    Purple urethane has been good even during league. Just important for me to recognize when it’s time to swap and commit to the swap. Normally to a low flare reactive solid - like envy tour

    That's a good point that I never thought about when it came to urethane.. Back in my teens I did have (and still have) my Fab Hammers.. My Blue is a "light" 16lb.. box weight was 15lb 15oz, while my Blue Pearl was 16lb 5oz. I never thought about it in terms of weight versus carry, but looking back at the last time I threw my Fab Blue (about 10 years ago), it still hit hard. I wonder if it would be worth trying to find a heavier 15lb Black Pearl Urethane..

  • @darylw792
    @darylw792 8 месяцев назад

    To this day I still use the old Fab Black and Pink Hammers. To give them flare so they are no longer were effected by carry down I put a Mo Hole balance hole in them to create about a two inch flare. I could stay in the same spot all night during leagues. Now with the no balance hole rule I plugged the holes up but they still have flare and do not create carry down problems. I keep them semi polished and they read a house shot very well.

    So, I have the purple, 16 lbs and love it. A few weeks ago I decided to go with a big solid asymmetric, atlas. Folks say they can be similar. Big solid asylums and urethane. From my experiences, no way Jose. You still have to ply the asylum much further down the lane compared to the urethane. I would love to see you shot a video comparing a high sow solid asylum and urethane to see if you experience the same thing. I think I will get the black hammer and experiment with surfaces. My purple I will not touch.

    I swap from 15-16 during leagues. Why because I don’t have 1000$ to spend on balls I find I pull the 15 from a 16 so I just look a board or two right until I’m square shooting my mark. No big deal. I get more revs with the lighter ball but seems the heavy balls grip more and are slower so they equal out in hook power. But I definitely believe in heavy ball power they just get odd hits better those odd trips . More messengers a few inch further

    What I would like to see from the Brunswick side, seeing that you incorporate Columbia as well, is the original black u-dot. Shot my all time high series with it, 300-267-300/867 back in the short oil days (1987). I hear that the retired AMF lines have been incorporated into Brunswick. Meaning the Cobra could be brought back (call it the nu cobra)AND THE ball old AMF that was fantastic was the Purple Angle. You have said before, you don't clean or resurface your urethane balls, but that 15 lb Black Pearl was deflecting like crazy off the pocket.
    Even after you hit it with 800 it was still deflecting and laboring to get into a roll. There was just too much oil today on the lane today.
    As a long time urethane user I can tell you, for house shots, urethane balls need some defined dry to work.
    Normally in league, if everyone is throwing resin but me, then I will have a great look with urethane because the resin balls are taking oil off the lane, preventing carrydown, or my urethane ball from getting too oil soaked and lubricated. But if multiple people are throwing urethane, a house shot can become a mess very quickly with our urethane balls going longer and longer up the lane before they react. Once that happens even resin balls won't hook. In my experience urethane works best on low to medium volume house shots, but longer, heavier house shots work against urethane unless you can get help from resin players.

    • @brunsnick
      @brunsnick  8 месяцев назад +1

      After drilling differential numbers more important than RGs are. Pin down generally will lower flare and make the hook window longer and slower often giving it more continuation through the pins.
