Very helpful, I am wanting to re-use the bunch of v-mounts I already have from my Ursa and thought about the Tilta plate, but no way would I want to mount it sideways like. The Core looks better but I'll probably just get the Jupio ProLine BP-955 D-Tap Battery Adapter, so I can still use my v-mounts and have a battery slot free (where I'll use a red/canon bp battery for hot swapping the v-mounts).
8:58 What you saw was not the standard V-Mount adapter, but the Tilta Advanced Power Distribution Module. It's basically the adapter plate but with a breakout box for the Komodo's EXT port included. Plus, you can mount it horizontally or vertically, just as you like it. Maybe this is worth another look?
Another huge downside for the Tilta is that the Tilta isn't RED approved, which means that if something goes wrong, RED will not service your camera because you used the Tilta adapter. I also would recommend you check out the wooden camera plate. It's kind of the best of both worlds.
Which batteries are the right ones? Since the Tilta V-Mount adapter isn't RED approved, it shouldn't be able to communicate percentage and time remaining, just voltage... At least for now. I'm hoping Tilta will come out with a different version that has RED's official approval.
Such good info. You deserve way more subs!
Great info! Thank for sharing! Exactly what I was searching for while choosing the plate

Have a look at my setup. with the smaller battery and tilta v mount plate
Yeah, I can't stand reviews that don't do their research. There are plenty of batteries out there that look excellent with the Komodo.
Thanks you Mike Sorrentino for the comparison.
Lol Iv never had anyone say that 🤣

if you buy the right v mount battery , the tilta v mount adapter will translate information about the v mount , voltage , time remaining etc
