I did try to max him. I had lots of trouble but i do believe i am a fairly skilled player and i do genuinely get kills sometimes. But the main reason i didn't lose my mind is because i joined a lobby full off TRASH PLAYERS and unlocked Outerdust. After that, my job got a LOT easier, Outerdust is very good
I went through torture and I didn't want to server hop since that just seemed cheap to me took me several days for outerdust and now I just need enough wins for waterfall dust n stuff since I already got the exp
I think that they should 400 wins servers auto join the high win players but if you join regularly with 100 or 399 wins you will be sent to the normal servers where players around that win count actually can go against each other without fear of losing.
I know it may sound dum but even against a 10k win player if ur sans and u lose that just sucks for u because all they do is dodge and attack and if they use it scythe then get them to second phase and run

i swear, its annoying to do anything in that game because i didnt get enough exp for anything on him before the update, and before that i was already bad at playing him with getting servers where everyone is using dull knife or something, and the problem was that after science sans nerf he was much worse so that meant my only good character was trashed so yeah, i hate ULC right now because it feels unbalanced so i went back to ujd (i have 1100 wins btw) and i find that more fair and fun.
tbh just learn how to predict and bait someone and use force at the right time and dont waste all of ur moves since it has a kinda long cd and very important note NEVER WASTE FIRE ITS THE REASON WHY YOU CAN KILL A PLAYER AND IT TAKES NO STAMINA AWAY (for the new dast players)
It's mid. There ARE some terrible characters AT START, but after getting ups for it, it's getting better. On some characters exp obtaining is hell, but on ruins dust it's kinda ok. I haven't faced any big problems with it, maybe I'm just lucky? I think ruins dust itself is mid, but he does his job to "Get exp so I can be Fell/Outer or Snowdin/WaterFall, maybe all at once" kinda okay
Ruins dust doesn't suck, what it sucks is how the rework of weapons of the Chara team has been buffed the old ones, if you still that Ruins Dust Sucks, ask to the OLD RUIN DUST (was a little decent, a LITTLE).
In my opinion he is strong but you need to smart to play him like using toy kife in close range it is a meela that does 10dmg I think use force and bone zone off of cd to gain back stamina and use gb bone throw and fire to dmg them
just use dustfell or outerdust if you have it… ruins is garbage, atleast you still have bone zone + chains and blasters combo, for outerdust just play a lil smart then u win

Why not go over the general issue with the upgrade system in place and how for a vast majority of the cast, you won't enjoy your time grinding their EXP because they're border-line unplayable against chara team. EX: Papyrus, Littletale, Pacifist, Classic, Negatale, Outer, the list goes on. All of this being a result of poor game design.

I started playing in empty promises and I actually thought ruins dust was pretty dang good when I played him. I don’t know why you say that he’s bad when i only started playing WHEN the chara team weapons were reworked, and even then I thought it was a pretty solid character. I just used base ruins up until murder, which I used until waterfall.

The moveset reason is wild, half of his moveset costs 0 stamina (Knife, fire, and force)
Knife is his weakest move nearly impossible to hit with
Fire new hit box show makes it easy to dodge
Force just pushes the enemy only good in combos
Fireballs use stamina only after attack finishes
Also Knife uses 4 stamina
They should nerf a bit the win count for snowdin dust to 275 wins
