Myself a Gujjar tribal from mountains of jammu and kashmir, dont know music, but i felt like one of the melodious music ever listened from 24:00 onwards
I don't understand why we can't promote our classical music instead of copying westerns
Look how chinese and many other civilization perserves their music by adding elements of traditional touch in modern songs
We as indian should be ashamed of ourselves
I see even foreigners are amazed on our music

That 16 to 18 minutes duration wow. I used to play that Kaida once. We know Heaven is not on earth but definitely Music is a connector to that space in spiritual world.

What really is the essence of Ustad Zakir Hussain's accompaniment...the ans is beauty. Zakir-ji's tabla is the most beautiful one ever heard. He never tries to rise above the music...the sitar in this case. Other tabla players are always keen to make themselves "heard". With Zakir-ji, its totally the otherway, he melds into the music seamlessly without making an effort to be "heard".

Very well said, the quality of sound, improvisation, rhythm , small small compositions and instant jamming so wonderful. He is blessed by Ma Shwarashwati. Tabla te Sidhhi Labh.I agree this Tabla sound of Zakir has influenced my music and I have all classicals accompanied by Zakir. He has created one bad thing, once you hear Zakir you are never get satisfied with any other accompanist playing.

Pandit Yogesh Samsi, though less popular, is way better than Ustad Zakir Hussain with full respect towards him.
@@gandharjoshi5851 Bhai with due respect to you...even Yogesh Samsi regards Ustad Zakir Hussain as perhaps the greatest tabla player heard in modern times. Technically speaking Yogesh ji is one of the finest tabla players. But his banyan (bass drum) is impact-less. He has very little control over sound modulation, sound production and even the use of ghasit. In sum: Yogesh-ji's banyan work (bass drum) will always prevent him from scaling those great heights.

Vilayat Khan was absolutely romantic artist just listen to his melodic outburst during 30 to 34 minutes during the Jhala the greatest Sitarist of all times
16 to 19 minutes Zakir's Tabla, with a big head phone, just taken me to a different world. Sometimes I think he is just flawless and what an instant composition, these kaida's are there and we have learnt but how beautifully composed, played quality of sound. I am speechless.
What a great treasure left behind by Late Ustad Vilayat Khansahib! We are indebted & extremely lucky for having this on U tube .

the reference shown has translated Aftab-e-sitar as radiant star of sitar, but Afatab means sun, so it should be the Sun of Sitar.
