Thank you very much. I was desperate for this information! Also, one thing to add: Certain zoom-in percentages may also make jagged lines appear. For me, it is 33.33%.
I use smoothing 95% of the time I need slower pen work, I'm disabled and my hands shake and twitch about under fine motor control and its even more noticeable using a stylus, Years ago when I tried drawing digitally there was nothing that could help me but now nearly every bit of software has some form of stabilisation. Both Photoshop and Sketchbook have the best implementations I've seen.
I knew about all that stuff (mostly the resolution is what frustrate me the most whenever I work on digital art), but I still enjoyed watching the video. Thanks ^3^
Thanks for such an amazing video. So i am on a budget and i want to buy a tablet. I am a newbie to digital art honestly. I was wondering if Huion is a good choice. The pressure is around 8.7k i think. What do you think?
Hello! planning to buy my first tablet! Do you think an intous pro gen. 2 is good enough for starting? Going to use it for at least 1 year (most likely much more.) Thanks!
Hello, does resolution actually have an effect on the lines, if you're already working on a large image? Lets say, 5000x5000 px (72 PPI) vs same size and (300 PPI)? Often it's said that the resolution then only effects if youre going to print the image, not how it behaves in the application.
2:41...But PNG has no loss compressing which means that image saved in PNG format is equal to BMP version of that image. In short words - PNG is a compressed version of BMP but all data is saved after the compression.
Very helpful! Do you happen to have any suggestions for smoothing out lines in freestyle drawing? I use Paint Shop Pro 8 (a tad antiquated, I know) but can't seem to locate a tool able to perform that task. I don't want a perfect ellipse or circle or I'd just use that tool. More like something to come along, after the fact to touch it up for a flawless finish.
See "Smoothing" or "Stabilization" near the end of the video. Aside from that, you could try drawing freehand in Adobe Illustrator or another vector art application. That would let you manipulate the lines after drawing them.
Is there any solution that we can arrange the pixel of a hand drawn image. whenever we scan the document and make a digital by any sort of a platform we have to arrange the pixel one by one, is there any other solution for this problem , please help
I got Vectornator to stop my jagged lines...thinking that do my art in vector would change that...but when I outline...the lines don’t exactly where I drew them? They wiggle? What am I doing wrong? What can I do about it...I use an iPad with an Apple Pencil. I have been using procreate and I love it except for the pixeled look of my outline
I've been using Illustrator,no problem. Now i'm trying P.S. and i seen the pixelation but the tutorial i'm following on P.S. seems to have smooth lines, what gives?
2 things please!! First, how do I use eraser on purpose rather than by accident? When I was trying to erase on an image that I had saved, it was laying down blue lines and I could not figure out how to make it erase instead. Second, do you have really step-by-step small tutorials for those extremely new to Wacom (I have essentials 6)? Your 1 hour post was too long to understand well. I need something that is like "this tool does this, this, and this." Thank you!!!
IMHO, paint tool sai has better stabilization than PS, and in general feels much better when doing the line art. Maybe I just haven't found the right settings with PS, but it's never felt as good as PST when doing line art. Also, the program is very cheap compared to PS, and is worth having in any artist's arsenal. PS is typically better for coloring though (unless you're just doing flat colors). It also has the ability to access 16-32 bit colors (though 16 is the max you'd likely use as a digital artist), as well as an insane variety of color profiles. One more thing to note, you don't need an expensive big name tablet in order to do well. It's fine if you're a professional and make money from your artistry, but if you're low on money and want a good 15-16+ inch tablet, deff don't go Wacom. They're still 900ish for a 16 inch.. The total upgrade to my tablet is currently being sold for cheaper than my tablet at 530ish (Canadian).
I have a strange problem with my (new) Wacom Cintiq 22HD: When I draw something in Photoshop CS6, at the beginning for a few minutes de lines are smoothand nice, then suddenly they become wobbely. If I close Photoshop and open it again, it's the same procedure: first smooth, then wobbley... Could it be a perfomance problem? I don't know what to do...
@@zenasparrow9668 Yes, it really was a performance problem! I bought 2020 after a long time a new pc with the newest components and this issue was gone. 🤷♀
Hmm. None of this works for me. I've done it all: I probably just need a new tablet. I currently draw on a 1st Generation Surface Book. I got the model with 1TB of storage. I wonder what I could be doing wrong...
i have a question. when i try to draw curved lines on my tablet the pen freezes in one spot for a second and then draws the line, but it leaves a straight line behind the curved line, please help. QwQ
I dont think that getting a wacom solve the problem, I use a wacom cintiq pro 13, and this problem happens always that I try to use a thin line, or I draw slowly, honestly I just gave up
If Im being honest with myself I know my 10+ year old wacom bamboo connect is crap, but I really don't want to commit to a £200 tablet rn just cos my line art is wonky D:
I have a tablet with 8 THOUSAND levels and I hate so much. There's no reason why any human being would want their brush strokes to vary orders of magnitudes. Who needs to sketch with a size 6 brush and a size 600 brush and all values in between from stroke to stroke?
Only thing I didnt like about the video was the "just get a wacom" first not everyone can get one and there are other great tablets that are just as good. But otherwise great tips
@@aaronrutten I know but that just isn't true. There is thousands of videos of people drawing with non Wacom tablets where the videos looks just the same. There is no problem with liking one brand over the other but talking like it's the one surpirior brand and talking badly about the others when there is a few other brands that are as good isn't right.

BMP and PNG have more differences than that. PNG supports transparency whereas BMP does not.
