#8bitdo Наука
I bought this controller. Not because I needed it but because I wanted to encourage the implementation of Gulikit's stick sensors in controllers.
Same here lol
How is it now?
@@swegga4530 Well, it's one of my seven controllers, so I don't use it every day. But it still works as expected! No stick drift! It gets an easy recommend from me.
so how its been until now?
@@stevensv4864As advertised: still completely drift-free! 😁
I forgot to clarify, I don't see something like the ASTRO C40 or the Gulikit controllers as being the first "Anti-stick drift pro controllers." Swappable thumbsticks are not a fix in my opinion, and the King Kong controllers, while great, don't have buttons on the bottom so I don't consider them pro controllers in the competitive sense. I've said this before but I neglected to bring it up this time my mistake!
I use the purple mid rise galaxy on my white 8bitdo so that was a little surreal initially lol however, it's been a while, I only ever use the Gamesir G7 now. (also with a purple mid rise galaxy mind)
..Gamesir G7
...............GAMESIR G7!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES.
Come on man you're way behind LOL ;P
OK jesting aside, 8bitdo do (lol) so much right, but once I used the Gamesir G7 there was no way back. If the Gamesir G7 had hall effect sticks, and trigger stops, that's an endgame controller right there, mostly.
brooo when will u do a steam controller review
Why can’t we simply get replacement Hall effect gimbals (sticks) for Xbox controllers?
You also forgot to say that the backbuttons are not extra buttons on software or driver level, so they cant do a different extra action in-game that you don't already have asigned to an existing button like A, B or RT. What I mean is that those buttons are not recognized as an L3 or R3 in driver level in any circumstance so they are just extra buttons that can't do anything in the case you want an extra action
@@lenh8612 Hall effect sticks require more precise voltages so the PCB itself needs some changes as well. Some people have successfully made Frankenstein modifications to swap out regular potentiometer sticks but it's not for the faint of heart, simply swapping the sticks out is not possible unless it's a Joy-Con stick or something like the sticks they made specifically for the Steam Deck, which comes with its own mini PCB to handle all the conversions (which is why the Steam Deck Gulikit stick is extra pricey).
This controller is awesome. The thumb sticks, however, were rubbing against the edges of their insert, causing some unnecessary wear, so I bought some inexpensive silicone protectors and reduced the max stick range to 98%. Works flawlessly. Heavy, heavy usage, but haven't experienced any drift yet.
I forgot to mention this! The sticks wear down and produce this grainy powder bs lol. It reminds me of extremerate thumbsticks
It’s always SOMETHING they overlook
if i end up using some kf precision rings (for stiffer tension) do you think it will accomplish the same effect of protecting the stem of the stick from wear?
@@LUCKIPUP I think they would. And if you wanna check out the OG’s of thumbstick rings check out AAA shocks
What are these protectors called?
I have had the 8BitDo Ultimate for 3 months and have zero issues whatsoever with stick drift or connectivity. I use the charge dock as 2.4ghz wireless connection on my PC and it INSTANTLY connects in literally 2 seconds every single time without fail, and makes a satisfying rumble when it connects... D-Pad is great (I've heard that is 8BitDo's specialty apparently). I got some Skull n Co universal thumbstick grips which work fine, and as in this video was able to barely pop my Xbox KontrolFreek thumbsticks onto this controller. If it came with interchangeable stick lengths and thumb covers it would be near perfect. Highly Recommend.
Skull & Co.'s XBOX Series X and XBOX One Joystick Caps are a pretty good fit and definitely good quality rubber
hello i’m deaf 🧏🏻♂️ what’s the update on your ultimate controller and skull thumbsticks? i plan to upgrade 1 TB series s on sept.
Whoever brings out the first pro controller with 4 paddle and hall sensor triggers and sticks is going to dominate the market, most likely. I know I'd buy two if they made such a controller.
Yea, I love the elite 2, because of the paddles. But the quality issues are annoying and a scam.
I'm waiting for Elite 3 to see if they improve. My other hope is Steam, with a new Steam Controller.
not if they are sold for $180+
It doesn't use paddles, but flydigi Vader 3 is basically that
I never understood the idea of 4 paddles on the back, its redundant, I guess the only use would be for macro. There only two buttons you press at all time anyway when using both joysticks and fighting games you never use the right side joystick anyway.
Just drives up the cost even more
@@SMGJohn You bind all 4 face buttons to the 4 back buttons.
Your thumb would never have to leave the thumstick when playing shooters, for an example..
I've been thinking of getting this controller. Always love your reviews and comedy. Keep it up
Had me loling as usual! Excited for the Gamesir review!
wow this video is brilliant, a comprehensive review for the 8bitdo ultimate while still being highly entertaining. kudos
Thanks, vCuda. Dat editing doe.. sheeeshhh
Looking forward to the Dualsense.
glad to see you are back.
I may have finally gotten my act together as well! Lol
I really miss the days of the PS2, same controllers for 22 years, 0 issues. My SNES controllers after 29 years old and work just fine.
Nice to see the controller scanning thingy you mentioned in action. Pristine video as always 👍
Man,keep these vids coming lol great review.
Editing been a step up lately, cool to see more of these types of sticks as well.
Thanks man! I've been using RunwayML Ai to step up post production and this was kinda like a rough draft. Glad you like it!
another hilarious and informative video at the same time. thank you for being REAL!
Love the content and your presentations. Keep it up, looking forward to more as you can get them.
Class! Never change, my man!
3:58 First video of yours I have seen.... You are getting another subscriber
Dude, this is my first time watching your channel. you are funny as hell.
The realest controller reviewer out there
This channel deserves infinite subscribers - relentless peak content well done
I bought this controller based off of your review back in February 8 months ago. Absolutely love it!!
Pros and cons: cons first, no trigger stops, only has 2 back paddles wish it had 4, wish I had extra buttons to map to keybinds, wish it had built in audio jack. Pros: still running 1% deadzones in November, aim still feels perfect and precise. Charging cradle is really sleek and functional. I remapped ads and fire to front bumpers, best decision ever for FPS games. I can highly recommend this controller for fast paced FPS pc gaming. I have an Xbox KontrolFreak on my right stick for precise aiming and it fits very snugly, never ever has it came off, it’s a little difficult to remove.
Normally I prefer channels whose videos stick to the script and are to the point, explain stuff thoroughly and don't engage in random quirky BS. Except that yours is hilarious and well done, and I love it.
Love your videos bro keep up the great work
that was quite a trip of a controller review
You’re awesome, subbed!!
Your video is the first to start with magnetic hall effect, great job.
Great video! First time viewer, but this was an automatic subscribe just from the dark comedy alone! Plus it’s very informative. I was planning to get the Gulikit King Kong Pro 2 controller soon but is there a way to use this natively on Xbox without the Brook Wingman 2 adapter yet?
Great video dude!
Looks cool 🤩
03:48 needed to rewatch this over and over, damn hilarous!
I’m a simple man. I see Cuda upload, I click the like button 💙
Me 2
I’m a simple man when I see your mom my di Ck goes up
Cheers good video dude.
I absolutely love my ultimate controller
I bought it about 6 or 7 months ago and its been pretty much the only controller ive used ever since (except for 2d platformers and i use the SN30 pro for that)
Solid video as always, for real though you should do other reviews.
I love the videos man 😂😂
Great review
You can use it in bluetooth mode on PC with gyro. After you sync it, turn the controller off then on again and it works. I did a video on it
we have the same thumbstick extender. BIG W
Finally you release a videooooooooooooo
Nice video brother
Unrelated, but the jokes are tighter/more solid than usual. Still edgy for my taste, but the growth is cool to see!
Glad you enjoyed them! I went a little crazy in this video, I don't plan to be this wild in my Dualsense Edge review lol
Glad your back. Also can you use this controller wired.
The holy grail of all controllers
5:15 when you be talking shit to yourself lmaoo I felt that
Thanks for your vid about this controller. Is this controller the one to buy for pc gaming?
I'm really leaning towards buying the 8BitDo for optimal pc gaming. But the 8BitDo sometimes looses the comparison with the Gulikit's KK2P, depening on where you look.
When googling 'the best controller for pc', the Series X controller still comes out higher recommended and is said to have a better rumble, also in the triggers (which the other ones have not) and a sort of haptic feedback. This is a big plus.
But the no friction sticks and the quick snap triggers of the Gulikit's, as well as the software (read: trigger settings) and the back-buttons of the 8BitDo and the no-deadzone hall sensors of both, are also real big plusses. So i'm breaking my brain over these controllers.
Uh, you can use Switch mode on PC through the 2.4ghz dongle. If I'm not mistaken, you have to hold Select + Y, and it will switch to Switch mode (no need to change to Bluetooth in the back). I even tested it out with emulators, not only do they instantly recognize the controller as a Switch Pro (so no need to set up the button inputs), but the gyro works as well. I don't remember which button combination is used to go back to XInput, but its all in the manual. Also, I think you have to update its firmware first to avoid some weird conection issues.
Sega does what everyone else don’t, the Dreamcast controller and the Saturn 3d controller both used magnetic sensors in their sticks, with all the attention stick drift is getting and everyone using shitty potentiometer sticks from alps alpine, you’d think there’d be a huge market for the Hall effect sticks, hope gulikit looks at the situation and starts offering replacement sticks for other controllers
1:59 bro you caught me there HAHAHAHAHAHHAHA
Holy crap this guy channel is funny as heck
Fox body mustang design had me fuckin crying 😂. You're amazing dude
well shiet Cuda now i gotta buy this controller you got me hyped
2:12 I just got this controller, and I am not able to use the 2.4G Reciever or Bluetooth at all on my laptop. (Laptop has 2.4G network bandwidth, btw, and it shouldn't give me any interference) The second I try to pair the controller with the USB inserted it makes my internet go out for no reason. i tried to pair it with Bluetooth mode and it destroyed the internet without it even recognizing the bluetooth device on my laptop.
I am in need of serious help with this and I have already tried to contact 8BitDo, but all they have said so far was is to use the Pairing software, which only works half and half (either controller is paired or the 2.4G USB is paired) before it completely freezing my laptop as soon as I try and close out of the software, forcing me to reboot my laptop manually.
Thank you♥️♥️
As someone who now has an 8bitdo ultimate Bluetooth controller and has used it to it's "wear in" period. the uh, only thing that isn't loose are the triggers. The dpad top part moves like 5 millimeters each direction, the joystick springs are rather loose, the abxy buttons also have a little wiggle. the back buttons are in my opinion a little too easy to push, it took a bit before I could press them lightly enough. while in use however, these little visual oddities aren't noticeable in games. basically it isn't enough of a hindrance to impact gameplay.
I probably have a couple hundred hours on the controller, since I play games a lot.
Still?
@@TJzWayyyep, and my right joystick has developed some stick drift, which shouldn't really be happening, and the whole range of positions for every axis on both joysticks has shifted, so I had to adjust my dead zones to get full input.
Came for the controller review, stayed for the personality and the lack of a filter. Kinda refreshing
Same way he got me
YOOoO glad the gamesir g7 is getting that review
Thanks stil waiting for 1ms controller, 4 good back buttons, accuracy stick and trigger stop...
Ive had this controller since the beginning of December and I have used it non-stop since then. I do not mind the dpad, and I think its better than a lot of mushy dpads you can get from other controllers. I ran the no deadzone option for a while but had to increase my deadzone to 1% because of stick drift, and haven't had to change it since (1% deadzone is still amazing). I have noticed that if you press the bumpers with a little too much side force (as in not perfectly opposite to how the button travels) that they can seem to have a TON more resistance. its not something that happens often but when it does its slightly annoying, but being aware of it has pretty much allowed me to avoid having it happen mid session. The only final complaint that I have is that occasionally the controller will take 2-3 minutes to connect to the 2.4ghz dongle. Once it is connected i have no issues. Oh and I have had the double clicking issue occasionally but only in one specific game. I wasnt sure if this controller would fit any of the standard controller kontrol freeks so I got some universal thumbstick risers and I've had no problems with them. Best controller Ive used and Id buy it again
I already have stickdrif / stick wiggle. RIP.
@@Empty12345 same
My 2.4 ghz dock connects literally within 2-3 seconds everytime without fail. Might be an issue on your end. I have had zero stick drift whatsoever. Surprised anyone is getting drift since these are hall effect sticks.
@@Empty12345 some people it happens when you’re low on battery. how about yours, any update?
@@fatih372 I realized that the correct term for my issue was JOYSTICK WIGGLE. 🤔
Hall effect joysticks prevent stick drift caused by the metal contacts wearing down, but not stick wiggle aka loose joystick.
The battery wasn't the cause for me... 🤷♂️
More in depth:
(When the metal parts inside the joystick module wear out and even if the joystick is physically at centered position, it drifts in the game)
(My issue was that the joystick itself was wiggly and loose. The spring or something similar started to wear)
(My guess would be because I play alot of Rocket League (alot of left stick spinning) that the joysticks "shaft" part gets scraped by the inner ring of the controller.
It makes plastic dust which goes under the joystick and starts creaking and making noise (which it did) & eventually causing it to go loose & wiggle. Maybe a controller accent ring / anti-friction ring would fix this problem?)
If someone read this, cheers! 😁✌️
rofl lmao your jokes are amazing, 10/10 subbed, also great in-depth review, thanks
I have the wired version for series x , been beating the hell out of it for months , still works like new and super responsive . Recommend over power A all day .
Does the wired version have the same sticks as the one in this review?
That Mark section got me 😂
It's the (almost) same review for the wired version dude? Nice video btw
I bought an 8bitdo pro switch controller based on your review and it randomly will turn left slower then normal. It is very frustrating and gets resolved after reconnecting. I hope the hal effect sticks catch on cause that feature is nice. I hate the triggers though. I am used to having trigger stops and these feel like they just sink in forever. I think I share your anger in that there is no clear best controller. They are all bad in their own ways and I can't find one I love for Apex. I wish I knew what your current most recommended controller was, like a regular top 3 or something.
in order to pair in bluetooth mode in pc was to press the sync button while the controller is on and then shake it to get it into pairing mode.
I use mine with my steam deck - maybe a firmware update fixed that issue. And I confirmed just now you can pair with BT on PC - shows up as a switch pro controller.
steam skateboard
does gyro work
The roundness is deliberate. Not sure why but the majority of controllers have a deliberate zone in a certain amount of degrees that the X and Y can be maxed out.
Your videos crack me up! This controller looks cool, does it work with Xbox at all?
😂
The squareness and stiffness of sticks/triggers made me return the controller, which is sad because everything about it is excellent, but the pain kinda ruined my gaming experience. If you don't have these issues this controller is a no brainer pick.
Nice - waiting on the dualsense edge review (i just bought that shit) - but gonna pick up this 8bitdo badboy just in case i decide not to keep the edge
dude your editing is some devine tier mix of shit-posting and cinimatogrophy. fucking nailed it.
never change.
I have an 8 bit do pro 2 and was looking to get some more for the house. Would you recommend those over this?
King kong dropped the ball hard on the lack of back buttons. I would give them my money in a heartbeat if they had them.
Ayo funny guy, I enjoyed your review.
I don't even care about the controllers tbh, these videos are fire 100/100
Dude i literally just watch your videos cuz your fucking hilarious lol thx i might get this one when i can unless a new version comes out
Cant believe Google didnt automatically sub me to Cuda on my new account.
But seriously, dude, your videos keep getting better in every regard and Id absolutely fight you if I reviewed controllers. But only cause I think youd be a fun ass whoopin'. Not cause you arent the absolute king of this shit. Keep it up, homie!
I wonder what the odds are that there will be hall effect joystick modules for the dualsense edge.
nice work bro...ps5 pro controller? and razer new controller? i don't know what buy....i play fps on apex legends...i know razer have problem with built in deadzone....it's fixable? because i wanna try have a lot of buttons...i'm tired to play double claw....for my hands is to difficult and heavy(sport has ruined my fingers)....keep up your wonderful work
The comedy in here on this video made my fucking day oh, when you turned back around and called yourself a bitch I felt like I died and went to heaven God bless
The comedy alone is the reason why not only am I buying but I'm using your link
The one thing I would love to see from anyone reviewing this controller is testing it on Android. I need to know how well it works.
I bought this and it lasted a week befor the right stick would move on it own . Something to do with the voltage values in the stick musta been faulty I'm not sure I sent it back and got a core 2 elite and haven't had any issues yet w drift 2 months running fingers crossed.
Do you have a review on the afterglow wave? I'm wondering if it's a more reliable alternative to the powerA spectra enhanced. Considering they are about the same price and just simply similar in general.
Would like to know if the controller would work on the Brooks wingman converter for Xbox series X|S. Thanks in advance.
3:57 this made me laugh at 5 am in the morning
I've been using this controller for about 2 months, laying it upside down, throwing it in my bag, literally slept on it one night. No stick drift.
It would be cool to see an overview of the sonicon plus, it has hall effect sensors as well but I haven't seen much feedback on it at all.
New subscriber please reply : where did you get the thumb stick? I have been looking for this like crazy 😢
Hi bro. Would liked to have heard a bit more on the controller and a bit less about the system - do a separate video on the system 👌🏼 i'd still watch it. But I'd have liked to have heard in a bit more depth your thoughts, and also how this controller compares to others in a similar budget etc
The timing of this upload was so perfect, I decided that I am going to buy a controller for my Switch just 1 hour ago and this is the controller that I want to buy.
The video is hilarious as usual.
vCuda videos are always worth watching for the funny moments.
Hey brother i really enjoy your content!! Is there a way for someone to ask you a question or a recommendation for something you haven’t covered yet??
Just wondering are you planning on getting the Dualsense Edge and Reviewing it?
Not get paid, but still put effort to add subtitle for non-native English viewer like me, nice play brother
Your reviews are good but you are hilarious
I love this controller for gaming in Linux with the 2.4ghz dock passthrough for the dongle. I bought it a few weeks ago and it's the best controller I've found for gaming in Linux with Steam/Proton. Very sturdy feeling and the rumble works perfect. I've been using it to play Octopath Traveler 2 and it's very responsive. I love how when I remove it from the dock, it's ready to go,
This ought to get the praise it deserves. I want one for Xbox
Great review! Do you know if the wired one uses the same sticks?
They do not. It's only the ultimate Bluetooth that have the magnetic sticks.
Yea Mark, What he said!
No anti-friction rings for the thumb sticks is unfortunate though. Be nice if it also shared the hall effect triggers with the Pro 2 as well.
Cut a thin strip of kapton tape and make a couple of wraps around the stick shaft.
Been doing it for years and it works beautifully.
Is there a way to swap normal sticks to the hall fx sticks on controlers like the wolverine v2 chroma or any other pro controlers?
