The rice burger is a good idea but they should have matched it to the size of the patty. I hate the excess of mayo that most restaurants are putting on sandwiches.. it's just too much. I'd like to try the burger tho, just for the experience. Luv you man. We're all traveling and eating with you. Can't wait to see where we go next

That is actually engawa or “fin meat” (of fluke/flounder)... it is my fave too! Rare cut of fish... like 3-5% of the fish.... think pork cheek or chateaubriand cuts. Only 4 pieces of engawa per entire fluke/flounder/flatfish... more expensive than fatty tuna.
I read that the machines take some effort to disassemble and clean, so US workers ‘refuse’ to put in the effort. Someone said the workers are just lazy, compared to the Japanese staff
The name of the conveyor belt sushi is "Nemuro Hanamaru Sushi" and it´s in a building called 'Kitte' on the fifth floor. The location is right next to Tokyo Station, it´s easy to find on google maps. It has amazing sushi for just slightly higher prices. Enjoy!
Love this video, Mikey! For friends out there that don't speak Japanese or read kanji, I think this will be really helpful! When you are out and about going to look for a restaurant to go to, sometimes the sign will say: "open" but the places aren't really open. One of the most useful kanji to you could be: 「準備中」「じゅんびちゅう」(jyunbi chuu) which means "in the middle of preparation"- for service. This means that the restaurant isn't open to customers yet because they're preparing the mise en place and broths/etc. also, you might see: 「休み中」(yasumi chuu/restaurant not in service/break/holiday) or the best one -->「営業中」(eigyou chuu/open/in service) I hope this is useful to those traveling to Japan! :)
The sign in this video doesn't say "open", it says "open 時 分" which means "opening at _ o'clock". The shop just didn't fill the time in because the opening hours are actually on the sign right below. You can't just go about interpreting part of a sign. It's like thinking you can enter an area with the sign "Do not enter" on it because "enter" is the only word you recognize.
Vivid A Vivid A You’re being unnecessarily rude. It CLEARLY says 準備中 and _時_分。The times are below but people don’t know what 準備中 is. If it says 準備中, they’re preparing for service. 営業中 is in service. The sign also very clearly says “open” in english. If you’re a foreigner that doesn’t have any experience with kanji or hanzi, OPEN is what sticks out for you. It DOES say open but because it says 準備中 it is not open for service. “You can’t just go about interpreting part of a sign”...you did that with the english 😂 To people with no kanji/hanzi knowledge, 準備中/営業中/時/分 means nothing...they will see “OPEN” and go for it. I’m not out here spreading false information. Obviously it’s okay for a business to put the hours below with the days of the week, but the main point here is 準備中。3:03.

I've never been to a Japanese McDonald's because I prefer the traditional style food. I don't know if McDonald's in Japan has Yakiniku burgers, but those are awesome! I make them from scratch. You pretty much mold sushi rice into patties to act as buns and put them in the skillet to get a little brown. I like having chicken patties as the meat, but you can eat them with anything. Portobello mushrooms with apple cider vinegar or soy sauce brushed on it is a good alternative to meat. I also like putting some wasabi into the rice for a little extra kick.
