I know it talks about L.A.'s struggle with eating disorders and body image issues, but in my son's case, he is now five and is showing signs of Autism, making him a uniquely abled child. I never want him to be ashamed of that. I want him to embrace it and accept himself for who he is. That's what this song says to me for him.

Love the song. What really got me was the comments shown in the video saying she needs to lose weight. Um... 1) she's gorgeous and should ignore them and 2) what business is it of those people? It never ceases to amaze me how unkind people can be when they are sitting at a keyboard making comments instead of saying something to someone's face. The golden rule continues to be the best guide- treat others as you would like to be treated.

Seeing the vid I was amazed at how young Lauren was, you tend to think of songs like this, with such a strong message to be done by an older more established singer, by sounds someone of about Shania Twain's age
I love this sweet girl. She worked with my special needs daughter when they were in Middle school together. She even flew us out to see her on American Idol she sang, "The Climb." ❤❤

The increase of cyber bullying has probably led to more deaths by suicide, easier propoganda spreading, extremist groups publicity and on the computer front it allows for easier transfer of viruses and other computer malware

When I saw in the video the comment to her about needing to lose weight I couldn't believe someone actually sent that to her. She is a very beautiful woman who's talent, creativity, and personality make her a uniquely amazing person. Shows in a sense a Southern Pride , and makes me think about the rebel hearts who took on the U.S. Government in the 1860s to protect their newly founded freedom . Throat surgery does not necessarily mean the end of a career, look no further than one of my old favourites, Bonnie Tyler, found nodules on her throat, she was advised to keep quiet. She managed to for a while in the end she got frustrated shouted something, I don't know what, that is what have her the unusual, hoarse type voice, along came Lost in France and the rest is history

About 10 or 11 years ago, there was a girl named Grace who posted a comment in Lauren Alaina's high school video!
She posted a comment "my brother killed himself cuz Lauren bullied him, my life is fuked up". Lauren's mother threatened her to take it down and later on, she deleted her comments by Lauren's mother pressure! In a couple days later, I think I chatted with Lauren's father and this is his exact words: "I feel sorry for the kid too but there's nothing I can do now" so have to move on".

Matthew like you when I first read some of these comments upset me and I wasn't even the one being called. Now I know how to do it I am considering reporting all for cyber bullying. They plain and simple don't know the problems eating disorders can cause, don't quote me on it but I think it was a heart condition caused by the anorexia that KILLED Karen Carpenter, they are not to be laughed at or ignored. As for using medical conditions like Downs Syndrome as a put down is just totally wrong, I am epileptic myself so know the total frustration and irritation long term illness can cause and just basically wish all the haters would SHUT THE F*** UP and leave Lauren to enjoy the benefits of hopefully a long and successful career in the music business. The way this song is written. It reminds me of the 90's, early 2000's style and sound. The drums and the slow down really sinks it in to me. I listen to everything and sometimes I will back off from a genre, and I did almost completely, so I had never heard this song. I have been struggling lately, and I heard this song that just hit me, reminds me of old "The Chicks," "Martina McBride," "Jo Dee Messina," and a "very young Faith Hill," and so many others that raised me. Beautiful voice, heart, and just when I needed it. I had to record it on my phone Shazam wasn't having it.7 years later.
