My Favorite Seger Song. Especially now at my age. Life do fly by.
The older i get , the more this song hits me. 🥴
Seger: The King of Nostalgia for Lost Youth
Well Said. Thank You.
He was inducing a nap mostly for me. Night Moves was a good song but that would form an earworm. Not as bad as Journey's nahnahnanahnaaa garbage of course. But Bob Seger never did it for me. Nothing against him personally. But in his genre was The Steve Miller Band among 100 other better songs bands. Bob Seger was like watching junior olympics instead of watching Carl Lewis dominate Track & Field real Olympics.
Amen to that.
Oh, my.
Bob takes us to church with this one.
At 64 years old, this song sure hits me different than it did when it came out. Amazing what age can do to you.
Agreed! I am your age and can't name how many tunes that I didn't have any interest in when I was younger. Then one day, at some point later in life you hear it again and it becomes a fave cuz you finally "Get it"!!!
@@carlaharrington5120 ... Yup.
I agree it's not as boring and depressing sounding. Now it just makes me feel old. LoL!!! Puff puff pass pass; too much out there much better.
Yes it does
I am 60 and you've got that right.
The older you get, the better this gets.
Bob Seger Detroit Grit Legendary! Try Back in 72. The Album is Fantastic. Chevrolet Corvette guy 🇺🇸🏁
San Antonio , Texas 64 years old still jammin to Bob Seger
Like his soft voice, and then hell, yes.
Maynard Kennan esque
Anthem of the working man forget lazy people something that makes you proud Thank you Bob👍👍
This is the story of every man life as he is now older.
I'm Canadian and Bob Seger makes me proud to be American!
That's pretty cool.
😊
As an American, that's how I felt about Gordon Lightfoot...🤘
Brilliant
Same here! @@estacadarocks3446
I'm 61 and I thank God often that he blessed my generation with the absolute BEST music to grow up with. Glad y'all are enjoying it. I'm still enjoying it with you.
This song speaks everything American. Pride, strength, endurance and bountiful with a bit of selflessness. Seger hooks it all on this one.
The moon comes calling a ghostly white. What a great line.
It may be Saturday, but this just took me to CHURCH! As I grow older...this touches me much deeper in my soul ❤
Thank you for playing this...😢 gives me a tear ot two. Bob Segar is AMERICA 🇺🇸
Church was always extremely boring and manipulative. So good analogy. I'll pass. John Denver on the other hand is quite spiritual, as is Al Green. Bob Seger is a snoozefest. Keeping it real.
@@Greg-io1ip I'm an Al Green fan too. But John Denver, to me is BORING! Never cared for his music at all- as you put it, He was a snoozefest to me. Not R+R like Bob Segar.
I used to sing in the church choir, it was Music that moved+ moves me. I used 'church' as a figure of speech. Different strokes, as they say. We halfway agree. ☮️
Have a great day.
Wow ! I feel the same way about Seger ! Ive heard all of his songs a million times but it wasn’t until I got older that I absolutely fell in love with em ! They mean way more to me now than they once did !
NICE COMMENT !😊
One of the best guitar solos ever - especially the Outro.
Rick Vito.
Check out Come to Poppa by Bob. It’s funky and fire 🔥🔥
Bob Seger is WELL worth getting into. An American treasure.
I'm 57 years old now. I've seen all the great classic rock bands live....except for Bob Seger. I've been listening to his music since I was a kid but for some reason I never got to see Bob Seger live. I know Bob Seger has already done a farewell tour, but I'm hoping he goes on the road one more time. I'll be first in line to buy tix if he does.
Strong Message There Brothers.
The most autobiographical song writer I've ever heard, if he sings it you know he lived it. The man wears his heart on his sleeve.
Bob feels every word he sings and you will too. Story telling songs with a lot of soul. An absolute rock icon.
It's one of the best slide guitar solos ever put on vinyl. The amazing Rick Vito!
One of the greatest, important, and influential songs ever recorded. If you listen to this and your emotions don't go to 11, then you are walking around brain dead with no soul.
Song brings a tear to my eye.
The "now" old man, remembering how he was in his youth. IAt 67 yrs old. I can relate to that.
Great song by a great artist.
One of the GREATEST story tellers of our time!!!!!!
America's number one song writer, full stop.
The greatest sorrow of “older” men is remembering when they were young men.
This was always one of my favorite Segar songs. It hits hard both lyrically and musically.
My Dad had this played as we walked beside his casket being delivered to the cemetery in a buckboard wagon.
That’s powerful! My sympathies….
My youth, my man Bob. True love. Strong man. Like a rock.🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I’m 77 and this song gets me. I love being a man and not apologizing for being one.
A classic hit! My favorite from Bob
Bob Seger never allowed commercial use of his songs except for Chevy. At the time the commercial aired the car industry was in trouble. Being a Detroit native, he agreed that this song could be used for the new trucks. Needless to say this definitely boosted sales.
Oh give me a break. He signed a massive contract for this sponsorship, paying more than his record royalties.
And he didn’t take a penny for its use……

@@KennyCamaro2364The burden of proof is on the person making the outrageous claim, not the person saying they are crazy. Dude nobody is giving their music away free, to a huge corporation. Put the weed down, take a shower, and go look for a job.
He is correct. He took no money. Of course, now he's getting his royalties.
The LEGEND MR.SEGER
“I still believed in my dreams .” A simple lyric that holds so much weight.
Bob takes you to church on this one. "20 years now, where'd they go? 20 years, I don't know. I sit and I wonder sometimes, where they've gone." An older man reflecting back on his younger days.
Bob Seger i s Pure Americana !!
Brings tears to my eyes. Powerful song!
You two need to watch his video of Roll Me Away. The passion with which he sings it gives you goosebumps. The piano makes you feel like you are riding the bike with him. The Silver Bullet Band and Bob Seger are a great combination. Seeing him perform the song makes all the difference.
In the Detroit auto was down to Japanese sales were strong on Toyota. Bob seager re corded this song to help Detroit his home turf gave All money made and royalties to Chevy auto 😮😮😅❤🎉
The older I become the more this song’s meaning hits home with a smile and emotion looking at my 4 kids turning into adults and them now them having kids. “ 20 years where they go”. No kidding.
Don't take this wrong but I listened to this while driving to my father's funeral. He was a rock. WWII and Korea combat veteran and a wonderful father. It still brings the misty eyes and likely always will but in a good way. Thank you very much for this.
Beautiful comment. So sorry for your loss. Respect to our Veterans 🇺🇸
What I appreciate about this song besides the words is that they kept the tempo and did not feel the need to rush it as the song developed. This is the song you return to as you age and it continues to add importance and value. I relate more to this song in my sixties than I did when I was a young rock.
New sub here cuz of Bob Segar!
This song hits different now.. when i was in my 20s i felt one way about this song. NOW, decades later i feel another way😢 old
Detroit Michigans own and an American treasure Bob Seger
This song isnt about national pride or what country your from, its about the human condition and how invinsible you feel when you are young and have your whole life ahead of you.
That man is an American treasure! His sing catalog rivals all the top artists out there. Plus he wrote and produced most of his music. Long live Bob Seger!
After the singer/songwriters of the late sixties/early seventies, Bob was one of the great American singer/songwriters that followed that sung about life in America, and growing up being an American....others in that vein are Bruce Springsteen, John Melencamp and John Denver.
Like many Seger greats he manages to be upbeat even during the lows. The final verse is reflective and nostalgic for the strength of youth he once had. Not just physical but the strength to bear the world emotionally. It gets harder. Also he slipped a sweet “runnin against the wind” callback 🔥
".....snore zzzzz". Seger was boring. Keeping it real.
One of the best songs ever. I was born in Finland, grew up in Australia, discovered Bob, Went back to Finland, moved to Ireland and his lyrics still resonate. I had a friend in Ireland, older than me, and I like music when I'm driving and this song came on on iPod and he started singing to it, asked me who it was. He had never heard of Bob Seger as he had grown up in different time and place. My friend passed away last August and my memories are of driving along Irish roads and singing "like a rock" with him. Bob's lyrics and voice are universal. So drunk right now and miss my friend. Irish whiskey and Bob Seger is a good, great place to be when you are feeling nostalgic.
Is this y'all's first dip into Bob Seger? God bless. NIGHT MOVES, COME TO POPPA, OLD TIME ROCK N ROLL, SHAME ON THE MOON, STILL THE SAME, SHAKEDOWN, HER STRUT... Okay, that's enough. I'm just a big Seger STAN. Probably because he's big on nostalgia. Keep 'em coming, please.
He is one of the greatest storytellers. Bob is awesome.
Best slide guitar solos, ever.
If you want just pure Americana Rock & Roll this is where you go!! I hear so many people say they can relate to Bob Seger's songs, and "I wonder sometimes" if that is true, then maybe we all have more in common than we think.
If everyone just listen to bob seger then everything would just be cool and alright.
Quite the sad song, sums up a mans long journey🤘❤️
I want to recommend you listen to/review a Bob Seger tune EAST SIDE STORY (single release, 1966). This is one of his early songs that focused on social injustice, poverty, war, and the importance for individualism. I think you will be amazed by Bob's sound and his feelings in this tune. Thank you for your great reactions.
The sound on your videos is excellent. Not only your voices, but also the music you play. You guys put vast majority of all the reaction videos to shame. Great job guys!
Makes me proud to be have been born AND raised in the D...period❗️❗️
Being from Detroit, we never missed a Seger concert. We had little help, his keyboard player Robyn lived 2 doors down from us. When the black limo pulled up we knew Seger was in town. He's Detroit and the people. Love him! So many great memories!
Every time, every single time. This song brings me to the edge. And I’m grateful for all the memories.
One of my all time favorite Seger tunes! As you get older you understand these lyrics more and more! The line towards the end of this song (like a rock, hard against the wind) also pays homage to one of my other favorite Seger tunes, Against the Wind from 1980. Maybe you guys could give that song a review also?
Might be heart against the wind
The song has been making me cry since I was 38 years old, because the words just made more sense then when I was younger. The end solo is one of the best...
Haven’t listened in many many years…. I’m nearing 60, and this time hearing brought tears to my eyes.
Seger always delivers...
Always
An American anthem for all the parts of this country that are still good
It's a song that tells you where you've been and where you going in life. You grow up and face many things You can Take it. Or you can stand up and make it.
Just remember. It's not how you start. It's how you finish.
And when things get you Down. Get. back to what you know? Thank you, Jeff.
a National Treasure
The storytelling and nostalgic reminiscing of this song is amazing. Also I think this is the best slide guitar solo and outro in recorded music history imo. Brings tears to me eyes.
If you want to see the extent of the passion he sings with, check out his cover of Little Drummer Boy1989. Goosebump city, he put his all in that cover. Make sure you get the video with the original tv show. Thanks. Love Seger.
Yes Bob Seger's song-writing is top notch!
Bob Seger is a great storyteller. I think this feels like old school country music in a way (not the pop music it's become) because of the American landscape it's set in. But the background sounds like a church choir. The thing about Bob is, he sounds sincere at all times.
Good morning to you fellas. Thank you for starting my weekend off. An amazing song from an amazing artist. Mr Seger is the epitome of Amerancana music and rock. Thanks for bringing that up. As always fellas great reaction. Appreciate you 🙏 ❤
At 62, I remember, where did the years go
One of the best reaction channels on RUclips. You guys are honest with the reactions, which in its self is refreshing. Not to mention your experience in recording. Thank you! Everyone should Subscribe 👍
Bob Seger fit's nicely in the Southern Rock Genre
And he's from Detroit! 🙂
Rick Vitto's slide guitar work is just perfection on this classic cut.
Fella's, you need to get into some EARLY live Bob Seger. He was so good live. Played all over the midwest. Live Bullet from 76 was a double live album that made his career. He gained so many fans from that album.
Another rock king!
It's so much better when you watch the video..trust me
Bobs a true American storyteller
There is nothing like listening to Bob Segar.
❤😢😢😢😢❤
Important to know…Bob’s on the piano!!
Fire Lake is another sound … the background vocals are his buddies from the Eagles!😊
Great song and vocal. I enjoy your appreciation. Bob's friends call him RG, for Rock God.
FYI, I do not believe RG is known for his lead guitar--more as composer and vocalist. From the interwebs:
"Guitarist/singer Rick Vito played the guitar on this song. Vito was in Fleetwood Mac from 1987-1991. The album version of this song is 5:56 long. The single version was cut down to 4:36."
Thanks, guys.
Bob is awesome that's all there is to say
I was turned on to Segers music when Night's Moves was released. Seger is primarily a keyboard player, and his band does the guitars, I believe.
You guys are spot on saying his songs evoke strong emotions of 'Americana '.
Seger is a Detroit native and it makes sense that GMC used this song to sell their trucks
Have you heard Turn the Page?... Love you kiddos... Peace be with you
My man said it all…… I agree with you. When I think of classic rock and someone saying hey, what would you classify as classic rock would say Bob Seger fits that Bill just about better than anybody
Glory days, once upon a time. ❤
A uniting song for all Americans!!!
Love me some Bob Seger❤❤❤❤❤
If this song doesn't take you back 50 years.....
Another one I'm sure you guys know is 'Against The Wind'. It's been featured on a few movie soundtracks including 'Forest Gump'.
Truck commercials over played this- but still a great song- you need to do Hollywood Nights and Her Strut
good to see some reactors that actually know a little about and even play some instruments enjoying my old favs, your dad sounds like a solid guy, keep up the great work, ill be there
Love the powerful solo. Clean
That guitar slide thing is dope af
