I can totally see him acting in a movie, like jim carrey or robin williams did before him. He has huge potential and someone can defintely make a movie all around him.
Myself? I'd rather watch someone with humor like this guy then someone throwing knives at their spouse. This is different. We've seen a million times knife throwers and regular stand up comedians. This guy I think is more of a comedian then a magician. I'd rather watch on TV something that's funny & makes me laugh then watching the same old crap with gun shootings & bloody gruesome Violence. Because don't we have enough of real life horror going on in this world? It's high time we incorporate more laughter then all the sadness. So many funerals of children dying from being caught in cross fires of gangs etc. So, even though many don't find this so amusing? Try to think about what our children are growing up with in this world today! Which is extremely sad. To keep coming out with these movies that show sex, drugs, and & so much bloody massacres that are actually very real in life now. Movies now a day's are imitating what's actually going on in our time right now. So good for this man who wants us to have laughter & fun.
People have compared Matt to a number of comedians, but not the one that springs to mind for me. He reminds me of a young Norman Wisdom. Watch a Stitch in Time to see what I mean!
Sorry, but although he's a really happy guy, I wasn't very amused by this routine, and actually found it quite irritating. Very juvenile magic tricks I could do myself. Seriously, it's not the interesting to palm a die or a small rubber ball. In comparison, 8 year old Issy Simpson actually did some really good *adult* level magic tricks. How he made it to the finals is a mystery to me. Much rather see at least 3 other acts that didn't make it than this guy.
Soccerman99 he's a entertainer who makes people laugh rather than a magician who performs a mystery performance, magic is one of those object he use, not the thing he wants to perform. He and Issy is totally different acts and I like both.
Soccerman99 i'm with you. just found this guy really irritating to watch with his slapstick comedy. sorry but didn't find him entertaining at all, certainly not golden buzzer material. not hating on him, that's just my opinion.
Thats totally fine. It is very childish indeed, i like it alot even though i am 29 years old. It is not for everyone. For kids and people who never really totally grow up like me which can be easily entertained this is something we like to watch. As for the magic comparison, he is a comedian he does so much more than Issy. Do not get me wrong i adore her but she is just straight up magic, rehearsed act and execution (audition better than the show btw on show she was visibly nervous and not as good as on audition). What she does at 8 is amazing, but sorry to tell you this, her act is her grandfather not her. He teaches her everything and probably buys her all the expensive stuff she needs to pull it of. Still not to downplay her she is great and she can only improve but thats just what it is. So anyway you cannot really compare Issy with this guy. He does so much more, she is however just starting this is something that people do consider and kids do have advantage for being kids to make it fair and that is completelly fine. I am sorry you did not enoy him, for me it is a blast. Hopefully you like other acts more. Have a nice day!
Soccerman99 He may use the kind of simple magic, but he has his comedy as a cover-up. But I personally think that his semi-final act was much better than his audition. To me, his audition was more of the irritating one. But everyone has different opinions and I'll respect yours 😀
I know it shouldn't matter, but to me personally, I kind of cringed when he kept calling the one die a dice. Especially since he's on BGT, I feel grammar should be even more important

Matt Edwards is just absolutely brilliant.
