Great points North! 👍🏻Go to those folks who have the skills to learn the skills, It's a constant learning process and we can't forget that. Thanks for sharing.
Where I live we have OLD Fort William and down the Highway Pioneer Village. Outlaying townships have many museums to visit also. Remember that seniors have knowledge too, don't be afraid to ask they love to share stories. Thanks for sharing Northshore.
We have one like that not too far. Some things are sold there and early trains restored and can take a ride. A working lumber mill and blacksmith. Renaissance faires have reenactments making various things.
About forty miles from me is Silver Dollar City, a good sized, VERY BUSY reenactment town and tourist trap. It doesn’t hurt that there are people around here who actually use those skills in real life.
Very cool Shawn! People may want to check out for a local SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) a non-profit, teaching organization, that teaches about the skills and history of the middle ages. This is a 'learn free, teach free' group.....and it is alot of fun.
Low mileage wagon only driven by an old lady to the grocery store and church. I cook over charcoal/wood every other week. Just ate some chicken, cooked over charcoal, right before I watched this. We have Amish that live less than a mile away and an Amish grocery store in town.
Is Huron Indian Village (I think that’s what it’s name was) still a thing? That place was amazing and also showed how things were done back then. That would be an excellent place to highlight as well.
Brother, you're talking about St. Marie Among the Huron....the old long house village. Idk if it's still there or not....but cool AF indeed. It was 15 to 1600'a period.
Shawn will be greatly missed 🙏 ❤ 🌹
I love the tour of the old settlers village! It’s great that you have that place so close by and can visit when they have re-enactments going on.

Very cool. Brother Shawn. This ensures that the old ways always survive. Thank you North.👊 🇨🇦 🍁 👍
Love the quaint old village setup. Thanks for sharing, Shawn! Would love to learn how to cook with cast iron over the fire and other skills.
Oh, Regina! If you want to learn about cooking over cast iron....check out ArkWildman survival. He does it on his channel every week.
@@NorthshorePreparedness Thanks Shawn!

50 miles South of me, we have a place called Gun Town Mountain. Open only in summer, has reenactments daily. Love the saloon battle part.
