I know that developing a game is no walk in the park, but they advertised it too early and that combined with their “anti crunch policy” worries me that they’re using it as an excuse to give us crumbs to live off of forever
It's tough, but it's better for a game to take longer to release and be well-made than to come out quickly and be incomplete. We should support them and be patient so they can bring us the game in its best version.
I think people are just super impatient... It's actually not that weird at all for games to announce themselves super early + we don't really know entirely what's going on behind the scenes... The game is on its way and it's great they're taking their time rather than rushing work out People should especially stop comparing other games releasing to this one 🙄 every game has its own unique and different development cycle let them work and it'll be great
Yeah but annoucing titles years ahead can be somewhat counterproductive. It can lead potential costumers to think it might be just abandoned/canceled or poeple don´t have it on their radar anymore wich affects marketing in a bad way. I don´t want the project to be rushed or anything but it´s way better to announce something and actually have a big portion of the game already done and release it in near future. I also first heard of this many years back and checked on it from time to time but almost never got any new updates on it. Ok, in the video we got told that they also worked on Wargroove wih I wasn´t aware of but also followed news about that game too but not really looked at the devs of it. I hope they can now focus more on Witchbrook again.
@@grams18I totally agree with you. I work in marketing and am marketing professional, and I don’t recommend doing this at all. The game was announced in 2020 or 2021, don’t remember, it’s too much time, I don’t see fair to say people are impatient. If you announce a product, interested users want updates, because you announced it, but if you last like 3 years until next update, you can’t expect that people remember your product anymore, and less yet in this time and years full of announcements. This was a very poor marketing movement, I would only recommend to announce a game with 6 months vista (unless we are talking about huge sagas like Mario, Zelda or Pokemon, for example, in those cases I would say 1 year and a half maximum). Anything further that period will be completely forgotten. Another case, if you want to work hardly on a community, something highly recommended for indie games, I would agree with the fact of announcing the game with more time, but JUST if you are going to feed that community and provide updates on Discord, Kickstarter, social media…but Witchbrook developers answer very few times, and they don’t provide any update, we haven’t even seen the game in movement after almost 3 years. So, to sum up, very bad managed communication, they should learn for future products.
I'd have a little more faith if someone could just show me an actual moving image of it and not just static pixels
I’d agree with that 👍 Hopefully we’ll have more information soon but no idea why updates have stopped completely so I can only speculate.
theres a few gifs on the discord !
I'm just happy that it's still being developed. I almost forgot about this game, thanks!
The devs sometimes come on the discord channel to answer some stuff. They seem to really care about this project and are eager to get it out ❤
This game has such beautiful aesthetics and cool theme. I hope developers do not give this up even if it takes long time to finish this project :)
I didn't know what anti-crunch means, but I'm so glad they think this way. It enables creativity and stops burnout from piling up.
Also, great video!
Would be nice if we would gets some updates on how the process is going like every 6 months or so, or like at all :D
It's been like 4 years since I heard they were making this game.
It was first teased 8 years ago
I’m just so happy to hear that it’s still being worked on I’m excited for it to come someday
Yeah the industry is a mess ,
but glad chuclefish is sticking to their crunch-less policy.
Thanks for the update
I'll gladly spend my money on this as soon as it comes out
It would be way more convincing if every screen shot wasn't dated 2022.... if it comes out great but I'm not even following it any more...
I'm glad this popped up in my feed! I honestly forgot Witchbrook existed until now, but I'm glad to see the devs are still working on it.
i'd rather wait for so long and see the game very well made, than a fast build one that has many bugs and errors.
let 'em cook!
i know this game will be as big as BG3 once it releases. will def be worth the wait.
I will wait forever if I must. I just hope they give us a compelling bachelor, Rune factory completely lost me on 5.

I had recently given up hope. Thanks for this 😍
love your accent.
Thanks :) I'm not overly fond of my voice so nice to hear people don't feel the same.
same! Very pleasant to listen to in general! ^^
Release date help!!!
No release date as of yet but hoping they’ll announce it soon 🤞
Chucklefish does not inspire much hope
I think part of this is that they marketed the game too early and now have a huge empty space with nothing to fill it with.

Lol does nobody in here know what chucklefish did with starbound.
