I recall Stephen Fry saying that Emma Thompson was in love with Hugh during their time at school. She said he was the most beautiful man she'd ever seen. I think that was so sweet.

It's quite astonishing how utterly different he looked during different stages of his life so far. Early 20s Hugh was unbelievably a handsome jock-type!
He looked really different during much of Fry and Laurie, Black Adder, Jeeves and Wooster and House respectively... Hell, the difference between House and Night Manager was extreme, and I'm not talking about the toupet!

Right? I have a rare and hideous disease called Trigeminal Neuralgia (aka the "suicide disease"), and had it more than 2 years before I got a diagnosis (16 years ago). I had brain surgery 10 years ago that helped some with the pain level and frequency of attacks, but left me with double-vision and weak eyesight in my right eye and a tendency to run into walls.
TN causes sudden severe pain in the right side of my face (like an electrified, sharp knife). It felt like the worse toothache ever, except it would come and go. I had several root canals and 2 teeth pulled, only to find out it had NOTHING to do with my teeth!
When I watched "House", I always hoped they would have an episode with a TN patient, but I think it's not quite rare enough, and many people would have figured it out too quickly because the symptoms are so bizarre, yet common to those who suffer with it. I can be fine one minute, the next I feel like I've been hit with a taser and crumple to the floor, trying not to scream.
I still think they could have made an interesting episode with that. I think there was a segment about TN on 20/20 once, but most people have never heard about it.

@@erikacallahan2824 Thank you! I'm so sorry you are in pain, I have a sister who has fibromyalgia, likely caused by untreated Lyme disease 30 years ago. Her doctors don't seem to believe her, though. It's frustrating to see her suffer.
I actually had a bit of a "miracle" last May. I got very sick with what turned out to be bacterial meningitis, but I thought I had Covid. When I finally got bloodwork done 2 months later, found I had Acenobacter Baumanii, aka "Iraqibacter" because it's common with injured soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. It's what almost killed journalist Bob Woodruff.
Usually, our immune system fights it off, but I got a load of it because I tripped and fell down a hill, ground dirt into my knees and elbows (this common bacteria lives in desert soil). I'm lucky I was able to recover and it didn't turn into flesh-eating bacteria. One of my baby goats got this years ago and had to be euthanized.
I swear, there's a point to this... I realized the 2nd week I was sick that I had not had any TN attacks. Now 6 months later, I STILL haven't had an attack!
I don't know why, after 18 years of daily misery, it's just gone! I suspect the infection had something to do with it, since it affects the nervous system too, but my doctor didn't think so.
What if it did, though? Maybe a new treatment could be developed from bacteria? I've heard stranger things!
It would make a good story for "House", it was even comical how I got infected, tripping over a baby goat I was frolicking with and taking a head-over-heels tumble down the hillside. I could see that kind of scene in a "House" episode! LOL

It was quite a shock to us Brits when Hugh Laurie became "Sexiest Man". Who? The one from Fry & Laurie and Blackadder? *That* Hugh Laurie - are you sure?!! After knowing only his comedy, which utilised his musical talents at times so we knew that, it really was surprising to see him morph so well into Dr House. With the beard hiding his comically talented chin and his well crafted ultra-Englishman dopey expressions covered with irascibility and sarcasm (that other side to the British personality). But he did make that leap very successfully - just goes to show kids, you never know what's coming up in the future for you!
I still love a bit of Fry & Laurie, and Jeeves & Wooster .... well no one could ever do justice to PG Wodehouse's work better than those two.
