  • Συντονισμός: Ένα τέλειο πείραμα. Το πλάτος ταλάντωσης μεγιστοποιείται όταν η συχνότητα του διεγέρτη γίνει ίση με την ιδιοσυχνότητα του συστήματος. Κάθε ένα από τα "κτίρια" της πειραματικής διάταξης έχει συγκεκριμένη ιδιοσυχνότητα, διαφορετική από την ιδιοσυχνότητα των άλλων κτιρίων. Όταν η συχνότητα που επιβάλλει ο διεγέρτης γίνει ίση με την ιδιοσυχνότητα του κτιρίου, το κτίριο ταλαντώνεται με μέγιστο πλάτος ταλάντωσης. Στο πείραμα μεταβάλλουμε τη συχνότητα του διεγέρτη σταδιακά και παρατηρούμε ότι κάθε ένα από τα κτίρια συντονίζεται (=ταλαντώνεται με μέγιστο πλάτος) σε διαφορετική συχνότητα.

    every single object has its own unique natural frequency of vibration when acted upon or influence by an external force vibration...destructive phenomenon of resonance occurs when the this natural frequency is equal between the two.

    How can one look at this experiment and say that Nikola Tesla was false when he claimed to have vibrated his tower apartment with a small oscillator?

      because that's a big oscillator.

      Remember that construction was probably not at the highest standards on old East coast buildings. A 6+ mag earthquake today would likely turn much of NYC into a pile of bricks. I've been in houses that we could oscillate just from leaning our bodies back and forth. I trust Nikola could do it to an old building with a 5 lb(I forget his exact weight) weight on an oscillatimg machine mounted on the steel girder (as reported).

      Harmonic resonance is a cool thing.
      Instead of force you can also use the right sound waves to accomplish the same thing.
      Sound can also levitate things using standing waves.
      The world of frequencies that Tesla envisioned is why we have what we have. Best inventor ever!

    this is why in Oklahoma city, most all buildings are not tall, except for the very newest construction with anti vibration built in to the supports well below the ground

    Wow, does that mean that lower frequency affect longer wave while higher frequency affect shorter wave? Does this mean a super long building will be undisturbed in high frequency earthquake?

      Jack Balitok. A taller, thinner building would require lower vibration than a short, fat one.

      I think the waves generated by an earthquake will tend to have various frequencies instead of a single one as (perfectly, indeed) shown in this experiment. So, you might consider that various building sizes will resonate with the earthquake's waves.

      low frequency vibration are what quakes send out, so tall building are very susceptible to those waves

    I'm a 10th standard student ....and believe me ....school will NEVER let us do these cool stuffs ....all we have to do is to measure the god damn resistance of a resistor thats it ....that's all the physics for us

      Impeadance is only for AC circuit
      Impedance =resistance +recatance
      Resistance affects voltage value
      Reactance affect phase value
