Thanks Meg! That was brilliant, really enjoyed your video! Love, love, love your edition of Anne of Avonlea, what a treasure!! And all the Anthony Trollope too! Hi to Twitch!! 🐱 I have never read Monica Ferris, so I will search her books out at the library.. I received Edith Wharton's ghost stories for a birthday present about two years ago, so I will try to read that one (especially Afterward) next Halloween... Thanks Meg.. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas!! Hope you have fun!! 📚🎄❤💚

I figured Northanger Abbey is your favorite Austen novel. Much most gothic than her others. Definitely like your top beautiful book covers and their illustrations ☺️. They don’t make them like that anymore. Too expensive now but definitely showed off craftsmanship of the day.

I absolutely love those old books!! They are treasures. I read A Christmas Carol a few days ago (on your strong recommendation, thank you!) and it was great! My first Charles Dickens and I will be reading more of his work.
I hope you and your family have a great Christmas!!

Wishing you a wonderful (if humid!) Christmas and a happy New Year! Did your church have Christmas Eve services? My church is pretty small so we only have the CE service, but the choir is wonderful and the candlelit environment is so dreamy! Hope yours is beautiful as well. I agree with you about beautiful journals! I always felt obligated to write something really meaningful in there, and who needs that pressure?! I save the 😅 pretty journals for my reading records 📖📚!

@@PicklesFiona Pickles! Yes, my church has beautiful services, but Hubby fell asleep before the 8pm one, so we didn’t go this year. I agree with you about the journal and I have found as I get older, I never really have anything meaningful to say 😂

Weather watching is a glorious thing. Ah, I love all three Brontë sisters. It is a lovely journal. Twitch is such a great name for a cat - love it. I love beautiful book design, the book as highly desirable cultural artefact, It is one of the greatest joys of my life. I really struggle with Victorian chunkers, I need to be more brave, and get into them, but I am so drawn to compression. Must search out some Monica Ferris, sounds fun. I'd really like to track down a copy of Edith Wharton's ghost stories, they really do sound fun. Hope you've had a wonderful Christmas with family, church & friends.

For Christmas my Husband got me a fancy book stamp from a Jane Austen shop, saying, 'this book belongs to' with pretty flowers and a cameo at the top. I am going to stamp all my favourite books, I've realised that (mostly) their value is only to me, so if I stamp them they increase in value! (Though I have told them that they have got to keep my Malcolm Saville books because they are worth something. I might add the haunting bit just to encourage them to!)

Hi Meg, so appreciate the tag! I'll save it for next year 😉 What a precious copy of Anne of Avonlea - I have a Jack London's book from 1928 and I am so proud of having found that edition in a used bookstore... That journal is so pretty, looks like a Van Gogh painting, is it? Happy Holidays and happy reading Meg!
