#17 at 2:13:06 is such a bleak, dark, descent into madness. It's the sound of being practically incoherent with rage. Late Liszt went hard. Really hard.
Very moving; beautifully played & understood. Vincenzo here seems to understand the depths of Liszt's personality, sometimes obscured historically by fame, scandals & bravura exploits. Here is both dramatist & monastic intellectual, the grand & tragic Liszt. Thanks to all.
@@deadlysquad13 whilst #12 is not as popular as #2 and #6, it still is a pretty well known rhapsody and often being played in competitions, unlike those other 2 rhapsodies

Notice how the theme at 2:13:47 is repeated at the very end in a bitch ass aggressive manner.
Vincenzo Maltempo! And Liszt! that's a real treasure! Thank you so much, Brilliant Classics!
22:29 - start of his HR2 cadenza.
Don't mind me, just bookmarking this. 😁

An impeccable rendering of these awfully difficult pieces. Technically, emotionally and musically superb. Thanks for posting.
Thank you for listening, we're glad you enjoyed these recordings!
아름다운 피아노 연주곡 잘 들었읍니다~감사합니다~🎵🎹🌿🍀☘🌹🌹☘🍀🌿❤❤
just brillant and power sound
Number one in c sharp minor is very underrated.
Actually, they are all quite underrated. No. 2 and No. 6 have totally grabbed the attention leaving the other rhapsodies in shadow...

I didn't know that John Lennon was a classically trained pianist
John Lennon was taught counterpoint before he joined the Beatles !!!
Fabuloso, grande Liszt!
PS:O nome do cara é Mautempo kkkkkkk deve nevar o ano inteiro na cidade natal dele
Gracias

Köszönöm szépen.
What’s so magical and powerful about those chords at 1:05:35 and the section at 57:29?
