Just purchased this ladder and followed the video to the letter and got it done inside of a few hours (had to cut the joists and re-brace so took a bit longer than I expected). Great instructional content - thank you!
Just installed one of these and not a bad bit of kit, the generic hieroglyphics are not great but you'll get the idea, video is better, dont presume it will be square out of the box as it isnt, i used some scrap ply to pack it and the multi size plastic shim kits from Toolstation, Screwfix are definately your friend here to get it completely square, check you are happy with the fixing screws by closing the lid and then use expanding foam for all the gaps and make it rock solid. Not sure how effective the single seal will be, winter will highlight that i'm sure and the lid insulation (25mm at best) really isnt going to cut it nowadays. I would have bit the bullett and used Fakros top box and lid that could be insulated properly but have not got the space for a swing lid so i'll make a lightweight box that sits on top and insulate with 100mm Celotex. Not sure about the 8mm max adjustment screws staying put so added a dab of thread lock. Very sturdy ladder in operation with no flex, sweet
Excellent video. Problem is there are no proper fitting instructions with the ladders, just safety instruction with hard to interpret diagrams with nothing in English. Problem with the video on site on a cold day I’ve got no way of looking at a video!
The worst company to deal with! Arrogant and ignorant. Here is a tip: lookup Optistep loft ladders made by the same company but Fakro won't tell you that!
