Any way for someone on your "People" list to get a push notification when location is shared via satellite? Or must the person on the other end manually go into Find My app to check if the location has been updated? Seems like an oversight not to get a push notification so it can be used as an "OK - Check in" type notification when off the grid and update location via satellite.

Agreed and I’d say that "an oversight" is quite an understatement. Not being able to do that would be exorbitantly stupid. This should obviously be doable not just as a check in but as an "I'm stranded; come pick me up" message without needlessly getting emergency services involved.

Awesome! Any way to send text message or call via satelite? I mean making a call to a loved one in a totally different country? Thanks.

No. It's only for contacting emergency services or sending your location via find my.

Like someone else asked, is it possible for the person you send your location to to be immediately notified so that they don't have to take the initiative of going into the app to see that you've sent it? I sure hope so; otherwise, this feature can't be used to send an "I'm stranded; come pick me up" message. That would be quite stupid and it would force you to call on emergency services in some situations where it shouldn’t be necessary.

It’s not. You are left wondering Find my sucks ever since iOS 13. Can never refresh a location of a person like I used to on 12.
