This is one of my favorite songs of all time regardless of it being from a game. This version is absolutely beautiful. I get hypnotized by the chords swaying from side to side.
ruclips.net/video/LRt8vT4nh8w/видео.html check this, then... He plays this song at 3:57.... and it HURTS ME for it is just for some 20~ seconds. Because it is absolutely beautiful
How can such a dark game and music be so close to the soul yet feel so light I will never forget this piano version I've just heard it for the first time and I am in tears. Will make sure to come back here because I fall in love with this even more now hearing how beautifully complicated this is.
I can agree with some of them, but I want to quote another user, from another of my videos regarding these "mistakes": "They're not mistakes, they're intentionally added to give it some style and its great! Some people just don't understand creativity." I worked with what I had at hand, and within my own skill level, and made it sound like I wanted it to, almost. I'm pleased with it.
I used to play keyboard quite a bit in my youth. Even composed some of my own stuff. This has made me want to play again! Would love to be able to play this epic track.
You should definitely be pleased with it. I'm just being very picky because I've loved the original for the past 13 years and so far have not found a cover that is perfectly true to it.
Part 1: I hope this doesn't come across as too harsh. I do appreciate that covers of this wonderful song get uploaded. The best parts in this video in my opinion are 0:00 - 1:26, and 4:48 - 5:29. I agree with the previous poster that there was indeed some drift in the middle.
Very nice job. I was classically trained and I understand music theory and I have over 20 years of piano experience plus I teach so for me, it was easy to pick up by following your this. Diablo was one of my favorite games growing up as a kid and I mainly play sports games.
And regarding the backgrounds: Kind of hard to explain, but when I listen to certain music, I get this kind of images, or scenery, in my head. I try to bring these along when i make these videos. They kind of "complete" the feeling of listening to music.
Thanks ;) It was all done with a notation software, and some minor tweaking with a midi software. I started this project some time ago, and was about to give up half way. That's why I asked if you had the sheets earlier. ;)
I think six octaves is enough. An octave is 8 keys long, that's 48 keys. Any long enough will do. If you're for starters, try to go to piano lessons. However if you're stubborn or don't have time like me, and don't fancy reading notes, download for yourself Synthesia (the program shown in the video) and download any midi file songs you want to play. But I advice to learn the notes if you want to play well. Start off by something easy like Fur Elise, Tetris or Turkish March.
Nice! Did you get a midifile from Max Loh, or have you created it on your own by writing it again in a notation software? Anyway, this piece is really hard to write as sheets, I guess thats why also Max didn't write anything out...
Russell Brower did the Diablo 3's Tristram theme by keeping the original scheme. I guess your troll can't be real when you're talking about Diablo and Blizzard's musics.
Thank for sharing it ^^ Hard is to restituate this song without original sheets and fans like me not able to perfectly ready sheets love variante of tristram piano and ! this one, is easy way to play tristram. Website on link is cool too ! Hope all take eye's on it ; ) Regards.
What are good songs to learn for beginners? I prefer video game music such as Metal Gear Solid, Assassins Creed, Starcraft (if that's possible), Diablo, etc. all those things would be wonderful, but I'm very willing to try something new. I can't play with both hands yet, but I'll get there! Any help and advice would be appreciated. :)
+Hero0fTimee Not being able to play with both hands and wanting to play video game music severely limits your options. Most one-hand sheets you'll find are common beginner songs. Maybe just pick up a song you like with a simple melody and only play the right hand, or even the vocal line? Though I'd recommend introducing the left hand as soon as possible even if it's only to play a bass note. I'm self-taught but my first song, while a simplified version of the song, still included both left and right hand. Building strength and nimbleness in your non-dominant early helps a lot.
what did you set for instruments on synthesia? i noticed the midi the midi playback sounds different from the video if not slightly worse than the video/
Hey Rinerion, I'm a studying Audio Student with the Art Institute of Seattle and I plan to do my own composition of either this song or the Westmarch theme from Diablo III. I'm curious to know what program this is. Is this Sibelius or Synthesia?
Don't get me wrong here I'm not trying to be funny or anything, its just the program your using it kinda reminds me of the way Guitar Hero game is with the layout, except it would be called Piano Hero or something, and this would be a great game for people who like Piano and want to play along with their favorite songs done by Piano. =)

It really is a sound that takes you into the game and into yourself
I'm 40, and I'm still stuck on the other side of the river.
I understand.
The memories

I've been watching this clip for years. This still holds up so well. Great job

rinerion I enjoyed it. Thank you for putting this together. Beautiful.
this showed up in my feed this afternoon. After reading through the comments I am glad you did not call it quits half way through. You did a nice job!
Wow. Absolutely mesmerized. Hands down best piano version.
I used to play keyboard quite a bit in my youth. Even composed some of my own stuff. This has made me want to play again! Would love to be able to play this epic track.

2:58 onward is my favorite part of this interpretation. Great job!
I agree. That last bit is by far the most atmospheric part. Gives me chills every time.
You should definitely be pleased with it. I'm just being very picky because I've loved the original for the past 13 years and so far have not found a cover that is perfectly true to it.
fantastic... hypnotizing

Id love a vid of someone playing this well on piano
And regarding the backgrounds: Kind of hard to explain, but when I listen to certain music, I get this kind of images, or scenery, in my head. I try to bring these along when i make these videos. They kind of "complete" the feeling of listening to music.
so dope
it's amazing how changing the instruments changes the music completely, while really good, this doesn't sound half as amazing as the original
amazing rendition

The Feels
This song freaked me out when i was kid X)
NEED DOWNLOAD!!! This is beautiful! :D
After years of playing Rock Band, all I can see is someone playing this song on their keyboard getting a perfect score.
Really good transcription, but this is just one of those songs best on a guitar.
2:57 to 3:18 is the best part :)
This is beautiful - thanks!
Just tested them, and they both work fine here.
WONDERFUL
would love a link for a mp3 download!

Hey Rinerion, I'm a studying Audio Student with the Art Institute of Seattle and I plan to do my own composition of either this song or the Westmarch theme from Diablo III. I'm curious to know what program this is. Is this Sibelius or Synthesia?
The visual presentation is Synthesia, but the sound is a piano sound library. I believe it was Vienna Grand I used for this,
Thanks so much for the feedback. =^_^=
Was sooooo long time ago T-T
