Get a step-by-step walkthrough of how easy it is to unlock the power of ground penetrating radar and detect utilities with the Leica DSX Utility Detection Solution. The Leica DSX does all the heavy lifting, by interpolating the ground penetrating radar results, through a set of sophisticated computational algorithms. Whether you are performing utility repair and maintenance, civil engineering and surveying companies, the Leica DSX utility detection solution allows even beginners to look like pros with its intuitive software interface. Unlike any other ground penetrating radar (GPR) system, the Leica DSX maximizes productivity with cutting-edge software automation data analysis and creates a 3D utility map in the field. The Leica DSX can detect all types of underground utilities in high resolution to allow you to generate reliable avoidance zones. You also can import POI's and utility records to help you make better decisions. This survey-grade solution will be able to create utility maps that are compatible with all coordinate systems, allowing for a smooth workflow from acquiring to excavation.

Great job with this Simon! The gpr technology can appear to be quite complicated, but you explain the use of the DSX very well.

I think if we separate the sensor and transmitter so we can control the scan depth as we wish as long as they are in strain line ao instead of walking we pull in from far in so map scan from deep to shallow

In this case, you cannot blame it, but in the case of wires, it is much easier Also, in the event that there are no wires, sometimes a magnetic earth measuring device will do the trick as long as the depth is simple, very cheap, easy to use and small I am not saying that the gpr is not good, I mean that with equipment like this it is supposed to be used for deep and difficult to reach things. Thank you for the video and explanation

That's a crappy system. If I'm running GPR to locate utilities, I want to see them in real time. I don't want to waste time with a grid and having to use a giant triangle and string to lay out my pattern. On top of that the UI on the tablet looks like crap. Leica failed with this.

What he does us area scan which is different than line scanning. You don't need to setup and grid marking when you do line scan as it shows utility on screen hyperbole. Area scan gives you 3D with which is called Augment Reality. Both has different purposes but they give same Informations such depth and distance.

A family is needing help to find their daughter who may have been buried under a slough where they filled in some with dirt and widened the road. Typically when utilities are constructed, they are put into the existing plans. Not sure what the aim of all this is really.

You usually can’t read the damn things for starters. Secondly, a lot and i mean a lot of things go under the rug after projects are written up and checks are signed. Also, If there are pipes that have been out of usage it's important to locate these pipes when attempting replace existing. It has the same aim for pipes having tracer wire on them.
