Ah yes! Please do let me know if you use some other plant for salad in hot weather. I think others can benefit from your experience. I use Amaranth in summer for salad, the newer leaves are good for fresh eating, the older ones are good for cooking. It is very easy to grow and a very pretty plant, if you want to try it.
Sadly, it's already too late for most of these in central Florida. Lettuce is already bolting. 😢
