellow ones used to fly off with a vengeance sometimes. Current ones don't do that anymore.
I have always loved happy 16’s. They are a great little cakes.
10/10
That time of year when I watch all the videos to get my hyped for the 4th of July!
I started a vintage collection just recently thanks to a fellow pyro!👍
I remember lighting up fireworks that I stored for 3 years in 2020 as all of them I bought were from 2017. They were very functional when lit
OMG YESSSS this is why I’m talking about these videos are so fun and enjoyable and also entertaining thank you so much Cody 😁
I'm a HUGE old firework fan. Especially fireworks from the 80s/90s (90s kid here). I had an idea for a video, maybe it'd be fun to go to firework stores and buy only the old looking fireworks? Moon chasers, Happiness, Twitter Glitter etc etc
ok last comment i swear - those small bee's mini cakes ARE SO COOOOOOOL
🔥
Ah yes. Miss these days. Left us with hope and imagination of our expectations growing up. And lit our love for fireworks
As long as they don’t get any moisture they should be fine!
I really love old fireworks.
Back when I was a kid ...
The Ground Bloom flower that I remember had three colors, yellow green and red, and they spun for a lot longer time than the current ones I tried using last year as an adult.
These only had two colors for a member correctly green and yellow and were much shorter in duration.
I collect old fireworks too, i still have quite a few British made stuff, mainly rockets and some of the old Chinese fireworks. those bees are cool, we call them screechers or hummers over here in the UK but the ones we have are fired from a cake or candle, never from the ground like those ones.
That was fun 👍👍👍👍
28 days tell the best holiday
If your not counting today 27, but yes!! I’m so excited!!
@@renplaysvlogsandgaming4253 always count today
❤❤
Awesome video!
Very nice cool show of old stuff 👌
Now I see why those spinners are so freaking dangerous. My heart skipped a beat when it landed on your roof.
The older the firework, the better they are.
Fireworks and ammo will last forever as long as they are stored in a dry container away from moisture!!
True! I have fired 1950s vintage .38 Spl and every round went off like they were new!
Crazy good ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Shout out Backyard Fireworks. The wheel getting stuck half way threw always happened in my childhood, at least today's wheels r better than old.
Awwww man Cody!!! this is amazing would love to see more vids like this!
Brings me back 40 years lol
Some of the old fireworks seem to be a lot better than new ones!
Backyard Fireworks makes awesome content!
VINTAGE IS THE BEST THATS WHY THATS ALL DO ON MY CHANNEL! … especially early dot pre 1985 and before handmade, better quality, larger amount of compositions and unfortunately will never go back to those times and with every vintage firework that gets lit that’s one less available for all time
I loved the colorful wheels as a kid. They were inexpensive, and spun for a long time. Can't find anything even close to those today.
Tip for the colorful wheel one. Film it straight on so we can see the design it creates. If your looking at a flat circle from the side, you only see a thin slice of what it creates. Nice old school fireworks.
i've got a few packs of black cat firecrackers i purchased in 1974 that still work. lit off a pack the other day and no duds out if 20.
👍👍👍
I love watching these videosssw
I remember the old triangle firework, it was like the spinning wheel but it was a triangle and it made a buzzing noise as it spun, it was one of my favorites
Good assortment
I have several fireworks that are 7-12 years old that I light off every 4th and have bottle rockets that are at least 20 years old and still shoot off great!!!
See I love my pyro RUclipsrs. honestly thank you so much Cody for recognizing he’s Channel he’s such a wholesome pyro and really shows the same enthusiasm and enjoyment for fireworks like you and I would love to see one day y’all do a video together it would be so awesome.
hahaha much love your Texan pyro
Not me in the mood to get on RUclips search old fireworks then get excited when I seen you posted 16 hours ago we must think alike 😂😂
Reminds me of cleaning out my buddy’s grandparents house after they passed, we found a cherry bomb from the 1950’s and I’ll tell you what those things are no joke 🤣 not surprised people blew their hands off back in the day
The camellia flowers were so much fun when I was younger😊
Omg I remember the old Plane ones as one Chassed my Dad all over the Garden was so Funny to see and the wheels with the Nail to worked Just Like yours did even when they was New Some was really good and other would light all over the Place one of them Spun so Fast it launched off the Nail and we all Run away Great Memories thanks Man Awesome
Just like when granny can still move them hips you gotta give her props 😂
They do if they were preserved properly.
And usually are Better, and So much more Enjoyable, Keep Preserving Pyro Mafia History
I agree, as long as they are stored properly they will last a long time and I have noticed on some variety of firecrackers that they seem louder. Maybe the quality of them were just better made back in the 80s.
@@klausbaummann1116 Firecrackers manufactured before the 1990's were definitely made better. More powder was in them, and crimping on the ends (instead of clay).
Fantastic memories from a much loved time past🤙🤙 real cherry bombs and m80’s to bottle rockets to bright cakes
Keeping the label on the firecrackers when you lit it killed me
It tipped 😂. Thanks for sharing from your stash agian cody👍🏼💪🏽.
'happy' was one of the best dirt cheap cakes ever.
Grand Video Cody. Some of those old fireworks I remembered from my days. ❤️
Great fun! Brings back so many memories of lighting novelties, fountains, and firecrackers on my driveway as a kid! So much fun!! I’m going to stock up on all my favorite novelties when I go to the firework store again and recreate those memories!!! Have myself a little throwback 4th of July this year!!!
Seems like happy firework still same things except older one has less color from oxidation.
The "Small Bees" cakes DID make a cool ass sound! I used them in conjunction with "Saturn Missile" Batteries back in the "old days"!
Oh man that wheel in the middle brings back some great childhood memories.
I have sparklers from my granddaddy from the 1950s. When I was visiting my parents in August I lit a handful off and they all did their job. Better then today’s sparklers!
Those ones that went up into the Air were amazing loved watching thanks keep doing these as I love watching fireworks high five 💯👍👍
Cool oldies. Thanks for the share.
I love backyard! It's awesome that you're shouting him out
This is awesome love it!
Cody, I believe the problem with the cat mobile isn't related to firecrackers but the whistling mixture, in the mid 80's I bought some whistling chasers made by red lantern fireworks, if the whistle got damp while in storage it would sizzle a little bit and then just explode
Let's go
Is this a reupload? The batmobile seems familiar. Yo dawg! Rising flag is at Shelton fireworks in Fremont Indiana and my stash 🤫
Blast from the past badass thanks for sharing pyro
if you unroll a colorful wheel and lay it flat it makes a REALLY loud and powerful firecracker.
Love UR videos cody ❤
Daddy Cody
@@evanstreittmatter7397 😂
awesome video thank u man
Loved the cat mobile 😂👌
Your gonna stand there owning a firework stand and tell me you don't have any whistling bungholes
Love it
Interesting content and good job on those 🔥works 🤙🏾
Hey Cody since your the goat firework channel 😂 I was wanting to ask you do you wear earplugs at all when you shoot fireworks, whether it’s just shooting off a few cakes or doing a whole big show, because I don’t wear them but some people have told me that they wear them when fireworks are getting shot off. Have no clue if you know or have any experience with earplugs but thx bro keep up the good work love your channel 💥
Cody and Luke are the two pyros I watch the most. I respect Joel but his videos are too short and could use some length.
which one do you recommend the hell’s angle canister or the out law canister?
I love your videos
Back in the 70s, Black Cat made some good firecrackers.
can someone please explain what the DOT era was and in detail. I'm really curious and like learning but i could find anything other than DOT labeling and the Department Of Travel website.
“Please don’t tip, *firework goes off*, It tipped”
Nice 🔥🔥
About 15 years ago my brother lit one of the spinning wheels , I don’t know why but I went off like a flash bang and my entire family and I were blind for a couple of seconds. We were all scared 😂
Any firework can fail in a bad way. When I was a young kid was either late 70’s or very early 80’s was at my grandads lighting fireworks. Lit a Roman candle. It was normal for about 30 seconds then BOOM! Whole thing detonated. Scared the sit out of us. Sounded like someone set of dynamite.
I’m surprised the Catherine wheel isn’t something more of a staple over in the us, it’s a mainstay in most supermarket firework packs over here in the uk
Those zeneth spinner things are awesome if they're the ones that report.
Big fan of Coby b and backyard fireworks
back when you could have blue fireworks. i mean you still can its just really hard now with all the banned chemicals
Those are awesome fireworks love that
