Hi, Sleepwalk is one of the best known steel guitar classics. You have to play it as well as you have to play "Steel Guitar Rag". Please enjoy and comment. Mahalo nui loa Joerg
Thank you all so much! In in last years I have not played the steel guitars very often but they are still with me. And still love them. Hope there will be time in the future to play more and finally come back to create some more videos. I really appreciate all of you taking the time to write your comments! Mahalo nur loa
My brother loved this song. He named his car Sleepwalk, back in the day when you'd paint the name of your car on the back fenders. This takes me way back to some sweet memories of my brother Eddie...rest in peace 💕
Hyunii - quite right. The only thing that never changes is the miserable old idiots who say the young folk are rubbish. My dad said it, my granddad said it, and people my age say it. There will be people in the generation who say it when they get old. In the meantime, the rest of us get to have fun.
@@migueberg43 - I thank you for your kind words. I have an extensive record collection, and enjoy playing them and listening to the music of my parents youth and of my youth. I have this song (the original by Santo and Johnny) in the stack, most of which are cataloged and arranged by the year that they came out.
I first heard this when I was nine or ten. It has been rolling around in my mind ever since. At seventy two, I still love it. I am so glad people are still enjoying it.
A set piece that can only be played completely from the heart, or not at all. Lovely sound wanted it to go on for much longer. Thank you so much for uploading.
Thank you. We all seem to forget these timeless songs like this one here. Makes me want to do the things that I've always wanted to do without the stress of the modern days.
I remember getting out of service walking the beach in CA listening to this! Such relaxing memories. Just to bad these kids today don't know or appreciate this type of music or even know how to write this type. I guess we had our own ways and they have their ways. Peace & love to all!
My grandfather has passed away 3 days ago after suffering for months but god has answered our prayers and he can now Rest In Piece. We Love You, Andres. Rest Well. This song just makes me remember how much i should appreciate what i have and we don’t realize how much we love something before it’s gone..
Awesome job;this was music the way it should be done;not that computer CRAP!!nothing to me is more beautiful music than steel guitar music.we need young people to learn to play it so it won't be a dying art form.Thank You for bringing back memories of real music and for keeping it alive.
Unbelievable!!! Beautifully done and performed with a very complicated instrument which made the sound perfect! Enjoyed so very much, he made my day, so to say.
This is the closest rendition of Santo & Johnny’s Sleepwalk” I’ve ever heard. I’m there, right now, on American Bandstand, when I saw them do it way back when. Bravo, Maestro, BRAVO!

Just beautiful music and extremely well plaid. Listening to you playing this song takes me back to a simpler time with much innocence and friendship, not like today's goings-on.
Thank you for sharing your fabulous talent. This raw talent of playing an actual instrument has gone by the wayside... All you hear today is computer geeks thinking they are musicians. The only KEY they can hit is the Enter Key lol...Truly remarkable my friend. God bless
i picture myself 10 years from now. beach house, with my dogs, rich and single, listening to this song. i’m looking at the horizon and able to say that i’ve made it. see yall in 10 years!
One of my all time favorited.Used to slow dance to this " cheek to cheek". This is the kind of music I want at my funeral. Music that makes me feel good.Telstar,Lonely Bull,Wipeout,Sleepwalk,Walk Don't Run.Throw in some Lettermen and Mammas and Pappas and I could die happy. Those were the times when music was music..not a bunch of noise and filth.

THANK YOU for posting this lovely piece! I used to listen to WFLI, which was the strongest AM radio station in the area, 50,000 watts(of Chattanooga, Tn.), & Tommy Jett was the Disk Jockey. His THEME-SONG was "Sleep-Walk", by Santo & Johnny. I was just a junior high kid, but I loved that song, over & above ALL others! Thanks again for doing THAT song!
Ohhhhhhhhh myyyyyyyyyyyyy.......how beautiful......gave me instant chills!!! You are fabulous.......my father used to play this on his steel guitar......brought back an instant flood of awesome memories!!! Thank you and keep playing, please!!! God bless you!! WOW!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful! haven't heard that song in a long time. Beautifully played. I could watch this video over and over. I'm currently having a lap steel built for me because I've been really getting into country music lately and recording some country songs, so I'm really looking forward to learning how to play this beautiful instrument.
@MrGert1960 Thanks for the comment, Mr Gert. Old Fender steel guitar are also very special to me. Meanwhile I was able to collect some of those great pieces of steel guitar history. Sleepwalk was originally played on a Fender Custom T8, so the choice was easy for me.
11 years later and there are still people here enjoying and loving this video

I always associate this song as the last one played at the Labor Day, end of summer dance. This is back in the 1960s and early 70s.
