Yup. I planned on needing to clean everything thoroughly after the job anyway, but a little more cover could have helped.

Russ (or anyone else that has completed this) - I'm finally going after the Y Axis extension. On my G0704, there is 3 1/2" of stock on the front of the bed. The solid part (that the Y axis motor mounts to) is 1" thick, so I was thinking I could remove almost 2 1/2" of stock and go right up to the solid point. This would give me another ~2 1/2" of travel by my calculations. Before I dive it, I wanted to see if there is any reason not to take that much out. I've seen people take anywhere from 1.25 - 1.75" of material out.

@rus, are you going to put the stepper mounts on grabcad?

What about springs to lift the cover out of the way as it retracts?

+NuttyforNissan I've been thinking the same thing :)

I'm thinking about doing a cnc conversion on my mill but I don't know how I tried looking for a conversion video on your channel as I find you the easiest to understand but, the only ones I found were for the lathe any recommendations?

I have a playlist for my CNC mill conversion, which you should be able to find by visiting my channel main page. What type of mill do you have?

russtuff thanks, I have a warco super major mill similar to grizzly, etc.. But local to uk

I've been trying to get an early evening set aside for another live stream, but things are a bit hectic. I'll see if I can pull it off later this week.

Some of them use LCD screen and others have 7 segment LEDs. Other than this and additional components for different ratings they are the same... I have the one with LCD screens which is not as durable as the 7 segment LED ones. Flatulance after two consecutive taco bell visits in a day would interfere the zebra strips used in the LCD screen! (from experience ;))

    Hello russtuff,
Not sure why your power supply current output drop to 0 after 10 minute. Maybe temperature protection kicks in?
May I know how did you set constant current for your bench power supply?
Normally I'll do something like this:
    1. Make sure + and - terminal not shorted. Turn voltage and current knob to its lowest
    2. Power On PSU
    3. Set Voltage value
    4. Power Off PSU
    5. Short + and - terminal. Need suitable shorting medium depends on what voltage and current you need.
    6. Power On PSU
    7. Ignore voltage value on the display. Set current value.
    8. Power Off PSU. Unshort the + and - terminal.
    9. Connect to your load and you're ready to go.

Wow I missed your comment. Yes I was setting the constant current mode incorrectly. More info to come in that realm in the coming weeks (i've been super busy lately).
      Thanks for watching!

I used a treadmill belt for the back of my bridgeport. Works well, but chips do stick. Easy to get for free if you find a treadmill on the side of the road.
