My father Vincent Cowen worked on the Homebush back in the 1960s the Victoria Mill had 45 of the same design , he was loading a run of carriages one morning and got his thumb between the Homebush,s buffer and the carraige buffer, it squashed it flat , it was still flat 20 years later . I remember the story , many years later when we lived at Forrest Beach we would drive past Victoria Mill and the Homebush would be out the front on show , he swore at it every time
