    I do not have a breadmaker unless you count Stevie. She recently made homemade white bread and OMG. It was the best white bread I've ever had.

      There is really nothing quite like homemade! I love making bread by hand as well. It’s so therapeutic kneading the dough and waiting for it to rise.

      If you don’t want to invest too much I’ve seen my exact bread maker at second hand stores a lot. They usually go from $10 to $20! Most people buy them thinking they will use them and then they don’t lol

    Can I switch out the flour for GF , and take out the yeast?

    • @Megankerry888
      @Megankerry888  4 года назад +1

      I haven't tried this recipe gluten free-yet. I just picked up new breadmaker yesterday that has a gluten free cycle, so I will be experimenting in the next few months.

    i've never made bread myself :) and i definitely did not know this is as easy. How long does it typically store for? I also think it is really great to make your own bread because whenever I read ingredients on store-bought bread I cringe haha

    • @Megankerry888
      @Megankerry888  5 лет назад

      +Real Polya I totally agree! It’s amazing what a difference in taste there is too. It’s very easy to make. If you don’t have a bread maker you could borrow one or pick one up second hand. There a a ton around:) enjoy!!

    Is sugar absolutely needed ? Could a sugar alternative be used instead?

    • @Megankerry888
      @Megankerry888  3 года назад +1

      The sugar interacts with the yeast. If you leave the sugar out then I would suggest increasing the amount of yeast so you get the same rise. There are a ton of breads that don’t use sugar but they are usually made by hand and given a longer rise so the yeast can “eat” the sugar that breaks down from the flour.

    • @Megankerry888
      @Megankerry888  4 года назад

      Oh no! That really is disappointing Jessica. Next time try adding 1/4 tsp more yeast. Bread recipes are finicky depending on how you measure your ingredients and where you live (humidity, and elevation).
